Do my kids fight? :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: They drive me nuts with their constant bickering and such. Makes me :crazy2: . Makes DH :crazy2: :crazy2: er.

See I had to ask..In all those beautiful pictures you posted, your kids looked so happy and like they actually got along LOL;) As I was reading I kept thinking "Gosh I hope my 2 older kids are that happy when we are there"

On our first trip in 10/05 they were so excited to be going and they really got along beautifully. Everything was new and exciting. This past trip, 9/06 they constantly gave each other little digs and such. I think it was worse for a couple of reasons: it wasn't a 'new' experience and they are older...DS has those middle school hormones and emotions. He is like his own rollercoaster. DD was born with an attitiude; she never gives him a break.

OMG... do we have the same kids??? My 12 yr old son is the same way. One minute he is this sweet helpful kid who would give you the shirt off his back. The next minute, he acts like the whole world hates him and has the "Poor Me" syndrome. My 7 yr old daughter, well she is just as well call "The wild child"...She is mean to the bone on some occasions, expecially to her brother:crazy2: ..She is sweet as pie when she wants something. But, just let her brother say one wrong thing to her, and its war.. Its so frustrating. We are driving.. so its a long way from Va Beach to Florida LOL... Lucky they each got their own dvd player to watch different movies. I wouldnt want to subject my 12 yr old to watching disney movies, over and over and over again

So...Yes, Yes, Yes they fought but not for long periods and the fun definately outshone the bad. My DH and I swapped off riding with each child and each other and also who we sat with at eating times. We tried to let them take turns on picking what attraction/ride we would do next.

My DD tends to get especially rude and nasty when she is tired or hungry.

OMG... this is my 7 yr old daughter to a tee... I swear I think we have the same kids :lmao:
One thing we did do that helped was to take a break each day. Go back to the room- cool off- rest, swim, watch TV, have a snack.

We do this too, expecially having a 2 yr old, its a must.

When they would start to get nasty with each other I make them stand nose to nose, forehead to forehead, eye to eye with their arms around each other. It takes about 3 seconds and they are giggling and apologizing with each other. Works everytime....so far.:rolleyes2

I am going to have to try this...:thumbsup2

I say Good luck...you are outnumbered:eek: ...3 kids!!!! Just kidding.:rotfl: You all will have a blast even with a little bickering.

Actually we are outnumbered, but the little one is the best behaved one of the 3....shhhhh, dont tell them I told you.. she is the most easy going 2 1/2 yr , and a Mickey Lover just like her mommy....Its hard to talk about going to Disney with her now, as she thinks we are going NOW.....

Ok, my husband isnt so excited about this trip as I am.. unfortunately he just does not feel the magicpixiedust: .. he calls it an over priced working vacation....he thinks it takes a lot of work to be at Disney....

Hi cherokeemama - just wanted to say I LOVED your trip report. Your kids are so cute and you all look so happy together! I'm going to Tokyo Disney in a few days - do you mind if I copy the cute pose your daughter does when posing with characters? Where she sticks her arm and foot out? SO CUTE!

Thanks for sharing your trip with us!

yay, It's nice to see you're back. You had us hanging there for a long time! Sounds lie the party was loads of fun. I love all the pictures with the characters dressed up!

Your kids are the cutest!! I have 2 teenage DSs and although they love Disney, the pictures I take on vacation don't reflect that. They aren't smiling very much because they don't care for all the pictures I make them pose for. Your kids smiles just light up the room. They look so happy to be there.

Can't wait for your next installment!!:surfweb:

I love your TR! Your pictures are great. I thought the Tea Party was great. I am going end of Aug 2008, after reading your TR, I'm thinking of changing to Sept. Did you have to wait in any lines?

Can I butt in . . .:tiptoe:
I was there the same week as CM, and the lines were great. We didnt have to wait more than 20mins for anything. We did get to the parks early and rode the hot rides first though. But throughout the day, the lines weren't bad at all.

