It all sounds so lovely.

Thanks for keeping those posts coming. Don't worry about the pace! ;)

Okay, this has been fabulous. I am definitely going to try and reserve the chef's table for our honeymoon next year! Do you have any dessert pics?

Oh my yes!! Dessert is coming later today :cloud9:

Where's the dessert!!! Did I miss the dessert review? I have reserved the Chef's Table as a surprise for my DH to celebrate our 10th Anniversary on the 15th, and I'm waiting with baited breath for the finish!! It's killing me to keep this a secret!! The review has been really great and I may print it and show it to him before we go.

Laughing... I'm doing EXACTLY the same thing! I've been checking every morning when I come to work for the dessert... :p Shows how much work I get done around here.... I am so excited to reserve this for my fella on our honeymoon!! He's gonna flip! I buckled, though, and showed him the pictures. He hasn't stopped drooling since. Bring on the dessert!!! :Pinkbounc

Please post the rest of the meal! I showed my DH this thread and I have him 'almost' convinced to go back next trip!

WOW!!! I am so sorry, :guilty: I didn't realize I had so many fans of this review, I'm very honored. :worship:I apologize that I haven't finished. Things here have been extra busy. I finally have some extra time so I will begin right away on this. BTW Boosmom congrats on getting the chef's table, you are going to have a wonderful experience!! :goodvibes

see ya real soon with the dessert course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now for the desserts :goodvibes

the "pre-dessert" course was a plate of various cheeses.

2 Year Aged Gouda, Beaufort, Epoisses, and English Stiliton Cheesecake & dried fig. This was the only dissappointment of the evening. As a cheese fan I was excited going into this course, but these cheeses were not quite to my liking. Katharine strongly agreed with me! Enough on that, on to the good stuff:

After a pleasant, lengthy discussion with Aimee, she told us she was going to surprise us with the dessert course. Oh my, did she ever!

Dessert course one:
These were the deserts on the menu for the evening
Katharine had Caramel Cheesecake, Warm Almond Chocolate Timbale, & Tiramisu

I had Minature Chocolate Pyramid, Warm Almond Chocolate Timbale, & Orange Chocolate Napolean

for what reason, i do not know, but I did not get a full plate shot of mine :confused3

Katharine's caramel cheescake was very rich, creamy texture. drizzled with golden carmel, that was just the perfect consistency to add to the flavor. It melted in your mouth and finished very smooth.
The Warm Almond Chocolate Timbale, was not as memorable, but it was to be more than made up for shortly. This was more like a dry cake, with very little flavor IMHO.
Now the Tiramisu was DW's favorite. She has had many, and when I saw the eyes roll into the back of her head with the 1st bite, I knew I better quickly steal a taste. WOW, very nicely prepared with all the flavors lightly complimenting each other. The firmness of the mascrapone cheese added a delicious contrast that was creamy and smooth.

As for me, well the Minature Chocolate Pyramid was something I had tasted on our last visited, DW had it for desert and I of course stole a bite, or two  So to have one to myself this time was quite enjoyable. This is the lightest chocolate I have ever tasted. With a strong "coco" like flavor it melts like ice cream on your tongue. It is presented with sliced strawberries and slivers of gold flakes on top. I'm sure the strawberries were intended to compliment the tast, but why disturb fine chocolate with fruit :goodvibes

If this dessert course would have been the finale, it would have been a delightful finish, but nothing at Disney can just be finished, it has to be more than you ever dreamed. I think that is what we like so much about Disney, the ability to create magic out of the simplest moments.

Coming up.....The Grand Finale??

Nothing goes better with a lovely dessert better than "Celebes" coffee.

cream or sugar anyone?

This was a pleasure that should not be skipped!!

Katharine-Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee
Michael- Hawaiian Kona Chocolate Souffle
For us to share-Orange-Scented Mascarpone in a Chocolate Nest (no picture :guilty: )

The Vanilla Creme Brulee was sweet and smooth underneath, with the top being very crunchy. The mix of brown sugar and vanilla was superb giving this a delicate flavor. The berries that garnished the dish were bittersweet, as you would expect from fresh berries. The yellow goose berry was mildly tart, but was a tremendous addition to this ensemble. As a fan of creme brulee this was a very memorable and satisfying dessert.

