You know, this is terrible to say......but you get used to it......it takes sooooooooo much more to shock and bother you after a while. My thing was neglect. I could handle abuse, for whatever reason, but when a kid was just straight out not cared about - that would kill me, and send me home in tears.

I get the medical cases where kids have been severely injured and are hospitalized. I also deal with the more high profile cases we get. I am beginning to think this is not so much luck of the draw.

I would be broken hearted all the time. I would want to take all the kids home with me. I'm a softie for babies and kids.

Not them.......the neglected and abused ones. I know that some children are awful but I can't help but blame the parents............but thats just cause I am dealing with friends with three little monsters who never get disciplined and one has even started shoplifting And still they see no problems.
