The Mad Chatters thread Part 5

I know (thousand small towns and Montana)..........I can't remember the name of it, and I remember you telling somebody who was asking before here that you were from Montana.

Yeah, sorry Christmas party at Thanksgiving. It's really a bit of a drag, but we do it for my grandma..............she's nearly 90.

When do you go to bed usually? Just wondering how much longer I have a chatting buddy for.
Usually around 2...

It's wonderful that everyone still goes home for Gramma!

Okay, makes sense then. I don't remember ever having that happen before.

So what do you do for a living?

In transition...
I was an optician for years... but quit when DS started school. It was too retail, evenings and weekends... I'd only see him Sundays with bedtime and all.

So I do some internet stuff and some writing... what ever I can do from home...

Oh that's nice. Well, I'm sure there are drawbacks, but at least you're there for your son.................how old is he?

10 1/2... 5th grade.
Is your oldest son in 5th or 6th?

6th grade...........middle school..............the nurse called me last week from a meeting saying his stomach hurt. You know why it hurt? He ate 2 brownies and a soda for lunch. :sad2: Too much freedom.............

Kids!
Mine has a brownie fetish too. He wants to make them constantly... HE has to do it -- well at least he's learning to cook. If you can make brownies you can make hamburger helper and feed yourself. Right? His wife will be impressed dont' you think?

Mine cooks too.........he started with hamburger helper :rotfl: He can do breakfast pretty well.........but his main dinner offering is just the old HH. I haven't started him on brownies.............hmmmm.................but I'm pretty much looking like the Pillsbury Doughboy already. :rotfl2:

Oh gosh! Brownies are my weakness!! And he wants them around all the time. I'm such a softy... ahhh the only adopted child of the infertile couple -- as spoiled as they get!

Oh my he really is the Prince............ :)

We wanted to adopt.........our first was conceived just a few months after we married, but then we couldn't have another. So we tried to adopt, but, we were trying to go through the state............and we wanted him to be the oldest. No luck. So, we went to the dr. and did the fun stuff. My second is our Clomid baby. We still wanted to adopt, I've always wanted to, but not long after our second was born, my dh got sick and then sicker and then really, really sick.

He has a chronic fatal disease..........so, there goes all adoption hopes. Nobody will accept that on an application.

Yeah, I know it doesn't work for everybody. My doc put me on a 4 month cycle.........my friend's doc put her on a 6 month..........she got pregnant in the 5th cycle.............I went to the 4th and wasn't..........she convinced me to take her remaining cycle........I did and that was him. Sorry I know it's probably frustrating that mine was quick next to yours, but dh and I kid that he's our "illegal" baby......... :rotfl: I was really lucky. I sure was a basket case trying to have that baby...........as I'm sure you were too. It was hard to find support because many infertile couples didn't have ONE child and we did, so often I'd be attacked on on-line support forums for being selfish enough to want more.

We THINK dh has gone into remission..........he needs a biopsy to be sure. It was supposed to be last Friday, but because he had this virus I have now, we had to move it to this Friday. He can stay in remission indefinitely. Without going into remission he was given 5-10 years to live................4 years ago. Which leaves us at 1-6.........and I'd best not talk about THAT much this late at night. I'm prone to anxiety attacks late at night.

Arrrgh!! Doesn't that drive you nuts! That you don't feel as bad as I do stuff!
You know it was all a long time ago now for me. DS was our third try at adopting... we had two that failed (another long awful story). Once we had him I was ready to put it all behind me and just enjoy him. Or should I say "and just spoil him". :rotfl:

I have just now put you on my permanant prayer list! Oh I so hope he IS in remission! My stepfather lived over 12 years after they gave him 3 months... but darn if even 12 doesn't sound puny when you both and your kids are so young. :sad2:

Hey I hate to end just now but were hitting that 2am DIS slow down and I'm having trouble posting. So I'll say goodnight now and hope this gets through.
Paige, I will be praying... for you to get well -- and for everything else too.

Good Morning!

I sent off the directory last night. Check your inbox!

It's my birthday! Well, I'm off to start getting ready for work.

I'll stop in later. :wave2:
