The "I am Banned from VMK" Thread.

i did and they said "Sorry, we cannot answer that question." I really dont want to bebanned for 30 days, maybe a week but not 30 days.

My friends computer got banned last year for 10 years but she just changed her IP address and now she's back on her original account and everything.

If you were banned for 10 years VMK staff is telling you that you have shown the inability to follow the guidelines that you agreed to follow when you signed up for VMK.

Changing your IP address is like asking someone to help you make a fake ID if your drivers license has been suspended for life. You have been locked out of the game. I am sorry for this, but maybe you need to look at WHY instead of trying to work around it.

btw, it is a very known fact that vmk staff reads these boards, meaning, they most likely now know that you are working on changing your IP address to get around a 10 year ban.

Obviously, if you did not do any of the things that you received a 10 year ban for, then you should call VMK staff and discuss that issue with them, instead of just changing your IP address.

And if you are the only person in the house who plays VMK, no, it does not sound stupid to me.

Committing the crime and looking for a get out of jail free card sounds pretty stupid to me.

Most of their parents are clueless when it comes to computers and hook up unsecured wireless routers. so it is always possible that a neighbor did the deed. You are assuming guilt on the part of the injured party when we do not know all the facts. That is akin to the neighbor taking your car without your knowledge and getting it impounded, again, does that mean you should never drive again?

while it is possible, it is still more likely the person who got the ban did the deed. 90% of these posts say they didnt do anything wrong, and as we ask questions we see they usually did something wrong, just dont realize its wrong. the other 10% I feel their pain.

I think that was my point though aengus, the poster I was responding to was automatically assigning guilt and was scolding the poster he responded to. 10% though, sheesh, thats an awfully high number of innocents who got banned. Imagine if 10% of inmates were sentenced to jail for crimes the did not commit.... scary indeed.

but back to my original point. IP bans are silly. Whether or no someone else in the household plays, you are automatically saying: "Well, your brother is a criminal so you must be one too, so we are going to throw you in jail as a precaution."

thats why i hate it when my friends have my account on their computer. tho my friend got banned and i didnt get banned bc i was on my computer. my friend got banned for telling ppl her mom was HOST_Lily

That is about a fair ban. Not exactly impersonating staff, but still looking for special treatment from a lie.

Why? let's see I was on VMK for a total of first minutes, and I saw
Davey I gave Davey a hug and when I tried to login again I saw the
you-have-been-banned message. I was really sad because I wanted to become a community leader more than anything I was up crying, but most of my friends at the dis chatrooms made me feel alot better thanks you guys, and
see everyone in a month!

Yes, because I believe they should NOT ban you at all for saying a word with it's meant meaning that they have in the dictionary. Why let us say it if we are threatened to be banned when we do so?

On Friday evening, I thought I would try a few player quests. In one of the quests the next task told me to go to the Esplanade. As soon as I got into the room a room warning came up telling everone not to give out personal information. I didn't think much of it since I had just entered the room and has not even uttered a single word since logging on...I finished the quest and decided to got through my messages. Imagine my surprise when I found the following message from VMK staff!!

"Please don't give out personal information. Even telling what grade you just finished, or are going in to is not a good idea. Keep it safe please."

I just don't know what to think of this...should I be concerned and contact VMK? I was only in the Esplanade long enought to click on next task and then was gone!!
