Hello all.

I was informed the other day, that I'm a loser...and I would fit in perfectly here.

Thanks Lara

welcome Kelly!

I did convince DH to order dinner out last night from a local Italian place, well great or so I thought. I lost the coin toss so I had to go get it, FINE! So I get there and there is another man picking up food with the same first name as DH. We have a long complicated last name so he always just calls it under his first name, although I told him after this to use mine, it is a little more unique or use krop. Anyway so now the hostess is all confused, and rings the first guy up wrong, she gives him my food, and I even questioned it bc DS10's meatball in the side always comes in this round container that the other guy had. No she insists this is his and that container has soup. So I drive ALL the way home and yep I have the wrong food. I call just as the other guy does so the restuarant tells us to come back and switch. ERRRRRRRR! the twit hostess didnt even apologize until I got there. So what wa suppose to be a nice stress free take out dinner, turned into a PITA!:headache:

Ok now off to Mass and then to ooh and ahh over all the stuff in DS10's classroom and then try and take DS5 to the K classroom and hope he doesnt freak since he insists he is NEVER going to K:rolleyes1

See ya all later. Play nice!:goodvibes

Whew! you made me tired....

Morning! thanks for the welcome!! I live outside of Philly too. about 10 miles or so Northest.

Morning losers!!!

DH let me sleep last night:goodvibes When the kids got up at 5:30 this morning he took them downstairs and shut the door so I could sleep. I haven't been sleeping well for a while and I've been really down....I just checked the side effects of a medication I've been taking for the last few months....one of the "serious" side effects is sleeplessness and depression.

Guess I have to get the energy to call the doc in the morning and see if I should switch my medication. I wonder if I can just convince her to take out all the plumbing...I'm done with it and it takes way too much effort.

Well, I was planning to be productive, but the boy (who still is having some trouble with his breathing) is on me demanding I cuddle him...who am I to deny him? :confused3

BTW...he was playing "I fart on you" again last night....he loves that game. :sad2:

Awww, Lara. I hope he feels better soon. My kids have been extra cuddly this week too. Being sick makes them love their mommies.

How are all my loserish friends?

And another thing, lest you all think I'm turning to the dark side. We've been out of toilet paper since last night & are using Kleenex because I have yet to make it to the store. There's always tomorrow. :rotfl:

Just don't accidentally use the Kleenex with Vicks added as toilet paper. Trust me on this one. :scared:

Hello all.

I was informed the other day, that I'm a loser...and I would fit in perfectly here.

Hi Kelly! I just found out I'm a loser too. Who knew? :confused3

:rolleyes1 You know I'm only two and a half hours from Philly....

This board, and I don't just mean this thread, but the whole board seems to lean heavily to the northeast. I'm always a long way from everyone. :headache:

DH has taught the boys that if they blow fart sounds on his stomach, he will make matching fart faces. They all laugh hysterically. Sometimes I demand a full day without any mention of body parts, sounds, or secretions. I don't ever get a full day, but it does usually buy me a few hours.

Um....I have a horrible confession......I taught my son the fart game.

Make them lock up their guns before they come around you
!!

Does this mean you are DONE taking care of them for the season?

YES, I AM DONE FOR THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, until tomorrow morning, when I have to go pack up coolers full of leftover soups and stuff for the guy that owns the place. But YES!! DONE!!

what up losers?
It seems to be a slow night here. DH's mother trashed my saturday night out plans. She ended up going to the ER and of course the drs are all jerks and donot know what is going on. Oh she is fine. Just looking for everyone to run to her bed side and worry. When we got to the er we where outside her room talking to the dr and she was laughing with a nurse and haveing a grand old time. We walked in the room and she acted like she was on her death bed. Turns out she was having gas pains. But as she told us she knows she had a stroke and they just do not want to do there jobs. The women should be in a rubber room:rotfl2:

Ugh, did we marry brothers? My MIL is just like that!! At least once a week, she see's some incurable disease on TV and is sure she is dying from it.

Lara, that game is disgusting! :rotfl:

When people ask about my kids, I oftentimes tell them that I only have boys and my life is filled with football and farts.

I have one of each...they each have their own challenges. The girl is in the shower now...she and I had a battle royal this morning to get her into the shower....now she will not get out.

