I agree, we were impressed with how nice it looks. I just hope one of those buildings will have a quick service with a grill. It looks pretty at night. And fits/blends in with the Fort.

That's somewhat disappointing. I'm curious what will be in the new buildings. Given the plumbing infrastructure and sewage lift pump, I really thought this would be something substantial.I just spoke with the Fort’s manager of food and beverage and was told there will not be another snack bar or QSR added to the pool area. So all of the people coming to use those 2 pools will be using the same very small snack bar that has been there forever.

Depending on how bad you gotta go, that might be substantial.I was told it will be restrooms.
These ant hills are getting more sophisticated."IT" as seen from Wilderness Lodge..View attachment 1062387

We used the pool quite a bit and it would get crowded at peak times but I don't understand why they just added a pool that is similar in size with no new amenities. I would have preferred that they closed the pool for a year and built something similar to Storm-a-Long Bay. It would have been a more efficient footprint wise (keep more of the green space) and would have been a nice addition for the campers. A pool bar would be awesome! The pics of the new pool look nice, but I still don't see the point. We rarely went to the pool, but I never saw it very busy when we did go by.
Adding more amenities like a pool bar/restaurant would have been a nicer add.

I think the flush glass and slab sides was a late change from the proposed balconies after they got wind of our chicken bone on the highest balcony contest. But in the rendering you can see the Fort Wilderness side still appears very off-white, slab sided, with reflective flush glass - very 'hotel' like and jarringly modern. Also still seen in this construction tour recently posted:

As Fort visitors, I'm sure we all agree. From a TDC/DVC perspective, it is an unnecessary expense. If any part of this resort should be disguised with more woodsy paneling, natural colors, darker woods, etc - it should be this part, that towers right over Settlement.
