The Kids Surprise Trip and Our Winter Weather Escape! ~With LOTS of pictures~

Your photopass pics are wonderful! Thomas loved the Jedi training ones. MY pics were my favorite of course. I booked Tusker House for breakfast on our AK day too. Also enjoyed your Disney on Ice pics! My kids loved that show when we went back in November.

Hi MomoftwoDisneyboys! I've been following your TR, and I'm lovin' it. :goodvibes The pics are great. I was showing my DGS7 your Jedi training pics and it really got him excited! We will be at WDW in Oct with the grandkids, and are so ready! This will be my first photopass share-I love the pics you got. Keep them coming.:thumbsup2

Hi! :goodvibes Welcome to my TR!

I'm glad your DGS enjoyed the Jedi Training pics! You are going to have so much fun with your grandkids in October!! :yay:

Boy, I miss one day and I'm 3 pages behind! I love all the pics-your family is so cute! I bet your boys loved the pictures from the JTA.

How many more days do you have left to report on?

Thanks!

Let's see. . . I am on day 4, so about 4 days to go! :cool1:

Hi! I read your TR tonight, and it is great! Great pictures, and your photopass pictures are very good. I love the one with you and your DH kissing & the boys are covering their eyes  My boys are two years apart also, 9 & 11. Perfect age difference. Can't wait to hear more!

Welcome to my TR! :goodvibes Glad you are enjoying it! Yes, having boys 2 years apart is a lot of fun! A little challenging at times :rotfl: but still fun! :cool1:

I am jealous of your December trip!! :santa: Someday I will get to go see Disney all decorated for Christmas!

Friday January 23rd continued. . .

We usually don't spend very much time at AK, and today was no different. But there were a few things that I wanted to do there that we had never done before. I definitely wanted to either see the Festival of the Lion King or the Nemo show. I opted for the FOTLK because I thought the boys would enjoy it more. So after breakfast that is where we headed. WOW what an awesome show!! I am so glad we finally saw it. Very neat and colorful and full of energy!

After FOTLK we were headed back across the park to use our EE fastpasses DH had gotten us that morning. When we went by It's Tough to be a Bug we noticed only a 5 minutes wait. We had never seen this one before either, so we got in line. When we got inside while we were waiting for the doors to open we spotted Trixiequilts and family once again! When we got inside we all sat together and I looked down the row and DS7 was somehow sitting in the middle of her family with a big smile on his face! I'm pretty sure he wanted to spend the rest of the day with them instead of us! :rotfl: The show was very cute. I was surprised by how short it was though. Afterwards we said our good-byes to the Trixie family and went for one more ride on EE.

I got my camera out on EE and DS9 said to me - "Don't come crying to me when you drop that camera!!" :rotfl2: Sounds like something I would say to him!

Up until now AK had been busy, but nothing too bad. We could see that it was starting to get busier and we had enough by now anyway and decided it was a nice day to do some shopping. So we headed towards the exit of AK.

As we were just about to exit the kids spotted an older gentleman CM with pins so they ran up to him. Now I will have to back up a bit. I forgot to mention earlier that I had lost a pin on our first night. I had 2 pins on the strap of my little bag that I carry to the parks. I have a pink Minnie Mouse pin that says MOM that the kids got me last year when we were at WDW on Mother's Day. And I have a Tinkerbelle pin that says Where Dreams Come True that I got from the Mickey Moms Club. Well I had lost the Tink pin back on Tuesday. I was a little bummed about it because that was a pin that you couldn't buy, but the kids were more upset about it than me. So DH and I kind of hang back when the kids are doing their pin trading thing and let them do what they want. I see DS9 trading a pin and the CM says to him - "ah that's a great choice, this is a rare pin that you can't buy". And he comes running over and says - I got your pin back mom!! That CM happened to have the same Tink pin that I had lost! :goodvibes I was so touched that he traded one of his pins for me! I was about in tears. What a sweet boy I have!

After that we caught a bus back to CBR to drop off some stuff and get ready to head to DTD for some shopping! :woohoo:

I love FOTLK. I saw it for the first time last year with my mom and can't wait to go back with DH & the boys. It really is amazing!

That's so sweet of your son to trade one of his pins for you! :goodvibes I'm so glad you got your pin back.

DS7 could have stayed with us, we would have loved it! And he would have had a very exciting afternoon (which you will find out about very soon). ;)

What a sweet thing for DS9 to do for you. :flower3:

It was funny at ITTBAB, we were heading into the theater and I thought I heard a little voice calling my name, but I certainly didn't want to look like an idiot by turning around just to find no one. But the boys caught up to us and we all had more fun watching the show because we were together.

Your family made our trip more fun..."Rock On! We're at Disney World!"

Yes, I was very proud of DS9 for doing that! :goodvibes

The kids were the best at spotting you guys! :3dglasses

Here's a little "Rock On" picture for you!! Not that you didn't see it enough at WDW! :lmao:

I'm very excited to see this show for the first time myself. Glad you all enjoyed it!

Aww... how sweet!

Friday January 23rd continued. . .

After we left AK we went back to CBR real quick to drop off a few things and freshen up. Then we headed back out to go to DTD!

Disney2009325.jpg

We stopped at Once Upon a Toy, the kids favorite store! :yay: :yay:

We walked by the new T-Rex restaurant. That place looks really neat!

Disney2009332.jpg

When we are at DTD we usually eat at Wolfgang Puck Express, but wanted to try something different this time. I had researched and thought Cooke's of Dublin would be a good place for us. Well, it really wasn't very good at all. The food looked good and smelled good and the service was good, but the food was terrible.

The only thing that was good was the ice cream cones - they were HUGE!

I had a headache before we ate there and afterwards I had a terrible stomach ache. :sad2: We normally stay at DTD and shop & walk around for hours, but I really felt awful so we decided to call it a day and head back to CBR for the rest of the evening.

:goodvibes :yay: Hi shelly,
Playing catch up tonight with eveyones Trip reports.
Hope you are enjoying the nice weather we were blessed with this week...FINALLY! Hope you were too.
Love all your pictures! Especially the magical Mickey one. I did not know they had photopass CM's in DTD!

Does everyone still run to Expedition Everest at rope drop? I was hoping that by this year it doesn't get as crazy. Last year it was like a stampede for the mountain.

Whew! Finally got all caught up!

Ok- I am super excited that BOTH of your boys got chosen this year! :yay: I felt so bad when you told us last year about poor little DS7. He's a trooper though pirate:

I love love love the photopass pics of you guys in front of the sorcerer's hat in DHS and the pics of the boys at the training academy. So cute! :goodvibes

And you brought a little tear to my eye when you said that your boys got your pin back  What great kids you have Shelly!

I am jealous of your December trip!! :santa: Someday I will get to go see Disney all decorated for Christmas!

.......:rolleyes1 ......

Ummm, I may be going next December 2010 instead of in May.... I know the MAYers will be outraged when they see this....

Love you guys... :flower3: It's not definate.

:snooty:

Thanks Pam! :goodvibes

We actually had some nice weather here last week and even Saturday it was 75, but now it's back to being cold again. But, it's still early March. Spring will find PA, eventually! :rotfl:

As far as I could see there is only that one photopass CM at DTD. We couldn't find any others. It is nice that they at least have one there now!

A lot of people still run to EE at opening. But it wasn't that bad. We were able to get right on and DH was able to get us fastpasses right away. So I don't think it is a bad as it used to be!
