Now for the desserts
the "pre-dessert" course was a plate of various cheeses.
2 Year Aged Gouda, Beaufort, Epoisses, and English Stiliton Cheesecake & dried fig. This was the only dissappointment of the evening. As a cheese fan I was excited going into this course, but these cheeses were not quite to my liking. Katharine strongly agreed with me! Enough on that, on to the good stuff:
After a pleasant, lengthy discussion with Aimee, she told us she was going to surprise us with the dessert course. Oh my, did she ever!
Dessert course one:
These were the deserts on the menu for the evening
Katharine had Caramel Cheesecake, Warm Almond Chocolate Timbale, & Tiramisu
I had Minature Chocolate Pyramid, Warm Almond Chocolate Timbale, & Orange Chocolate Napolean
for what reason, i do not know, but I did not get a full plate shot of mine
Katharine's caramel cheescake was very rich, creamy texture. drizzled with golden carmel, that was just the perfect consistency to add to the flavor. It melted in your mouth and finished very smooth.
The Warm Almond Chocolate Timbale, was not as memorable, but it was to be more than made up for shortly. This was more like a dry cake, with very little flavor IMHO.
Now the Tiramisu was DW's favorite. She has had many, and when I saw the eyes roll into the back of her head with the 1st bite, I knew I better quickly steal a taste. WOW, very nicely prepared with all the flavors lightly complimenting each other. The firmness of the mascrapone cheese added a delicious contrast that was creamy and smooth.
As for me, well the Minature Chocolate Pyramid was something I had tasted on our last visited, DW had it for desert and I of course stole a bite, or two

So to have one to myself this time was quite enjoyable. This is the lightest chocolate I have ever tasted. With a strong "coco" like flavor it melts like ice cream on your tongue. It is presented with sliced strawberries and slivers of gold flakes on top. I'm sure the strawberries were intended to compliment the tast, but why disturb fine chocolate with fruit
If this dessert course would have been the finale, it would have been a delightful finish, but nothing at Disney can just be finished, it has to be more than you ever dreamed. I think that is what we like so much about Disney, the ability to create magic out of the simplest moments.
Coming up.....The Grand Finale??