We shared an Orange-Scented Mascarpone in a Chocolate Nest, this was another bonus dessert for us :cheer2: This is one of the Happiest Celebration on Earth desserts, with a cocoa silk screen of Cindy's castle imprinted on the plate. This was in tribute to the ride Soarin' It had a large sugar candy depicting the sky and the sun. The Orange-Scented Mascarpone was in reference to the california orange groves. it was very creamy and light paired with a semi-sweet chocolate that carried a slight bite. A very artistic dessert that i am ashamed to not have a picture of :guilty:

As for my Hawaiian Kona Chocolate Souffle...... :cloud9: A definitive moment for me in my food adventures. Heavenly, wonderful, amazing, there are not enough adjectives to describe how divine this dessert was. A very light and fluffy souffle was presented to me in a very nice serving piece. Rado, pierced the top of the souffle, popping it if you will, to create a crater in the top. He proceeded to pour melted godiva chocolate into this opening and all around the soufflee. As full as I was from all the food I did not want this course to end. There was definately some Disney magic in that chocolate.

We were presented our customized menus with our names printed on the outside. On the inside Congratulations headed the menu. Katharine was presented a long stem red rose, a very classy touch. The staff then posed for a few pictures with us, which we will post shortly. This was a marvelous end to an enchanting evening.

Here are some photos we took of our experience hope you enjoy:

Overall this was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience we intend on repeating. If you ever remotely considered the chef's table, we recommend you do this. You will not regret your decision, and will have the time of your life. We want to thank Aimee for her wonderful personality and culinary skills, as well as those of her entire team. The way they worked was magnificent and smooth. Every movement was like a choreographed dance. They were incredible to watch and interact with. We truly believe they would make Walt proud!!

We hope you enjoyed our review. It was fun to relive the wonderful memories of that evening. We enjoyed sharing them with you and look forward to experiencing your memories in the future. Thanks to Mr. Disney for his inspiration with his review, we hope we lived up to the expectations :rotfl2: Thank you again for all your kind words and compliments, and we will be sure to share more experiences soon.

I bow to you for trying caviar and foie gras! I don't know if I'll ever be able to bring myself to try those two.

However, that business aside, I truly enjoyed your review! Thank you!

DH and I dined at V&A on 8/2/05 (my birthday) and we LOVED it! I'm secretly surprising my DH with another visit there on his birthday next year - 10/7/06. Your review has me wishing that it was already October 2006!

All I can say is... thank you. You've cemented our visit to the Chef's Table in May. I really appreciate the time you took to write this review, and I am very glad such a lovely couple was able to visit WDW and have a wonderful time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for our honeymoon next year to be just as magical! Congratulations on your wedding, your honeymoon, and your memories!

Thanks for finishing the review!!! (And I love the pictures!!) I'm getting really excited, but I think I'm going to have to cave and show my DH the pics!! I really wanted to surprise him, but I think it may be more fun to have him as excited as I am! What do you'll think? I also don't want him to have a heart attack when the bill comes!! (Although we live a few blocks from Chez Panisse in Berkeley and he hasn't balked at that bill!)
Cplofdisneynutz may I be so rude as to ask the total cost? (I was told $125 pp with an additional $60 pp for the wine. How much did you tip?) I'm projecting in the neighbourhood of $450 - $475? Another $ question. I've heard that there is an extra charge for the cavier, foie gras and Kobe beef in the main dining room. Is this the case at the Chef's Table?
I'm so glad you and your DW did the Chef's Table!! Your pics and reviews were exactly what I needed to get me really excited for our upcoming trip!!!

When I was there a few months ago we tipped 20% on the pre-tax amount. We were a group of four and only one had the wine pairings. For a couple, both having the wine pairings and figuring a 20% tip including tax would come to $478. The caviar, foie gras, and Kobe beef are included and not extra charge at CT.

BTW, a few years ago Scott Joseph, the restaurant reviewer for the Orlando Sentinel reviewed V&A. His closing statement (paraphrased) was "dinner in the main dining room is a good value, at the Chef's Table is an absolute bargain". I have done main dining room twice and CT three times and I agree with him.

Thanks for such a fantastic review. I love all your pictures, it must have been such an incredible experience.

Loved your review...thinking of doing this for our anniversary in Jan..... :goodvibes

What a fantastic review...of what was obviously a fantastic experience!! You have inspired me to create a long term goal of having our 5th anniversary (in 2009) at the Chef's Table...unless I can figure out a way to do that sooner. LOL! Congrats to you as well!

Thank you for finishing the review! It all looks terrific. I am wondering what you disliked about the cheese plate? I loooove cheese plates. What was wrong with V+A's?

Wonderful reviews. Really enjoyed them. Hope to try the Chef's table someday.
