I did this for 3 years! I feel for you.......I got so burned out. I did investigations for a couple of years though, and I loved that. If the allegations were unfounded, I closed the case, and if they needed help, I sent them on to an ongoing worker. Loved it!

I could never do intake!!!! I do hear alot from out intake workers they love not having to keep a family very long. Me I get them for up to 2 years...lucky me!!!

You know, this is terrible to say......but you get used to it......it takes sooooooooo much more to shock and bother you after a while. My thing was neglect. I could handle abuse, for whatever reason, but when a kid was just straight out not cared about - that would kill me, and send me home in tears.

You know, this is terrible to say......but you get used to it......it takes sooooooooo much more to shock and bother you after a while. My thing was neglect. I could handle abuse, for whatever reason, but when a kid was just straight out not cared about - that would kill me, and send me home in tears.

I would be broken hearted all the time. I would want to take all the kids home with me. I'm a softie for babies and kids.
