John McCain steps in it again:

John McCain introducer David Bellavia disparages Tiger Woods (and Barack Obama)

http://www.thegolfblog.com/2008/04/mccain-introducer-disparages-tiger.html

To add insult to injury, Tiger Woods' father, Earl, is a Vietnam veteran who served 2 full tours of duty and was a Green Beret.

But his son, Tiger, is fair game because he's black and there's a black candidate who will most likely win the WH.

Instead of spitting in Bellavia's eye, John McCain embraces him.

For McCain, there's no military service that can't be crapped on if he can make political points with the far right in his party. Don't believe it: ask his friend, John Kerry.

And just who are The Vets for Freedom?

The Vets for Freedom are pac created and funded by Republicans to push the Iraq war. They are not a legitimate group representing veterans or their issues.

Did you guys notice all the mentions of IRAN yesterday??? The General brought it up more than once, John McCain mentioned it as did Joe Lieberman. All that sure started to sound familiar to me....

That cluelessness is going to bite him in the butt come November, because you know he's just going to keep on doing it. His handlers are just as clueless.

I think not. He is playing to the conservative base who still believe that Iraq was behind 9/11 and had WMDs. They will come out in droves to vote for him. We are all listening to too much Liberal Radio if we think he is not a threat.

Yet they make fun of all those 9/11 conspiracy theorists. (Well, not that I don't think the 9/11 conspiracy theorists are a bit nuts as well.) But they're just as nuts.

I always love when these people start talking about Iran.

They conveniently sidestep the fact they were the ones who created an atmosphere that led to the installation of a Shiite Pro-Iranian government in Iraq.

Btw, McCain is still mixing up his Shiites and Sunnis:

Once is a "misspeak".

Twice is a "gaffe".

Three times and you realize it isn't a "misspeak" or a "gaffe", but a genuine "Hmmm" moment.

Careful, or he will unleash his rage on you.

You know he's going to blast somebody sooner or later. And it isn't going to be pretty.

The reports are he's already used a vile expletive to his wife, in public and in front of reporters.

How vile? If it was my DH, he would've been served divorce papers.

I heard about that! What kind of a man calls his wife the C-Word?

Well, to give him a little credit, even though he can't keep them straight, at least he's aware there is a difference. GWB had to be told they weren't all "just Muslims".

Yesterday was same gaffe #5, that goes beyond even an Hmmm moment.....

Was this recent? I hope the public does get to see him lose his temper. We really don't need a POTUS like that.

McCain is military and there is a right way, a wrong way, and the military way. I don't think military people know how to compromise. How will he ever accomplish anything if he can't work with the other side.

In all fairness, it happened back in 1992. I won't post the link because of strong language but if you can google the key words and find it.

I'm butting back into ya'll thread. I'm sorry.

Now I don't agree with this and not because my husband is military. Yes, military people have a certain way about them but I think most military people are more analytical than anyone else. They have a problem and will think over every scenario from beginning to end and run the numbers to find the best solution with the least number of "casualities"(not meaning real deaths).

I don't think John McCain has a military mindset to be honest. I think he is forever rooted obvious to the military but to go head over boots into war because he doesn't want to give isn't the military way. The military way is to get in, get done and get home with the most efficient and painless way.

May I say that is an old stereotype? Maybe it's more accurate for much older men-over 65 or 70,(McCain's age group) but for the younger ones, they live in the real world. For every Patton wannabe there are 50 guys who are good, decent, and do know how to work with others.

Actually, I think it's just a personal problem for McCain...I don't think it has anything to do with being in the military or being old.

Well....I agree that it's not really a military trait - although I knew many people in the military that fit the description - however, I think age does figure into it. Young people tend to be much more open minded and willing to accept suggestions about other courses of action than someone who is McCain's age. Everything that I've heard about the man seems to indicate that he is the type that gets the bit in his teeth and just takes off.

In other words, he's a lot like Shrub...he believes the same thing on Wednesday that he believed on Monday, and what happened on Tuesday doesn't make a darn bit of difference.

That's good to hear. It's just that everytime I see the Generals they all seem to say the same thing. I still believe that in some areas they think they are right, maybe they are more open to finding ways to keep the casualities down but I don't know if they are willing to find ways to not go into a war. Could they have found a way not to go into Iraq?
