The I Love BWV (yes, Hallways and Clown Pool too!) Thread

oooh, if there is confirmation of a Keurig option , split machine, that's great news. I always bring our Keurig machine, and fixings, but would love to not have to drag it down there! will bring my own pods though.

I get you may want your own pods, but the coffee now included in the rooms is pretty good. Also, don't forget that there is now a coffee place (Carousel Coffee) in the lobby!

I seem to remember there being 3-4 pods and I think two ground bags that are typically 2-4 serving size. Honestly I never use the coffee they provide for a few reasons - not that it's bad - just that I may decide on wanting a lot or a little on any given morning, I like my coffee very strong, and I like fresh-ground beans - so I bring some beans and a grinder to do my own (I rarely use the k-cups except in a quick pinch like coffee the morning I'm leaving where I've already packed).

Wow - did a pig just fly by me? Did I just see the devil wearing a thick parka and lined gloves? Where'd that monkey behind me come from?

Nice that there will be an option for a quick meal on the Boardwalk when I'm there 9/13. This is making me an optimist - I'm thinking Cake Bake Shop really can open before the end of this decade.

GUYS! My dream (and wait-list!) came throught and we're finally getting to stay at a Boardwalk Villas Room!

Now, advice time: Do y'all have thoughts about which area to request for 1 bedroom Garden/Pool view? I figure there are folks here who have stayed a few times and have opinions on whether it's best to be close to the lobby vs EPCOT or other things I haven't thought of.

The map of BW Resort is here: https://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/BoardWalkMap.pdf.

The P/G villas are almost all on the left side of the building, looking at the map, with a few studios and four (yes, only 4) 1BR facing the Village Green. Also, most of the villas at the bottom of the map, facing the tennis courts, waterway, and parking lot, are P/G view.

IMHO, the villas facing the Luna Park pool complex are noisy, especially in the afternoon when activities are going on. Village Green can be noisy too. Unfortunately, those villas are closest to the single bank of elevators. Villas facing the quiet pool and probably the croquet lawn (also known as the event lawn) as well as the tennis courts are quiet too. They’re farther from the elevators, but if you can take stairways they provide quick exits toward DHS and the bus stop.

So, if you want near elevators, you’ll probably get a view of Luna Park. For quiet, request view of quiet pool or near tennis courts. I don’t see a way to have a quiet room near the elevators!

Unusual but does anyone know how many cubic feet the freezer portion of the fridge has? Don’t want to over or underpack the freezer, lol.
TIA.

Congrats! I guess it really depends on what you prefer or what the focus for your trip is. Is noise a big concern? Are you ok with using the stairs or is the elevator a must? Do you prefer to be closer to epcot or DHS?

Our trip was mainly focused on relaxing and not doing parks every day from rope drop to close so being close to certain parks wasn't a big factor, but DH and I did really enjoy being close to both DHS and Epcot. We found ourselves not really going to the lobby unless we needed to go to the busses. We usually took the elevator to the first floor to leave and come back. A couple of times we used the stairs just to explore. Lol

While it isn't a 1 bedroom, DH and I stayed in a studio with a pool/garden view last week and we loved our location. This was also our first time staying at this resort. We were in 5042 and faced the Luna Park pool. It was probably a few minute walk to the elevator to get to the lobby and pool. We didn't time it, but it didn't feel like it took forever to get to our room. And it was a less than 15 minute walk to DHS. We didn't go to DHS this trip, but it worked well for the times we went to different resorts since we took the buses to and from there. DH was convinced the walk was way longer before we walked there, but he was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't far at all.

We were able to see some of the fireworks at DHS from our balcony and then hopped on down to the boardwalk to catch some of the Epcot fireworks. It was great waking up and seeing ToT from our balcony. I also didn't find noise to really be an issue either, but we weren't in our room for too long. Usually up before the pool opens and back in the room around the time it closed or later and came back midday for the pool on our non-park days. But the weather played a factor because sometimes it rained which resulted in less to no people in the pool or lightning which closed the pool. So if you're staying in your room a lot, the noise could be an issue if you're facing the pool.

Hope this helps a little!

Thank you! I didn't even think about the possibility of seeing fireworks from the room, since I garden rooms don't face EPCOT. DHS fireworks never crossed my mind for some reason.

Looks like for 1 bedrooms, that's around 5040. I'd like to be close-ish to the elevators due to mobility issues, but we also aren't planning to hit the parks super hard during our trip.

I must say that is a better view than we have ever had!!! We are usually are just staring at people going up and down the slide.

Thanks for the photos!!

You're so welcome! DHS's fireworks aren't the most grand (at least from the room. Lol I don't know what they're like in the park), but I was happy to see something. I would definitely try for that room or close to it. It wasn't a bad walk to the elevator even after a long day of walking and dealing with the heat. I put in a request for 5044 through TP and was very happy with getting 5042. That was the other room I would've requested. I would happily take this room again.

You're welcome! I was in awe when I opened up the curtains to see such a stunning view! It's really lovely before the pool opens. ToT is a lot closer than my pics make it look. I was super pleased with this room.

gorgeous view!! We were just under you on the third floor though I forget the exact room number, but similar view albeit more trees in the way. We did not find a room facing the Luna Park pool to be exceptionally noisy at all.

Congratulations!! I cobbled together a stay over MDW this year between waitlisting and stalking, and it was our first stay at BWV. We loved it and I'm sure you will too!
