The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s Boardwalk Nearing Completion

Construction of The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s Boardwalk is finally nearing completion. Crews have been installing lighting fixtures, signs, and other details.

Construction site enclosed by white panels with signs for The Cake Bake Shop that say Coming Soon. The area is located along a boardwalk with some people walking by.

In March 2024, we reported that The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s Boardwalk started hiring for multiple positions. In May, the golden “The Cake Bake” signs were installed above the entrances. In our previous construction update, more roofing and walls were completed.

On our latest visit, we noticed that lighting fixtures were installed and had power, twinkly lights surrounding The Cake Bake Shop wordmark on the main entrance signs, and more details.

On the first floor, large lighting fixtures are affixed to the exterior walls in between the windows. The lights look like oversized lanterns.

A boardwalk with construction walls featuring artwork and signage. Several people walk along the boardwalk in front of large, colonial-style buildings under a cloudy sky.
The plastic that was protecting the signs has now been removed, revealing the bright gold letters and filigree. There have also been five white lights installed at each entrance point above the signs.

A white building with an ornate gold sign reading The Cake Bake Shop and another sign below it reading Restaurant. Four light fixtures are mounted above the top sign.

Here is a closer look at the restaurant entrance sign. Other than a few spots of spackle on the facade, the exterior has been painted entirely white. Around the The Cake Bake Shop sign are tiny holes housing twinkling lights. Earlier, we saw crews testing these lights. This certainly adds a whimsical touch to the otherwise flat design.

A white, two-story building with a sign that reads Cake Bake Shop is under construction, surrounded by a white fence with images of desserts and a smiling woman.

It does appear that the roofing has been completed. Our reporter noted being able to see lights on inside the restaurant. We also have been told that there are already lockers in place for future employees backstage.

A restaurant called Cake Bake with white fencing around the entryway and promotional images of desserts and people displayed on the temporary barriers. The building behind is large and white with multiple windows.

There are small white speakers installed just below the overhang. These speakers will likely play ambient music like most of the other spots on Disney’s BoardWalk.

A building with a section under construction, surrounded by trees and a paved walkway. Several people are walking nearby, and the sky is cloudy.

IMO replacing ESPN with this is one of the worst Disney ideas in recent memory.

It was great to catch a game, get some good pub food etc.

Just what WDW needs... more cakes and sweets lol

Just finished booking my two reservations for next September. Only a tiny surprised that no standard view was available but more surprised no boardwalk view was available.

Either way, glad the 2 bedroom and studio are reserved, back to bed!

Have our first Boardwalk stay at the end of March using our new Boardwalk contract. We were able to get a 2 bedroom villa with a Boardwalk view. I have questions about what requests I should add to it to maximize the experience. Do those rooms face both DHS and EPCOT, just one of them? What request do I add to get a view of the night time shows? Thanks for the help.

BW view rooms will have a view of high fireworks at Epcot and also MK fireworks in the distance across the lake. They do not face Studios. The best views are from higher floors. The rooms furthest from the elevators also have better views than those close to the elevators, though some people don’t like the longer walk to the end of the BW view hallway. Personally the extra walk never bothered me at all, but YMMV.

I agree with above. I always request high floor for the best view but also to minimize noise from the activity on the Boardwalk itself as well as the Friendship Boats sounding their horns, although with balcony doors closed it’s not usually a problem. Also, some of the lowest floor balconies are enclosed by solid railing, so when seated you can’t see much other than sky. Most of the 2BR villas are at the far end of the wing, so your view is of the top of Spaceship Earth and the high fireworks.

Thought I’d share. Found online.

This Cake Bake location will share her vision of high quality food paired with gorgeous interior details that will combine a mix of culinary and visual delight.

The lights on the menu board as well as the sign up top blink and shimmer in delight.

As a Jerseyan, I miss the original clown. It gave real Asbury Park Tilly vibes.
I grew up in New Orleans, going to an amusement park called Pontchartrain Beach. They had a very similar clown icon, so the BWV slide always reminded me of the fun times we had at the Beach. I miss that clown, too.
