The Kids Surprise Trip and Our Winter Weather Escape! ~With LOTS of pictures~

what kind of camera did you get? I am looking for a new one right now. We leave for Disney World the first week of May so I was wanting to get one before then. Any tips would help me greatly!!

I got a Sony Cyber-Shot 7.2 Megapixels. And I love it!! :lovestruc

This was the first time I was able to take pictures at night at WDW and they didn't come out all blurry! Wait til you see my Spectromagic pics! :thumbsup2

my sister recommende a sony cyber-shot to me as well. She loves hers.:thumbsup2 I can't wait to see the next set of pics. Loving your TR, and your other reports too. I had to read all of them!!!:yay:

Yes, I would definitely recommend it! :thumbsup2 The only negative about a Sony is that is takes a Memory Stick Pro-Duo instead of a regular memory card like all other digital cameras. Therefore you have to have a little adaptor thing to be able to insert it into your media reader on your computer. It's kind of a pain and mine doesn't always read the card on the first try. I am always able to load the pics eventually, but sometimes it take several tries.

Other than that I love my camera. :yay: And it's pink - not too many pink things in this house! :rotfl:

Saturday January 24th continued. . .

After lunch we went back to the room and got changed into our swimsuits and headed to that fabulous new pool! :cool1: It was about 80 degrees outside, perfect!

First we checked out the new children's pool. Very neat! pirate: It's like a mini waterpark! The water in the children's pool was a little cold. Too cold for me! Didn't seem to bother the kids. But later when they went in the main pool they did comment on how much warmer the water was in it.

After some time in the children's pool the kids were ready to head into the new main pool. It is very large and now has zero entry and 2 slides. The shorter open slide was great for DS7. And DS9 would not stay off the longer enclosed slide! He said it was the best water slide ever!! :goodvibes It was pretty great!

Great trip report thus far, I love the pictures keep them coming... you can never go overboard with pictures of WDW.

Saturday January 24th continued. . .

After our day at the pool we went back to the room to get ready for dinner and Spectromagic!

We were too early for dinner so we took the bus to MK then the monorail to the Poly. We spent about an hour shopping and exploring the Poly. Someday we are going to stay there, maybe even next year, not sure yet! What a beautiful place!

From there we took the monorail to MK. We had an early dinner ADR at the Plaza Restaurant at 4:30. I was hoping to be out of there before 5:30 so we could get a spot for Spectro that started at 7:00. We had never seen Spectro before! We've gone 1 to 1 1/2 hours prior on other trips and never been able to find a good spot. We are not exactly the tallest people so if we can't get a good spot in front we don't bother to stay and be frustrated that we can't see!

Dinner was very good at the Plaza but the service was very slow. We didn't get out of there until 5:45.

We're seeing Spectro & Wises for the first time this year. :cool1: I can't believe we haven't seen either. I hope you guys made it in time to find a great spot! :confused3

Saturday January 24th continued. . .

We came out of the Plaza at 5:45 to see that of course everyone had started staking out their spots for Spectomagic already! We wanted a spot on Main Street because we were leaving after Spectro since we had already seen Wishes earlier in the week. I did a quick scan up and down the street and spotted a small opening!! :woohoo: It was on the left side of the street if you are looking towards the castle. We made our way and quickly sat down to save our spots. We had some pleasant people to our left and a garbage can to our right. Then it started, the kids wanted to know just how long we were going to have to wait for the parade. And I had to break the news that it was going to be over an hour! They weren't very happy! They asked if my friend was coming so they could play with her DD's again like they did at Fantasmic. I remembered that Trixiequilts was probably going to be in MK that day so I tried to call her. Unfortunately the Verizon network that they proudly say is everywhere wasn't really with us much that week in Disney. :confused3 Never had a problem on any of our other trips. But we had poor reception all week this time. As it ended up Trixie and family were in line to see the Tink during that time anyway.

So I told the boys they were just going to have to entertain themselves and they didn't like that idea too much. Pretty soon they saw someone eating popcorn. popcorn:: Great! So off I went to find popcorn. I couldn't take one of them with me to help me carry it because they needed to stay and save the seats. It was getting very crowded at this point. I made my way up Main Street and found the popcorn cart, with a huge line! It seemed like I waited forever. DH said I was gone for a total of just over 20 minutes. It was worth it though, the popcorn kept the kids busy until the parade started!

Specto was awesome! I'm so glad we finally got to see it!

:lovestruc

You know how much I adore Spectro.:lovestruc

I love your pics. They are so good!

The kids and I were just listening to our Spectro CD on the way to school- and they were talking about playing games with one of the CM's before the start.
Waiting for the parade is never fun- but man- it is so worth it. :cloud9: And my kids never seem to mind too much...
as long as they can get in the middle of the road and play with some new "friends".:lovestruc

Thanks so much for sharing.

Glad you were able finally to see it--
too bad it wasn't from the Super Secret MAYer spot!:snooty: :cloud9: :snooty:

Thanks JO! :goodvibes I was very happy with how all my Spectro pics turned out! If I had used my old camera they would have all been a big blur!

You're lucky your kids don't mind waiting. My kids have very little patience. I don't know where they get such a thing. . . :rolleyes1

I didn't have to energy to go look for the super secret spot. I had a pretty good idea of where it was but I was sure it was probably already taken anyway!

I love these pics.:lovestruc

I especially love it when the white lights on everything turn to color, indicating the transition from black and white to color in tv and films.

Love it.

Such a cool parade.

Jo

The parade sure looked like more fun than our wait for Tink. Your boys really wouldn't have liked that wait! :scared:

Thanks for trying to call us, nonetheless. We would have loved to watch with you (and it was our original plan to see it that night). I'm glad you all really enjoyed it!

I love your Spectro pictures. It's my favorite! I tried to take pics, but we weren't in the best spot to do so. I'm still learning how to use my camera and I've had it since June!
