and if all else fails the emergency room can do it.

That's where I finally took dh when I thought he was going downhill and no one could figure him out. I threw a fit right there and said my husband was sick and we weren't going ANYWHERE until someone helped him. That's when they set him up with his liver specialist in Dallas and he started him on steroids over the phone. He told us later he wouldn't have made it longer than another week or two........he was already bright yellow and had started having personality changes (a sign of chemical build-up in the brain).

Okay, let's talk about something happier. I feel like I'm always whining these days.

I'm going to the craft festival tomorrow morning. I'm ditching church (again) and going with my friend. Tomorrow night we are going to dinner at some friends' house (from church).

What are you girls doing?

Good, glad you aren't going to wait. It's just not worth the risk.

I know, you lucky duck!! (I congratulated you when I first signed on). That's something I've wanted for a while. I love the portability of laptops! Especially at the airport!

Autoimmune hepatitis. We don't like to use the word hepatitis because everyone thinks A,B or C. This isn't like those, it's in the family of lupus. His body attacks his liver. He takes Imuran, what liver transplant recipients take, steroids, and synthetic bile since his bile is toxic.

It was a long road to a diagnosis. And let me tell you, there I was with a new baby, on maternity leave, hearing a dr. tell me my husband had 5-10 years to live. Definitely not the best memory.

He waited 4 years to go into remission, and just did last Spring. The dr. keeps him on the meds just in case of a flare up, but he is officially in remission and can stay that way indefinitely. I thank God often.

Sorry, I couldn't remember who was here.

By the way, where did Kim go? Did I miss her leave?

Holy Cow, Paige! That must have been an awful time for you. I'm so glad he is in remission and I hope it lasts forever. :grouphug:

Shop for crafts, of course!! I haven't been to one here, but in Vegas we had the huge craft fairs twice a year. I always found adorable fall and Christmas decorations, delicious soup mixes and yummy desserts. Going around taste testing is half the fun.

Good evening everyone.

Good evening, Pip! :sunny:

Teresa, yeah, that story about your BIL is very scary. That is awesome that that foundation covered his huge medical bills. I'm sure your entire family is thrilled that he is okay. :grouphug:

Well ladies I have to go up to the lodge now.

Bonnie, you have fun tomorrow and check out some walk in clinics, start with the yellow pages.

Paige, you take care of that hubby and stay off your foot!

God is great. I had a burst appendix too and didn't know it had happened.........I was 20 and home for the summer from college..........I was supposed to go camping and canoeing with my brother and my dh who was not yet my dh and instead spent about a week or two (can't really remember) in the hospital and the rest of the summer recovering at home.............

Well, if there's food there, that's a whole 'nother ballgame! I never went because there's an admittance charge around here, and crafts are usually pretty pricey too, so I just thought that I'd be paying to look at things I couldn't buy! :rotfl:

Bye Teresa! Good talking to you again!

Paige, that is awful about the appendix. No one I've ever known has had that happen. But it sounds horrible.
