QOTD While being taught the proper pronunciation of goose liver, I said, No matter how you say it, it still tastes like crap!
The Score Thus Far
# Attractions We've Rode 31
# Shows We've Seen 7
# Parades We've Seen 1
# Fireworks We've Seen 2.5
# Changes To Our Original Plan 10
This was our second free day, and for the second day in a row, no alarm clock!
After rolling out of bed, we headed over to the Magic Kingdom to ride the rides we missed on Thursday. We were able to ride Splash Mountain before hitting the first real crowds of our trip. We wanted to ride Peter Pan, Pooh, the Indy Cars but they all lines over 40 minutes long, and Fast Pass was for late afternoon, and we had a 2:00 Couples Instructional Massage scheduled.
So we went to the Pinocchio Village Haus for some lunch, and then a walk around the park to kill time before leaving for the Grand Floridian. But Mother Nature had other plans, and we were caught in the rain again!
After the rain let up, we headed over to the spa. Wow, what a nice place, very professional. But unfortunately, DW is pregnant, and they will not do the massage during the first trimester. Huh? You see, when I made the reservation in August, DW wasnt pregnant, so I ignored the question, Is your wife pregnant? So, no Couples Instructional Massage for us, and Change #11!
But heres where the fine folks at the spa really shine. In lieu of the two hour program, DW received a one hour facial (which she enjoyed tremendously), and I had a one hour massage (awesome!). Talk about being flexible and willing to work with the you, the folks at the Grand Floridian Spa are truly First Class!
After the spa, we headed back to OKW to prepare for dinner at the Wilderness Lodge. First, let me just say that the Wilderness Lodge is, IMHO, the best themed resort in WDW. Second, the Christmas decorations are second to none! The tree is phenomenal!
After walking around the grounds, we checked out the menu for Artist Point and decided it wasnt appealing to us. Change #12 dinner at the Whispering Canyon Café! This place is everything the DIS boards said it would be, and then some! We had a waiter who really got into things, but could tell we just wanted to be left alone and have a nice quiet meal (our table was across from the fireplace in the back). His other table was a large one with three kids next to ours, and we ordered the same time they did. Our waiter always served us first in a normal manner, then served the big table with all of the antics and gags for the kids! Very nice that he kept things quiet for us!
After dinner, it was time to head back to the room and start packing. Sigh, the trip is coming to a close.
Ten days down, one more to go!
