The Mad Chatters thread Part 16

I liked Devil in the White City. My family is originally from Chicago (and most of them still live there).

I wanna visit Chicago one day. You know the most interesting part of that book for me was that Elias Disney was one of the construction workers, and he took Walt with him sometimes.

you wanna visit Chicago because I'm here, right Stephie? ;)

I loved Devil in the WHite City. I'm a sucker for books based on historical events and thought the detail fascinating. I live just a couple blocks where the faire was. Its now the University of Chicago. The Museum of Science and Industry here is the only building left standing from that World's fair. Cool huh?

Currently I am reading Eldest, sequel to Eragon. It is WAY better than the movie. This kid is pretty darn talented. Hes probably Tolkein reincarnated or something. The third book comes out in August I think

Next up is, like everyone else, to re-read all six HP books in time for the big finale. It will be tough, but I'm up to the challenge methinks

I  the Museum of Science and Industry. It's a must-see almost every time I visit. The statue of The Republic that's behind it (is that the name of it?) - that's the creepiest looking thing I ever saw! One of my cousins works at the University of Chicago. And if you should happen to visit Jackson Park, say hello to my grandfather for me - one of my uncles scattered some of his ashes there last summer (don't tell!) :teeth:

Not my spirits...my ex-husband had a ton of nasty things to say to me again tonight. He hates me. He's made it perfectly clear that I'm a terrible person.

Sorry to be such a downer.

It's just his opinion sweet. Don't let him get to you!
The problem with ex's is they know exactly which buttons to push!

     :flower3:

Page 3? I dont think so.

Bumping up. I'm off to the rodeo. Have a good one Chatters.

Hey Tricia! Mine's still brewing, so I'm still fuzzy. I am doing well, I have to work later this afternoon, and that sucks, but really it's just going to play with a couple of kids, so not too bad. Any plans for the weekend?

DS has a baseball game this afternoon. So I'll be doing that and a little yelling "Go Cardinals" on the side.

Is school almost finished for you? I think my kids have twenty days left.

We are down to 4 weeks, thank goodness. By the end of the school year, I am as ready for school to be over as the kids are. Two blissfull months of no arguing about going to bed, or who has to shower first, or forgotten lunch money, homework, etc. Plus mine spend the summers with my mom, so I don't have to deal with "I'm so bored!" :teeth:
