Onward to Day 2. Our Magic Kingdom day. We had an 8am ADR for Crystal Palace, and noticed that MK was doing morning EMH every day for the next few weeks! So we decided to get up early (DW and I were up at 5!) and we got the boys up at 5:30. We were out the door by 6:30, and were walking up to the front right at rope drop!
We walked in, and we are just loving being on Main Street!!!
Sorry for the fuzzy pic. I do not know why it is.
Very empty Main Street at 7am!
So, Donna and I are both military veterans, me retired, her active duty. Most people do not know that Disney allows a vet to participate in their retreat ceremony each day at 5pm (that is the lowering of the flag at the end of the work day, for those who may not know). It is an honor to be able to do it. Well, we decided to see if we could be part of it today. We walked into City Hall, and the very nice CM behind the counter said that normally it is reserved a week or so in advance, but he would be happy to check. He came back a few minutes later, and was very surprised that no one had signed up for today!!!! Yay!!! We were in! He took our names, branch of service (both Air Force), and told us to meet the Color Guard at 4:45 for instructions! What a great way to start the day!!!
Now we have almost an hour before our ADR, so where do we go.

Why, Tomorrowland, of course!!! Buzz Lightyear and Space Mountain here we come!!
Can you believe how empty it is?
This was actually the first time any of us had been on Buzz. The wait was well, there was no wait! We walked right on! DS17 and I then wanted a trip to Space, so off we go. Now I have been to MK over 40 times, and have never gotten on to Space Mountain with a 2 minute wait! Wow!!! So, DW and DS15 (he does NOT like thrill rides

) take a ride on the Wedway People Mover (yeah, I know its TTA, but Im old school).
Well, time for breakfast! Eeyore is DWs favorite, so Crystal Palace is always on the list of ADRs! We really like the food here as well. Some dont seem to think so, but we do.
So after a wonderful breakfast, off we go!
Castle pic from Crystal Palace
We decide to head left into Adventureland. Climb the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, and then into the always dangerous, Jungle Cruise! DJ was our captain.
He was really good!
DW and I had been on it many times before, but a first for the boys. We were a bit surprised when they both told us that they liked the corny humor and all.
So where to next. Why POC!
Always a must do. We like the updates. They dont detract from the original, and add some new material.
DS17 and I decide that a ride on the BTMRR is in order next! We really think this is a must do for us as well.
We decide to skip over the rest of Frontierland for now (we have dinner ADRs at Liberty Tree Tavern), except for getting clapped in irons for a bit!
We head over to Adventureland, and the Haunted Mansion!! It was closed for refurb the last time we were here, so another must see! Ahhh, great as always! Love the theming and the CMs really play it up as well.
Next, we decide on Mickeys Philharmagic. Another first for all of us. What a great show!!! We all loved this one as well. So we look through some shops, and we are ready to eat. We always go to Cosmic Rays for lunch in MK. A tradition with us. Again, some dont seem to like it, but we have never been disappointed in the food! It was good again! Oh, note to all. They have changed the way they allow people to sit here. They warn you before you go in, that you may NOT sit at a table until you already have your food, and they ENFORCE it!! We saw several try to sit and hold tables, and there was always a CM a minute later asking them to make room for the people with food. I remember last year having to search for several minutes for a table, this time, several were open and waiting. A GOOD change!
We are at lunch, and I think that is it for now. I might do the rest of the MK day later today if I get a chance, and tell you about the absolutely wonderful retreat ceremony!
