Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if it is possible to have your breakfast put into "to go" containers to take back to your room to eat. I thought this might be a big time-saver for my family in the mornings. I am an early riser, so I thought I could go and get breakfast from the food court while my DH and DS are getting ready in the room. I thought about just bringing stuff from home [cereal/milk, muffins, etc.], but my DH prefers something more substancial. I was just wondering how I would carry everything back along with three resort mugs.:confused3 Anyone do this?

Susan

Everything is on a to-go type plate, but whether they have lids for them all, I do not know. Our breakfasts always had them. We always just took the tray to our room.

Petals pool bar is a good place to relax after a day at the parks. The bartenders are very friendly and there is always sports on thr TV's. Looking forward to our next trip in nine weeks to Pop!!!!:drinking1 :drinking1

They will also pack your to go containers in a bag(like the ones in the gift shop) which can be easier to carry if you are pushing a stroller and dragging your rolling luggage behind you and can't balance a tray also. Not that I have tried that myself...:rolleyes1

I thought I had read somewhere that Disney dining plan doesn't distinguish kids meals and adult meals for Counter Service locations? Anyone else read this? So in that case, you could order the mom's meal and give it to the kids? Anyone? :confused3

Kids HAVE to order from the kids menu if one is available.

I do think that grapes was choice for most kids meals, and we got those most times. DD would rather eat those than french fires any day. Also the buffets had veggies on them. With the buffets, kids can eat from any part of it. We did alot of buffets. At Whispering Canyon, one of the side choices for kids was watermelon. And they served corn on the cob too, which DD loves. She mostly only ate that there. LOL! And at Hoop Dee Doo they had an excellent salad, and with all that food htye give you, DD only ate the salad. (almost a whole bucket herself)

We love the dining plan, and will never go without it. We love trying all the different places each time we go. And we are full all the time. My DH hasn't understood the concept that just becuase it's all you can eat, doesn't mean you have to eat till you need to be rolled out. :lmao:

:cool1: Oh, yeah, I agree! Well, except for that sports on TV part. ;) You sound just like my DH! Just give me my chaise under the palms, a paperback novel and the sounds of the kiddies splashing in the Hippy Dippy...:cloud9:

BTW, I usually walk up and get us a light breakfast every morning and then bring it back to the room. We usually just use our snack credits for cinnamon rolls or chocolate croissants :lovestruc and then fill our mugs. The CMs have been really nice about helping me pack a bag to go - and they will transfer anything on a paper plate to a plastic to-go package if you ask. I bring a flat bottom cotton bag from home so 4 mugs fit on the bottom and don't tip enough to spill if they're closed tightly and I use the handle to carry/balance it. Easier for me than a tray or paper bag.

We leave on Sunday (and I am already so antsy at work) and I wanted to do something special for DH as he just got promoted. Has anyone ordered a cake through room service or one of the Disney bakeries to be delivered to the room?

I was just curious how it turned out and if it was an easy process. I think this might be more convenient than having it sent to one of our ADR's, that way we dont' have to carry it back to the room!

TIA!

I have not yet had experience with this but was told by Chef Dan P. at Pop I can call the cake hotline and order my custom cake..it will be made at The Boardwalk Bakery, then delivered to the Pop. He also told me it CAN be delivered to your room (after you have checked in only) without an additional charge...now that part, I am kind of skeptical about. I have confirmed with the Boardwalk Bakery that they do indeed do the custom cakes for Pop and will deliver them to Pop....however, I have a feeling I am going to have to pick it up at the foodcourt bakery at Pop :confused3 I would just be prepared if something happens you do have to pick it up (at Pop).

Not sure if this is the place to post this, but upon check in last week(7/5-7/12) at Pop,
The CM told DH and I that they are in the process of working on the other half of the resort. She said that the imagineers were over there working on the larger than life cons for the resort!!!
I am ready to see something besides the classic years! :cool1:
Anyone heard about this?

Someone else had posted some news about that some time ago. I had added it to Post #1, so don't think I'm THAT great at my memory! Great to hear more validation! Here's the quote:

POST #1 said:
....in April 2008, DISer baileybelle had spoken to two manager Cast Members who told her that within the next 2-3 years, the Legendary Years side was going to be finally finished. They indicated that due to the successful demand at ASM, this section of the resort would be made into family suites like ASM has today instead of the original plan to make these rooms like the Classic Years.

I had heard about it being suites before!! I think that would be great except that most families aren't from the 40's and earlier1 Would they have their own Food court and buses if not it would be quite a hike !!

I had heard prior that it would also be family suites but i was under the impression froma thread read awhile ago that it would be more or less set up like POR and POFQ so I would assume it would have it's own food court and buses because it is suppose to have it's own Guest services / Check in buiding! This will be so nice if this is the case! I can't wait til I go the end of August I'm going to try to check this out! :cool1: :thumbsup2

We've driven in the past but are flying in September. When should I order my water from COSTCO (is a week before check-in sufficent?) I will also be sending a small box...when and how should it be mailed (USPS, UPS, FedX????) My friend made the reservations but my name should be listed on the room also...does it matter whose name its sent under???
Thanks for your advice!
:thanks:

Not that I'm an expert or anything but seeing that "Legendary Hall" is already built and is a mirror image of Classic Hall, I would assume that it would have the same services as Classic Hall.

I grabbed the image below from Google Maps.

I took this in May 2007.

Okay this is probably a dumb question, but for those of you that have had a fridge either through the hotel or a swap.

-Where did you put the fridge in the room? Is it okay to have it sitting on the carpet? And where exactly did you place it? Near the bathroom?

I'm really hoping that it doesn't have to be on the table.

WooHoo I am down to 23 days and I can't stand it!!

The Pop staff put ours between the table and the window. No problem on the carpet.
It was the cube/bigger style, and it fit just fine, AND there is an outlet there.

We even had room for a pack and play right there.

I,mhoping to go Solo in March ! I will be checking out the progress on the Legendary Years!!Will be interesting to see if they are all suites and how much they are! We usually get 2 rooms at Pop so maybe a suite would be cheaper !!

Unfortunately, suites are not cheaper. At least at All Stars they aren't. I think the one time I didthe math the ycame out to be at least 20 dollars more than two rooms.

Legendary years will have all it's own stuff, and bus stop, but it has been said the they will share buses like All Stars do.. Though i don't see how they could, since the majority of the time the pop buses are filled to the max. So maybe during the day when the buses are less full they will share.

I am not too impressed with it being all suites either. Becuase of the fact they cost more, I think I would rather get two rooms instead.

:thanks:

I ordered water from netgrocer about a week and half before checking in. It was there in 3 days. The Pop staff can hold your packages for up to two weeks but I didn't want to push it.

I sent a huge box down and used UPS. I liked that I could track it online. Both shipments should have whoever's name that is on the reservation. So if the reservation is in her name even though your listed on it, I'd use her name to be on the safe side. That way they know who to hold it for. Also note your check in date on both shipments.