Cherokeemama - Waiting on that next installment...;) ;)

Just checking in! We are probably going to be in WDW September 13-19 of this year - we will DEFINITELY be there is there is free dining...I just can't wait any longer - it's been over a year and two months now for us and I'm getting the shakes!

Keep up the good work!!! I'm lovin it!

We woke up really early this morning considering how late we had been up last night. Although we were still very tired we knew it was our last full day and we had to take full advantage of it. While we were getting dressed DH went to finalize our rental car arrangements.

We had flown down on passes so we had to fly stand by and the flights going home from Orlando were really full. We felt doubtful that we would have a seat on any of those flights. We knew there were many more open seats leaving from Tampa. Our plan was to get a rental car and drive to Tampa tomorrow afternoon and catch an early evening flight back to Atlanta. I had contacted Alamo earlier in the week so DH was using the concierge to finalize our arrangements. The CM he dealt with was very helpful. The Alamo people would have someone pick us up from the CR at 5 pm. We did have a problem with our ADR, however. The original plan was to eat at Coral Reef at 4:30 so we had to cancel those arrangements :guilty: and decided we would play it by ear for dinner.

DH & I really wanted to see the American Experience at Epcot and I still wanted to explore the World Showcase. Then we would go to CR get the rental and then go to MK. We still had not seen SpectroMagic…which is a must do for us. Somehow, I just feel I have to end my trip at the MK. :thumbsup2

Everything was arranged. It was an absolutely beautiful day; probably the best day, weather wise of our trip. We arrived at Epcot and the crowds seemed very low, big poufy clouds, nice breeze, low humidity….perfect! :goodvibes We had a great morning and afternoon. We did Spaceship Earth, Mission Space, Soarin’, Figment and played on all the machines at the Kodak lab. We loved morphing ourselves into monkeys and tigers. We are kinda cute…don’t cha think. I am saving these for show & tell with the kid’s future dates…hehehe:lmao:

We did purchase a fun family picture that looks like we are floating in space with Goofy and Mickey. That took up quite a bit of time but it was fun. We had to remember to pick it up later in the afternoon. We made our way into the World Showcase and we were all starving at this point. We wanted to eat at the fish and chips place in England. Unfortunately it was closed .It was quickly approaching the time for American Experience and it was do it or forget it. I really wanted to see this not sure my kiddos agreed. We did make it in plenty of time. We enjoyed looking around the building. I guess it was 15 – 20 minutes before the show and this singing group came out. Voices of Liberty….oh my gosh!!! They were fantastic. We really enjoyed them especially DH. He sings in our church choir so he really appreciates picking out the harmonies. We all thought they were just fantastic…

It was on into the auditorium. There are several statues, approx. 18 or so, that lined the room. They are very beautiful and worth taking the time to look at. They each capture a part of the American spirit
The Spirit of…Compassion…Discovery…Individualism…Heritage…etc.
I had to take a picture of the Heritage statue since it is an American Indian woman and my ancestors are Cherokee. It touched me because all too often the Native Americans are forgotten about.

disneysept06-041.jpg

The show started soon after we were seated and we all enjoyed it very much. DD did sleep through some of it but what she saw she did enjoy. I could see younger children being bored somewhat with this but I do recommend it. At the end of the show there are many clips from our nations history…I found it to be is very moving, patriotic & inspiring.:thumbsup2

We were now really starving so we decided to eat at the American Pavilion (sorry can’t remember the name).popcorn:: We shared 2 CS here and had good ol’ American Burgers and FF as well as s’mores. The food was okay…not bad…but not especially good either. We then watched a few minutes of the Drum & Fife group.
disneysept06-037.jpg

We wondered throughout the WS enjoying each country. We met a couple of characters along the way. My DS loved when Belle told him ‘he looked strong and handsome like Gaston but she could tell he was much nicer’.
disneysept06-032.jpg

We then met Gheptto:
disneysept06-046.jpg

We rode Maelstrom, shopped a bit and picked up some pastries at the Norway bakery…YUM!!!

