Do they spend the whole summer there? I remember last summer you mentioning having to make the drive down to get them.

I'm so looking forward to having no routine but do fear the "I'm bored's"

They will spend all of June and the first part of July. We are going down Memorial Day weekend for a big family thing, and I will leave the kiddos there. DD has dance camp the last week of July, so they have to be home by then. That was how I talked my kids into moving from B'ham to Tulsa. I promised them they could spend summers with the grandparents. Everyone is in heaven except me. Well, the first week is pretty awesome, but then I'm ready to climb the walls.


Sorry, the DIS is hanging up on me. This post took forever, and I finally had to redo it.

I the Museum of Science and Industry. It's a must-see almost every time I visit. The statue of The Republic that's behind it (is that the name of it?) - that's the creepiest looking thing I ever saw! One of my cousins works at the University of Chicago. And if you should happen to visit Jackson Park, say hello to my grandfather for me - one of my uncles scattered some of his ashes there last summer (don't tell!)

too cool! i could literally walk to Jackson Park from here. I'm just south of the Midway, and I too work at the University. IASW isn't it??

I got my hair done today and pedi and eyebrow wax. I also got a new ensemble. DH is mad cause I spent too much money.

Hi ..It's been forever.

We went shopping, took DS to Chuck E Cheese and went to Olive Garden for dinner.

This afternoon, I declared that I would not be doing any more chores this weekend...not sure if this will fly or not.

Well, I haven't even begun to clean house, so that will be my day tomorrow.

Sorry, I got a phone call from a client. I thought something might be wrong, but she said she wasn't calling for business, it was a "friend" call. We have to work on boundaries.

I've had a very busy 'running here there and everywhere' kind of last 2 days!!!!! Now I'm pooped!!!

Aww! You got a Drew!

What a cute furbaby! Have you named him/her?

Her name was Mickey but now has been changed to Daisy. Drew was in charge of naming her and decided Daisy Duck is better!

It was really funny how we got her! We went to a place just to look at some puppies and they were soooooooooooo expensive. I told DH to drive to the pet store and we would check the "for sale" board there. This lady had purebred labs listed for 100.00 each...black, chocolate and yellow. DH had his heart set on yellow, but she said she only had black and chocolate left. Welllllllllll, we get there (and let me tell you, that was an adventure in itself) and she said she got off of the phone with us and went out to see what puppies were left. Lo and behold...one single yellow one. I snapped her up, wrote the check and drove off. They wanted 4 times that much at the other place we looked!

She is only 5 weeks old, but the mom didn't want anything to do with the babies anymore. I am taking her to the vet first thing on Monday morning.
