The Mad Chatters thread Part 5

Well, why the heck is it so hard to admit to, then? :teeth: Now you have to PROVE that you won't be offended before I'm gonna put myself out there........... :rotfl:

No! He's originally from California, and although I was born in Alaska, I lived in Nevada nearly my entire life. We met up in Vegas and got hitched there and lived there up until this past summer. We just wanted a change, so we chose VA. Got sick of living in the desert and not having any seasons, having nothing kid-friendly around, and nothing historical nearby. We really do love it here, but we aren't having the best luck since we arrived. DH HATES his job and I'm not too fond of mine either. Plus, we're poor!
I know what you mean about the seasons! In MT we had 6 months of winter and 2 of everything else.. well true summer only 6 weeks. Really got old.

Here we joke about how perfectly the seasons change. Like on the day the weather will just be warmer or cooler it's really funny! We LOVE the fall here it's the longest season and so beautiful!

I get it about being poor too... DH quit his job and started his own business a year and a half ago and as DS put it recently "Dad you really suck at this"... life is just interesting sometimes.

Hummm... prove I won't be offended??? :confused3
Doesn't the self imposed name "offendette" make that irrelevant??

okay...

My most embarrasing moment.
By Rella

I once went with a group to sing and do skits at
Levenworth Prison. I was young and stupid and
really stupid so I wore the Hot Pants outfit I wore
everywhere else. Let's just say I never got to say
a word... just had to leave the stage. :sad2:

Now promise you won't tell!!

Oh yeah! He really said it and I had to try really hard not to laugh!
Fortunately DH has a great sense of humor so he laughed too. :goodvibes

Sweetie, it's on the internet.............. :rotfl:

Really, it wasn't a big thing, if I just said it around some that had never partied, they might be offended and I have been doing that a lot lately, so I'm trying to calm down :sad2:

I was just going to say that I think people mature more if they have partied. They are able to get on with others' better because they have similar experiences, and I think most people, because they have had those experiences, have really learned acceptable and nonacceptable behavior.

Yes, I am Dr. Paige tonight............. :rotfl:

R.B. that is hilarious!!

Are you the one who sings in a choir? We have other choir people on this thread. Me (church choir), Minty, and Kelly, although she never posts here anymore. :guilty:

I'd do that, if I wasn't too shy to speak to anyone.............

Well I learned all about the bad side of unacceptable behavior! Fortunately I had straightened myself out before DH came along!

You mean choir?
What'd you think I meant? :rotfl:

Yes, I do love to sing. I know you asked once and I said I can't..............I'm not that great, but I love it, and I'm good enough in mid-range..............

Yeah I'm a choir girl! You are too! That's cool!
Most everything I've done is with one church venue or another.
Right now it's the choir at our Catholic Parish. Far from professional but we have a blast and do some great challenging music... I LOVE singing the Messiah pieces! I like the more modern stuff too.

What's your choir like?

Paige, I said red shovel. A shovel isn't really a tool though. :confused3

R.B. our church choir is not something you have to audition for or anything. You just go if you like to sing. I usually sing alto, but truthfully I am more of a second soprano. But we don't usually sing songs that require 3 women's parts. But when we do, I'm all over it! :thumbsup2

Paige!! You should go for it!
Oh if you love to sing don't hesitate!
Most choirs give lots of support learning music
and are grateful for any new members!
Before long you'll feel right at home!

We LOVE new members at our parish...
we buy them chocolate and all kinds of nice stuff!

One of the greatest things about it is the camaraderie!
We really have fun!

A shovel is totally a tool...............a tool is anything you use to help you do a task, but usually a simple machine vs. something complicated like a lawnmower. A hammer is a tool. A ruler is a tool. A shovel is a tool.

Oh, geez, now I'm teaching................

But I would have so much less time for the DIS.............. :rotfl:

Seriously, there's always ONE Methodist church in any area, and we have not clicked with this one. There is one just North of downtown that a friend of dh's goes to and has the preacher we liked from our old town. We have been thinking of going over there. I used to teach Sunday School in our old town, but this church here doesn't seem to want me.......... :guilty:

Paige, I really don't think of you as the shy type!

I am though. The only reason I came here was because someone started a thread about not being in any cliques and I didn't want to be one of those...............

This thread looked fun.

I lurked for a long time first though, to see how you all treated newbies..........I did the same on the PMS thread and I'm still being careful there.