We realized it was getting late and we must hurry to get to the CR by 5 pm. We almost forgot to pick up our picture from the Kodak lab at the Imagination Pavilion. We were very concerned with making it to get our picture and then to the monorail. Our DS volunteered to go get it because #1 he is faster than the rest of us and #2 DD was in complain mode and was in no way wanted to “hurry”. So Justin was off on his own.. Once I lost sight of him I began to fret. Were we crazy letting him go off alone? :guilty: The worried mommy took over my brain and the ‘what ifs” started. We had of course, set up a designated spot for a designated time but I was in full worried mode long before time for him to be back. The time came for him to be back and he wasn’t …I told DH I am going to look for him. The park seemed much more crowded than earlier today and I am thinking all of the crazy thoughts that only mothers think. Then off in the distance I see a Goofy hat on an adorable kid and all of a sudden my heart felt lighter as relief washed over me. :cheer2: I was so thankful to see him. He explained how busy the Imagination Pavilion was and how he had to wait in a long, slow line. We found DD and DH and all headed to the monorail.

The train was there as we started up the platform. It is so far, it is so hot; it is taking so long to get there. Will we make it? We are dragging DD and DH up the ramp…Go people…hurry!!!! We are running out of time. Aaaahhhh…. we made it. Then we realized we are getting on the WRONG MONORAIL. Oh!!! *^%@#$%^&.!!!!! :sad2:
Back down the ramp and over to the next ramp running and once again dragging DD and DH. Sweating, breathing hard (or should I say barely breathing)….Finally we made it. Yes! this is the right train.
Oh my gosh I think I am going to pass out! We are all exhausted. I think people are staring at us.

We have all gotten a little cooler and caught our breath just as we approach the CR. We make our way outside and there is no cab or Alamo vehicle for us. I call Alamo to let them know we are a few minutes late getting to CR and the rep I am talking to informs me they do not have any record of us or our reservation. WHAT!!!! No reservation! No record! You have got to be kidding me! Well, DH more or less blows up…he is furious. :furious: He said the CM at POP called and he stood there while he made the reservation. Alamo denied any record of a phone call or reservation. He was not a happy camper…no, no, no. The NY’er in my DH is coming out! DD was mortified that he was so angry and expressing himself, rather loudly and openly to Alamo in the lobby of the CR. Finally, the Alamo rep tells us she can send us a cab but we will have to pay OOP. DH is now more furious!!!! :furious: &*”:^%#$*(*&^%^%!!! He demands that they pay and she tells him it will be taken off our rental. Ok…we can live with that. After all we have canceled Coral Reef, rushed like maniacs out of Epcot and basically cut our day in half to get the car. We wait for just a few minutes and we are picked up.
We arrive at Alamo and it is 5:45 and they close at 6 pm. You realize when you enter this facility that they are definitely not part of Disney. It is Customer NO Service here …you know what I mean. They are doing you a favor by waiting on you. Well this is the part that really turns ugly or should I say dumb. Maybe the title for this day should be the Hill Family gets Dumb and Dumber ( I think that is what I will call it hahaha). We fill out all appropriate paper work and start to hand over the CC when he asks for the drivers license. Oh No, I do not have the driver’s license. I cannot believe I have done something so stupid. I have left my drivers license in the room safe and so has DH.. There is no solution except have them pick us up in the morning first thing. That is how we left it. They would pick us up at 7:30 am at POP. Now, how will we get back CR or MK? They finally agree to have someone take us to the TTC. We feel like the stupid people of the world. What a waste of precious Disney Vacation Time.

