The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

hmmm???

What happened there? Alex said the brown word and then went POOF??

Nah, just distracted with chasing the kids to bed. I was at least successful with one of them.

Difficult night? Always hard for them to wind down after a weekend. I had to nag mine off to shower and bed a few hours ago.

High school start time is very early, J leaves the house at 6:30 for the bus yawn.

Ohhhh lord.

We just heard a funny on Desperate Housewives. Mrs. McClusky told Eydie's new husband that she and Eydie have a unique relationship where they insult each other, and it's all in fun. "For instance, I'll say something like 'Eydie, you're easier to get into than a community college' and she'll tell me my face looks like a knee..."

DH was :rotfl2: and said, "I'm gonna have to remember that one."
I snorted and said, "Who on earth would you say such a thing to???"

Now he's sort of looking forward to the next time our kooky neighbor starts speaking to him... :scared1:

The one good thing about motocross on Sunday's. My kids are in bed by 8pm at the latest.:lmao: They can barely stay awake during dinner.

DD has to get up at 5am for her college classes. Her and her bff leave here at 6am so they can get to class by 7am.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I would so love to see her face when he says that to her.:rotfl2:

The boys were kinda wild and sassy today. I guess being good while I was sick took its toll on the poor boogers. :rotfl2:

OMG! I'm watching the Girls Next Door and Pamela Anderson just brought birthday cake to Hef while wearing only her birthday suit! Dang, she really doesn't look that great in her birthday suit. She probably looks good for her age, and certainly looks better than I do. But really, I think she looks better with her clothes on. So I guess there's hope for me yet!:lmao:

One of the larger districts in the south metro area is planning to push back the high school start time to 8:30, citing the research that teens need more sleep.

The problem that most districts face.. bus service is shared among all schools.. they can't adjust that late without affecting elementary bus schedules. We don't have much sunlight in winter to push the start time earlier, which is a safety concern with the younger kids.

High schools SHOULD be the last to be let out for the day...less time to be foolish before parents get home. :rolleyes1

So how is everyone's evening? popcorn::

My bf and I watched Miracle at St. Anna awhile ago. It was a really good film directed by Spike Lee. There was a little boy in the film that was so cute and he made me teary eyed in some scenes. :sad1: Oh and we got really really awful tasting coke from the concession stand at the theatre. I think that machine in particular was broken or had a faulty line. I told that manager that it tasted really bad and had a weird smell. It also was not carbonated at all. He said: "Really?" he tried it and also made a face. :rotfl: Then he got us a new soda from another station. Oh and while I was trying to walk out of the theatre with the bad drink, I tripped over a small step (it was so dark and I couldn't see at all) and spilled the soda all over myself. I just went to the restroom and wiped it off. :sad2: At least I was able to show the manager the receipt though. :rolleyes1
