Hey guys,

If you use dialup internet at any of the Resorts, do they charge you anything to dial out of your room?

E.g. If you're dialing up to your internet provider via a *TOLL FREE* dialup number, is Disney going to tack on some extra charge of their own?

Hope that makes sense. And of course, apologies for asking a question that has probably been asked many times before. :)

Thanks for any responses!

I stayed in the 70's and really liked it. I'm not familiar at all with the 90's. I liked where i was because I was towards the back but yet close enough to everything. We had a 1st floor room and I loved that too. Only the first night did I hear any noise early in the morning. I think those people were checking out though. We had a 2Yo ,so I wanted to be clsoe to the baby pool too. We didn't have far to walk at all.

I believe so. I think there is around an 80 cent call charge. I called using my 1-800 phone card and still had a charge on my room for 1.60 or so for two calls.

is stitch still a wake-up call?

when we were there in september at the CR, all we got was mickey every day

We just got back and NO ONE woke us up when the phone rang! :(

I meant to ask at the front desk but i forgot since it really wasn't an issue as everything else at POP was great!

That's a bummer. Did you ever wait on the line? I noticed that sometimes there is a long delay before the character spiel starts.

Of course, for me, it was all I could do to reach over and push the speaker phone button! LOL! Only after the wakeup call ended and the phone went dead did I start moving. :rolleyes1

Thanks ..ang. That sounds like fun .I think I'll set the alarm for me as I want to be up first and then have Mickey call and wake up the kids!!

There is another thread about the wake up call and I think most of us have found out that Stitch with Mickey is the only wake up call Disney is using right now. I'll try to post the thread when I find it, but I will say Stitch was a little annoying. I like the call better than the alarm though (I get enough of that at home!). I wish they could use an option system like press 1 for Mickey Mouse...press 2 for Captain Jack (that button would be wore out by the time our trip was done :lmao: ).

This question is for those people that have just returned from POP. Did you happen to notice if everyone was now using the new mugs, or are there still the old style mugs in use? Are there still any of the old-style mugs for sale, or is it just the new style?

In March they were selling both the Pop mugs (appeared to be the same as last year) and the new blue YoaMD mugs.

HTH! Have a great trip!

hi Susan,

From your signature, I can see that you've stayed at several of the diff sections at POP. We've only stayed in the 50s and loved it. We're checking in kind of late on our arrival date. Will I be disappointed if I get the 70's or 80's instead? (We like the 50s cause close to pool and laundry and close to Classic Hall).

TIA,

:)

We always use dial up no matter which resort we are at. Find the local number for your provider, Orlando NOT Kissimee! We used a Kissimee number last time and ooooppss we got a long distance charge! Luckly we had only been online a few minutes and later checked our room charge. This trip we are leaving the laptops at home and taking a real vacation!

Anna,

If you can pick, I'd take the seventies over the eighties. The walk will be much shorter. The eighties and nineties are the only sections we don't want to stay in because of the walk. But really, it's not that big of a walk all things considered. However, at night when you are tired ... it feels like a lonnnnnnng way back to your room. Also, if you like to go to the food court a lot (mug refills) it makes a big difference over the course of your stay.

Fifties and seventies are our favorites.

HTH! Have fun!

(I'm hoping for the Playdo bldg which is the 60's right. Still a little concerned about the noise from Teens and Grad nights! Anyonee have any info on this? Lreaving in 5 days!!!

We just returned tonight and were on the back side of the "Play doh" building on the 4th floor. Had a wonderful view of the Epcot ball & Illuminations. We also could see part of TOT plus some other fireworks that were later than Illuminations. I think it must have been Wishes although I didn't realize you could see any of MK from POP. We didn't have any problem with noise.

Thats where we were, except on the ground floor. I loved being so close to everything, but facing the like. Not bad for a "value" resort!

No room is all that far from Classic Hall. Some rooms in the 80s are closer to Classic Hall than some rooms in the 50s. Each pool has a laundry building adjacent to it, which makes the 80s/90s more feature-full than the 70s.