We arrive at the TTC and feel completely confused as to where we are. :confused3 We are in the middle of a parking lot and everything looks completely strange. We have never seen this area before…or have we? We stand there like 4 lost puppies…where do we go? What do we do? Now I know those of you are saying what do you mean….Where are you? For some reason we envision that we are in the parking lot of the MK (just the MK) and we could take the tram to the MK. I know…we had a case of the dumb***, as my daddy would say. We get on this tram and there are several people on with us. We think we are heading to the entrance gate of the MK. We then realize we are heading into the parking lot…not away from it. We have to get off this tram. Stop this thing and let us off. Get disembark from the tram and look at each other with the most dumbfounded looks. What the heck just happened? We are standing in the parking lot near the Minnie section and laughing like fools. We all feel completely stupid. We have had one mess up after another…what has happened to our brains? I think I know….too much sun, too much chocolate and too many roller coasters. Oh well…we must get back to the MK. That is the goal. We start walking back toward the TCC. We saw a CM as we started to enter a walkway tunnel thingy. He was very helpful and we now realize we needed to get on the monorail. I think we finally get it.:thumbsup2

Whew! That left me exhausted! But it's great to see that I am not alone in having crazy tiring things happen to me at WDW! (I just choose to leave them out of my reports. :rolleyes1 )

Love the crazy animal pics! :lmao:

Believe it or not...I had the second part of this crazy day all posted and I just had finished inserting the pictures. When I went to check and see if everything showed up as planned I get a message the the Dis will be closed for updates!!! When I tried to go back and somehow save my stuff it was gone so I lost it. (not my mind...just the posting;) ) This was around 11:40 last night. I just gave in and went to bed.

Thankfully, I have it saved :thumbsup2 so that is not a problem it just takes time inserting all the pics and such...but you already know that.
Will get the rest up soon.

Have a great day ya'll!:goodvibes

What a Day!!! All that running and it seems like you got nowhere! As frustrating as it was, you at least could laugh about it. :rotfl2:

As for DH's temper...yeah, New Yorkers (and New Jerseyans, like me) aren't known for holding their tongues. :sad2: Hope he calmed down quickly.

popcorn:: Can't wait to read the rest. popcorn::

Yes! YIPPEE!! We eventually arrive at the MK. :cool1:

The crowd here is unbelievable. I now know why Epcot was so empty. It is because all of the people are here!!! The most crowded I have ever experienced. We made our way down Main St. and remembered that the final performance at WDW of Cinderellabration.. It was really packed. We found a spot and watched it for a while. My children were exhausted and so sad that we were going home tomorrow. :sad1: You can see it in their faces. These pictures make me sad all over again.

We are hungry again and we wanted to eat at Pinocchio Haus in Fantasyland. My DH and I shared a Panini with chips, DS had a pizza with a salad (which he gave to DD) and DD had the mac & Cheese. We shared a cannoli. We also had an order of the Figaro fries. I had read so much about the fries but I did not think they lived up to the hype. IMHO They look better than they taste.

The food here was really very good and a nice break from hamburgers. We sat at the tables overlooking the loading area for IASW and my DD and DS enjoyed people watching and waving at all of those folks. I thought it was nice to just sit. I didn’t want to get too full because I still had not had a Dole Whip and was determined to have one before I left the MK.

We knew we had to get us a spot for Spectro so we found an area in the hub, to the right side of the castle. My DS and I headed off to get Dolewhips and Root beer floats (can you imagine my kids do not like pineapple:confused3 ). We ordered and took possession of our yummy treats and began making our way back to DH and DD to wait for Spectro. Our cups were very full…filled to the brim. It is a good distance from Adventure Land to the far side of the castle. Our treats were melting and dripping quickly. DS was stressed about how full they were but he & I laughed about it and tried to drink them down as we walked. We finally saw DD and DH…OK we made it. Well, then DS dripped some of his on the lady and she was so rude about it. It was only a tiny bit (mostly on her arm) but the way she reacted you would have thought he poured the whole thing on her. We offered her some wet wipes and he apologized more than once. She was furious and my DS looked like he wanted to sink into the ground because of the looks she was giving him. We suggested he go over by the shrubs at the back of where we were standing and pour a bit out so he would not spill more. When he did this the entire contents spilled out. I felt so badly for him…I thought he was going to cry. I was just typical for the day we had had.