The boy is "all boy"....bouncing off the walls and breaking things.

Mine are playing the Wii and fighting with each other. If they didn't scream at one another, I'd swear they didn't like each other very much.

Whenever they start fighting and yelling, I think of that old country song by Keith Whitley and some other guy called "Brotherly Love" and it makes me remember that's just what brothers do.

:rolleyes1 You know I'm only two and a half hours from Philly....

This makes me laugh, last week or so, there was a post about worst sports fans, so there I am defending my Philly fans, and I get a PM from someone I dont know commenting on the one poster who acts likes she has lived everywhere, has done everything, a real know it all. The PM is ripping her bc the PMer is a Philly fan too. I ask her if she is in the city or a surburbanite like me who will defend Philly fans no matter what. I figure this was a safe question since I was not asking EXACTLY where she lived. She says Chester County, I laughed and said me too, hey who knows we could be neighbors haha, then she got all weird on me and was like ah see you around the DIS.

I mean I wasnt asking to meet me or anything. But I find so many people I know out here from my HS etc, that it drives my DH nuts, so I think it would be extremely funny if a DISer lived near by. Heck there is a DISer who went to my HS but is much older than me. It can be a small world after all sometimes.

Everything went great at the Open House for school. DS5 seemed to like the K teacher and she was very understanding about his physical issues. What a relief.

Now I have to clean around here bc my ILs are coming for GP Day at the school tom, Ugh! At least theya rent staying over so I only have to worry about the first floor!;)

LOL...I think it would be cool to have a bunch of people around that you've known forever. I don't have that because first I grew up in a city (and moved around a few time) and then I left home at 17 and never went back (well, I mean I visited, but both my parents moved out of state after I left).

I now live about fourty five minutes from where I went to high school, but I don't know one person who lives in the area from school.

One of the reasons we live where we do now is because it has that "small town neighborhood" feel so my kids will not feel quite that adrift.

I just had to mop my kitchen floor. Again
The moral of the story is...don't spray furnitur polish onto a rag over the tile floor. It make the floor veeeerrrrryyyyyy slippery. :scared1: Everyone in the family has, or almost has busted it at least once since last night. :rotfl:
People falling down is never not funny! :lmao:

What have I done! I just said that the kids could play in DD's room. :scared: I must be slipping. I'm sitting here thinking of all the things that need to be done in the house in the next two weeks & I allow 3 boys & 1 girl to go into her bedroom to play. It took me 6 months to get it straightened up. :headache: At least tomorrow is garbage day. :)

I live maybe 5 minutes from where I grew up. My dad still lives in the same house. The HS I went to is practically in my back yard. I can hear the football games & band practices. You would think living in the same town all your life you'd see people you grew up with all the time. I never do. :confused3 My husband, however, can be on vacation & run into someone he went to HS with. It's weird.

It its cool some days and other days it is like I never left HS. A lot of people transplanted out here. I went to a huge Catholic HS so it covered a lot of territory. Some of my friends have moved to NJ and DE and they are always amazed at all the people I see all the time.

One girl we couldnt stand, recently moved into the parish and her kids go to DS's school so of course she comes up and it so excited to see me. It was a little weird. Then I mention it to my friends that I see B all the time, and they were like "ewwww". Now my friends werent really catty types but this girl was a pain, but hey I got to be nice now so I am.

I lucked out bc we moved twice as a kid and then moved and finally settled when I was in 8th grade, well most of the friend groups had been established but I lucked out that this group took me as their friend and I have been friends ever since. We just went to our 20th HS reunion in Nov and I think I see more of these people in daily life then I did when I went there. People who never gave me the time of day in HS are now friendly bc our kids play basketball together. It can be weird sometimes

Part of why I didn't get to know anyone in school was that I was always a bit of a loner and "different"...sort of like why I origonally posted this thread. I've never been a conformist and my parents taught me to speak my own mind.

In school I was a couple of years younger than most of the other kids....I skipped two grades. When I got to college, it was the same thing. I have a couple of friends that I've kept in touch with, but not many.

That's one of the reasons I've always loved the Dis...there are people out there who are a lot like me.

Boy, I must have drunk the "serious" coffee this morning...what's up with that?

Anyway, off to the party I thought was yesterday. See everyone later.
