So let me get this straight I have to call the wdw and tell them I will be staying at the Pop and will need transportation from the airport ? What is the number I call and how soon do I have to call them?

Hi, I am new to this and leaving for Pop Century for our 1st disney trip, I would like to purchase some goods from Disney website to be sent to there for when we arrive, it will be a fortnight on friday we get there, disney said they would send there but would century accept delivery for me and keep until I get there, I dont have a disney reservation number only a dreams unlimited one will this number be ok, thanks in advance for any help Karen

If you mean groceries, you don't get them on the Disney site. You have to find a grocer who will send them there for you. I've never done it, but sure others could tell you who and how to do it. The first page may give you the info as well.

I'm not sure who you talked to, but you need to go with whoever you made your reservation with. Tell them you want to use teh Magical Express and give them your flight numbers. They will then get the info to Disney and then Disney will send them the documents you need to use ME. If you booked through Disney just call back and have them add it to your reservation and again give them your flight numbers.
Also if you need any info on ME go to the transportatin board. Questions are always being asked there, and you can start a new one if needed.

Anyone here ever stayed at Pop Century and headed to Cape May Cafe for breakfast? I am hoping there would be a way for me to take the "breakfast bus" and not have to get a taxi. I read on threads that buses to Hollywood Studios starts at 7AM, but then I'd either have to boat or walk to Beach Club. Is it really best to just take a taxi? How much would this cost?
I took a taxi from CR to Pop and it was just under $20. I would think it would be cheaper to BC. I think bus to the Studios would be the only Disney transportation that would work for you. It is about a 1/2 mile or so walk from there to BC.

Thanks so much, but we leave this Sunday!! Woo Hoo! I appreciate the tip about the pb&j going through the airport scanning, didn't even think of that. Guess I'll keep it at home and pay $4.95 for a pbj on property (hee hee) :(
I've used www.gardengrocer.com in the past and am using them again in May. They have a $40 minimum. I got water, sunscreen (I like the spray stuff and now I don't have to worry about it in my suitcase), fruit, and snacks. I'll save lots of $$$ on water alone!

I'm a bit confused too. Are you ordering from Disneyshopping.com and shipping to the resort? The resort will hold a package for you for 2 weeks. I do not put my reservation number on the mailing label when I mail stuff to the resort. I just put "Hold for guest (the name on your reservation), arrives 5/4/08".

See you there! I'll be there 5/4 to 5/10

Yes! There is a great sticky about ME on the transportation board.

We took a cab when we moved from Pop to the Yacht Club (right next to the Beach Club) and it was just around $10.00.

Wow - you must have been reading my mind ... I came over here to see if I could get a feel for what a taxi would cost for something like this from Pop.

$10 is pretty reasonable and I would think a good option for a place like this (where you have to do a bus, then a boat, or multiple buses, etc).

Good to know (the rest of my family is staying at BCV). Thanks!

I just cannot remember if that cab fare included tip or not - I did tip well because we had all our luggage too.

Hahaha!!! Wow I just learned how to do the multi quote thing =) :thumbsup2

Thanks for everyone's responses. Sounds like it might be a good idea to take the taxi. Maybe we can get there earlier and take a nice leisurely stroll before breakfast time.

GAAAAHHHH! Can't wait. 12 days.

This is a great thread. Unfortunately, I don't have time to read it all....I am leaving in 1 Week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I'd like to make a request for my rooms, but since I've never been before, I'm really confused. I booked through Disney with a triple AAA discount. They said I have a AAA preferred room with connecting rooms since we have a large family.

So, with those givens, what else should I request? I have 4 little ones 8 and under (one is a newborn).

i am thinking that I'd really like a 1st floor room so we don't have to deal with strollers on elevators. I'd also like it reletively quiet since I'll have a sleeping baby. But, I also want is reletively close to the bus stop and food court so we don't have to walk far after a long day at the parks. Is there a location that has preferred AAA connecting rooms that has these other ideals? Am I being too picky?

What should I request? How do I make the request? Call back and put it with my reservations and then fax it in? What do I say? Are there any samples?

thanks!

We just returned from POP last wednesday and our room was awesome. We were in the 60's building on the back side room 4875. Facing the lake behind the petals pool and right by the food court and bus stop. Not sure if this was pefered as we only paid for standard.
We loved POP and had a blast. When we arrived at the hotel on Magical Express at 10am our room was already ready. I was shocked. Our Mousekeeper was awesome and left us a suprise the last day 3 towel bunnies one for each princess she said! So wonderful! We are heaed back August 28and will be staying at POP again!

This thread has been SOOOO helpful! Less than a month until our first stay at the POP! :goodvibes

Read the info in the thread and look at the preferred room map and adjoining rooms/disability rooms map. Very helpful!

Will Pop transfer luggage to another resort if you're switching mid-stay? I know I've had some of the other resorts do this but this will be my first Pop stay.

Yes they will. We switched to the Poly last summer and our luggage was there when we checked in around 4.

We are staying at pop in Nov for 1st trip ever! I have tried and read as much of this thread but just can't I wonder how many pages it would take to print all this posts.
How long does it take from pop to the parks and if doing an 1st breakfast sitting is it easier to get a taxi to the parks.

Check out Post #1, and there's a whole section on "special requests" that will answer some of your questions and make you think about other needs as well.

You're correct about including your request at time of reservation (or call back if you didn't do so the first time), then send the fax in around 5 days prior to arrival. In the fax letter, just include the basics and make it simple..."I would like to request the following:" followed by bullet points.

Post #1 has the COMMUTE time to get to the parks. The unknowns are how long you might wait in line for the bus, which has the factors of how many people are standing in line and can get on one bus, and when the next bus arrives. I would say if you factor in 40 minutes, that will cover you for commute and wait time...but again, keep in mind things like peak season when there are more people waiting in line to get to the parks really close to opening time. There's also comment in Post #1 around when the buses start in the morning and I believe a recommended time before breakfast ADRs to get to the bus stop.

I hope this helps, and have a great time!