Soon SpectoMagic started and it was great fun. All of the craziness and stress of the afternoon melted and the magic returned to us. pixiedust:

I really love this parade. (My advice is to definitely do during the week if at all possible and not on a weekend)

As the parade was going on another kid spilled his drink on the evil, nasty lady. She had another pissy, hissy fit . I mean if you don’t like kids and can’t stand a little sugar on your pants why come to DisneyWorld? For Pete’s sake, don’t sit near kids.
I hope I never become like that woman:sad2: .

Anyway, we had a ton of fun and loved the parade. After it ended I took DD and DS into Tomorrow Land to try and ride Buzz or SM. For the last 7 days everything had been walk on; no more than a 10 minute wait. Now, Buzz was a 40 minute wait and SM was even worse. We decided we just couldn’t do it because we would miss Wishes. The kids wanted me to take a picture of them jumping for joy so here it is…

disneysept06-140.jpg

We went back to meet up with DH (he was saving us a spot) and we watched Wishes…

disneysept06-155.jpg

I get a lump in my throat every time. It was beautiful and so sad because I knew it would be a long time before we experienced it again. It was really a bittersweet moment. We hung back a while and let the crowd rush out before us.

We took our time making our way down Main St. We stopped in the bakery and picked up cinnamon rolls and chocolate croissants for breakfast. :cloud9: We stopped to take a few pictures as we headed out.

disneysept06-142.jpg

disneysept06-162.jpg

I really don’t remember the bus ride so I would say it was uneventful. Once we got back to POP I had promised the kids that they could swim a bit and they did. After we got back to our room I started the dreadful task of packing…well at least a little bit. I have to get up in a few hours to deal with Alamo again. Believe me when I say I was asleep before my head hit the pillow.

Up next..MGM, SciFi, the Tampa Bay and finally back to GA

Wow - I'm worn out just reading that!! What a day. I hope the evening at MK is a little more relaxing (well as relaxing as being in a theme park can be ;) )

ETA: Boy your fast - you posted that next installment before I could even finishing typing this little reply! Sorry about the pissy lady at MK, some people really need to learn how to relax! I've never watched the Spectro parade - I'm really going to have to put that on my list, my kids are just not much into the parades - they think it wastes too much park time!

Oh Cmomma, what a day! I just need to :grouphug: your family for getting through it! But I'm glad to see it did get ironed out in the end and you enjoyed your evening. :thumbsup2

I love the pics of the kids at the end of the night - were they getting punchy?!

Uh-oh, no one ever told me they have CANNOLI at Pinnochio's place! I know where I'm eating lunch next MK trip! :cloud9:

I just found your TR the other day and I am now caught up. Your kids have beautiful smiles and it shows how happy they are! I have enjoyed reading your TR. It is great to read that other families also enjoy WDW as much as ours and that you had a fantastic trip. I am also sorry for the "Dumb & Dumber" factor of the final full day at WDW.

We also went to MNSSHP in October 2006 and really enjoyed the parade, especially the grave diggers.

Thank you again for sharing your family adventures!! :thumbsup2

What and exhausting day at Disney. Aggravation is just draining. Anyway that food looks sooo good, my mouth is watering right now. I put that on the list for October and seeing IASW is a plus for the kids too.

I love, love, love your TR! I am so sad that it is all coming to an end soon. :sad2: Sounds like you all had one heck of a day!! The two pictures of your children looking a bit sad because it is almost over, was really touching. It almost brought tears to my eyes! I guess partially because it's always sad to realize your vacation (especially at WDW) is ending soon and partially because your DS and DD always look so happy in your pictures! :mickeyjum Anyway, thanks for the wonderful installments, you are doing an awesome job!!

What a fun TR :cutie: I am looking forward to your MGM installment. 50s PTC was one of our favorites! Thanks for sharing,
TK
