Piano I would love to learn but no room for one in the apt. I noticed here in the apts someone moved in and got a baby grand piano. I dont know how they got it in.:scared1:

What about the guitar? Its smaller than the piano and pretty enjoyable to learn...

Well Usnuz....if you're moving out of the apartment into a house, you might need new furniture. :goodvibes

I was hoping to get up to 8 km today (which is 5 miles). Only made it to 7 km. There was a wind blowing that made it difficult round one stretch of the velodrome.

Do you have to pay to use the track?

The velodrome looks like this....took this picture last year for the Scav hunt category of Empty.

It's in the park closest to home; less than 1 km away from me. The park is maintained as part of the local council facilities and there is a cycling club associated with the velodrome. When the cycling club is using it for practise or meets, it is closed to the general public. No dogs allowed at anytime.

Outside of that, it is opened for anyone to use. A lot of kids learn to cycle on this track and also to go around it on their scooters.

Do I pay to use it? I pay the council a fee for the pleasure of living in the council. My yearly fee is used for things like road maintenance, water pipe/sewerage maintenance, rubbish collection, park maintenance (including the velodrome). I think we pay about $1100 for the year.

Its to bad realtors dont hire people to take pics of the homes for sale. That would be good. At least I would get paid for it.

mmmmmmm, just enjoyed the last of our Chicken Dinner from Mrs. Knotts. So did the cats! :lmao:

Sounds like great leftovers. Yummy.

PIO:
So can the infield be used for anything else like a fun game of rugby or cricket? Or is it bikes only(and scooters)?

The infield in the velodrome is rarely used. Some people do play there....but there are decent facilities in that park.....

Excuse the very bad picture....this was my FIRST shot I ever took for the first scavenger hunt I participated in....for the category of birds feeding, and from my phone. Couldn't get it to load up any bigger than this.

But you'll notice that there is a playground in the back ground...and I'm actually standing in the middle of the playing field where Aussie Rules football, cricket and occassionally soccer is played.

This shot is looking to the left (and further away from the velodrome) for the park. Where those trees are and behind them, is another grassy space that families can picnic. Under the trees is a little dam/water area where the dogs like to splash about. All around the facilites are walking tracks that is also used for cycling around the park.

And there is also a golf cage, basketball court and a tennis wall in this park.

:scratchin I should probably take some more pictures to share, if you you're interested.
