Hey Kevin!!

I am so glad it's Friday. This week has been exhausting :sad2:

I know what you mean! We need a vacation from the vacation!

Since this was a short trip, we did quite a bit, but we never hurried. We spent 15 hours in MK on Monday! :scared1: But the day was wonderful, and we never felt like we were rushing. It just didn't seem like 15 hours.

I'm working on the next update, and the pics are uploading as we speak.

Cool :thumbsup2

Isn't it something. Normally doing anything for 15 hours seem like such a long time but not if it's Disney related

Yes, we are DVC owners at Saratoga Springs. We wish we had bought sooner, but we love it now! Our room for this last stay would have cost us over $1,600, but was $0 cash. Our trip in July would be well over $4,000 for the room, but again, $0. Of course, there is a buy in cost, and dues for upkeep and such, but we figure we will break even in only 4 years, and after that, the savings will be tremendous.

How we looked at it was simple, we are planning a Disney trip every year (actually, we have 4 trips in 3 years planned, and maybe another!), and we like the amenities in the deluxe resorts, so we prepay for our rooms now, and 20 years from now, when a room will cost $1,000 or more a night, our cost will still be a few hundred a year in dues. Saving us literally thousands in room costs. When we are ready, we can transfer the points to the boys.

Now we are ready to add-on already! We want to make sure both the boys have enough points each to take a good vacation every year with their family in the future. Of course, we'll be using the points for at least the next 30 years or so, but we'll be taking them and their families with us. :rolleyes1

I hope I haven't sounded too much like a commercial, and it isn't Disney's best kept secret anymore, but it was a great fit for us. If someone prefers staying off-site or only in values, then it probably isn't a good fit. Or if someone only goes to Disney every 3 or 4 years, they might see some savings, but only over the entire 45+ years of ownership.

Thanks for your insight:thumbsup2 -We most likely will buy into it this next Spring-I would like the OKW resort-but we'll see how it all goes-We plan on taking the tour on Our next trip and maybe then DH will be more willing to go ahead with it all!!!

If you don't mind me asking Kevin-How many points did you start off with?-We're thinking about 200

Teenagers:headache: -What a struggle to get them out the door-and then a last minute fit because DD couldn't find a gym shirt-this ones too big and it has to be white or grey-Whatever:sad2:

Ughhh!!! Bring home your gym cloths you have at school and I'll wash them!!!!

...mo'nin, 'peeps'....time to 'rise'n'shine'....

Good luck! :goodvibes I really think that as long as you're going to Disney often, it is definitely worth it.

We started with 160, but will be adding another 160 soon. 200 is not a bad starting point.

...wow, you guys must be, like, MILLIONAIRES!

Hardly. We just save our money. We have our income tax refund saved, and with the money coming from the IRS later this year, the extra points are more than half paid for! :thumbsup2

OK, I think I have the next installment ready. See below! I hope you like it. I'm not really much of a writer.
