Also a WDW trip (of course) and trying to figure out somewhere different to go where we haven't been, somewhere appropriate for an eight year old...
Heading back to Palm Springs and Disneyland (of course :p)

Input appreciated.
We're looking at April 2014 :crazy2:

Love your work.

I'm not sure if I mentioned the little bit of back pain I've been having recently, but it turned out to be an abcess on my kidney :crazy2: so on Wednesday I was admitted into hospital to get it drained. Fingers crossed I'll be out on Christmas Eve.

Anyhoo, there's a 90 year old lady in one of the beds across from me, she's not going to make it home for Christmas this year, which is sad enough as it is, but her daughters organised for some people from her church to come and play some Christmas Carols for her.

It's a bit heart breaking... :sad1: It's nice to know she has such a loving family though.

omg bec -- that's terrible news for you. hope you recover soon and get back to your family before xmas.

so heartbreaking for the older lady across from you... glad to hear that her family is so lovely :)

Bec - that is terrible news! I do hope all ends up ok for you and you are home by Christmas. Take care (I know - difficult in hospital..!! :) ) and rest!
Hugs to you!

Bec - look after yourself! And get well soon.

If nothing else.....this might be the perfect opportunity to break out P&P. :thumbsup2

Still in hospital today, waiting to go down for a follow up ultrasound to see if everything is all fixed.

I just want it to hurry up, so I know if I'm going home today or not.

Tomorrow's meal selection is sitting on my table, and I'm putting off filling it out because it's so depressing! I don't want to accept the possibility of needing meals here tomorrow...

Sorry Bec-this doesn't cheer you up any, but thought the food porn lovers might need some tidbits to keep them salivating until Xmas day tomorrow...

Anyone in SE Qld I can highly recommend this place-nice sitting on the deck with cool breezes looking over the fields and vines. Their own wines are very nice. Just a horrible twisty road up the mountain from Dayboro. We have gone several times and its always been very good.

Surely they will let you home! I think they only keep those that absolutely have to be there over Christmas! Crossing everything for you!!!

Oh i remember that feeling of being kept prisoner. Its truly terrible.

Know that you can always leave of your own volition. They cannot keep you there against your will so if you feel up to it, go home and be with your family for xmas and if you need to you can go back in after xmas.

I had to sign myself out of my local hospital earlier in the year when they were just holding me for observation.. Just keep it as an option :)

I'm still here and I was extremely upset when they told me I had to stay, however I've come to terms with it and know that I'm here because I need to be.

I'm still holding onto the hope that they let me go tomorrow - nice and early in the morning - but there are definitely worse things that could be happening to me, so here's to looking on the bright side! :rotfl:

If they thought you'd be OK they would let you come home so yeah, you have to trust them to know best. I hope your family can come in laden with their gifts to open with you in the am but I know its not the same. As you say there are lots of others in similar situations or worse off. Since I had DD just before Xmas as a caesar I had to stay in and actually had a lovely Xmas day to my surprise but maternity is a bit different to a normal hospital ward. I was touched by one acquaintance (now a good friend) who was single and made the effort to come in Xmas Eve as she said she thought I'd have few visitors after hubby went home since everyone would be busy with their families-and she was right. It was lovely. Wishing you sweet dreams and a speedy recovery so you are home soon with your family.

Sorry to hear you have not been well Bec! Hope they let you out for Christmas Day. It's not pleasant being in for a holiday! I had my appendix out one year on my birthday. Was admitted to hospital at midnight and was wheeled into surgery with them constantly asking my birthdate and they would say "oh, that's today, that's bad luck". Yep, all I wanted was cake, LOL.

Anyway hope you are on the mend soon :flower3:
