And by the way, if you're planning on putting up a curtain on a rod to make for additional privacy at the sink area in your room, you need a rod that extends to at least 38 inches. That's the width of the doorway. :)

we just got back from POP.. DD loved playing in the arcade.. One night, I believe it was Thursday we went in to play and the machines that give out tickets were down so the CM said that all non ticket games such as the arcade games were FREE play.. We got to play for about 30 minutes and didnt have to pay anything! DD thought that was the greatest!!!

Just got back from POP and had a great time!!

It was quite busy.. I dont know but I feel like we will move onto another resort next time as this was our 4th time at POP.. The main problem I saw was the buses, but that seems to be so every time we go..

One night coming back from MK to POP the line for the bus was horendous!! It ended at the first bus stop and as you know POP is the last bus stop.. the line was huge.. Ive never seen it like that before.. I will applaude Disney though, they brought in 3 buses at a time to get everyone out of there.. every 5-7 minutes 3 more buses would come and they would pack everyone in.. it took us about 35 minutes to get to the bus.. While that is definitely not the longest we have waited for a bus I was impressed how fast they got that line down..

Did anyone book Pop for free DDP last year? I was just wondering how hard it was to get in when they first announced it? It seems like Pop is one of the most desired values. Last year we stayed at CBR for free food but our budget is a lot lower this year so we're hoping for Pop. Any observations would be appreciated.

We stayed at POP last year during the free DDP from Sept. 15 - 22. Our first choice was ASMo. It was all booked. We ended up staying in a preferred room in the back of the 70's building overlooking Hourglass Lake. We absolutely loved it.

Hi,

I am new here, but have been wanting to go back to disney for 3 years. We finally book pop in August and I am so excited. Thanks for all the great planning trips!

Thank you!!!! That certainly beats the "estimated 4'-5' width" that we previously had on Post 1.

I've gone in and updated our comprehensive Post #1 with your specific measurement! Thanks for thinking of measuring and reporting it back!

Hi, We were there last 8-9/2007 for FD & @ POP. We already had an existing res. w/ hopes of going to free dining & then converted to a package w/ reservation when the code came out. Code was released in April for Disney Visa card holders & was released shortly there after for general population.

You could always make the reservation & if no codes come out you can either keep or cancel it.

We rebooked for the bounceback offer for free dining and are going again in Sept.

The BBack was offered to guests who rebooked for 8/30 - 9/27/2008 while on their 8-9/2007 vacation prior to cking out.

Hopefully this is a good sign that they will offer FD to the general public again for those dates too!

You're very welcome!

Thank you so much...I did not know that you could charge purchases made in the WDW parks back to your room, this is good to know. Can you also charge meals from the resort to your room, or do they also accept credit card in the food court? How does this work? I guess I will bring some cash just in case though. It has been 11 years since I have been to WDW and this will be my DD's first time ever! We are so "exciterated" as Tigger says!!

You can charge everything to your room. You'll just pay for everything upon check-out.

You can also use a credit card or debit check card.

Anyone know how the fishing is at Hourglass lake?? They said it is stocked with Bass and Catfish.

Also
Fishing permitted around Hourglass Lake but not on Generation Gap Bridge
fishing equipment is not available for rent on property; pack your own
??

i was just told that they do have fishing equipment available for rent at the hotel. anyone verify this??

Okay, here is my dilemma -- we are booked at POFQ for June, but I keep leaning towards Pop. We loved staying there in October, especially the kids -- they loved the vibrancy and fun atmosphere. I am worried though that it will be way overcrowded and claustrophobic. Has anyone been the second week of June? How are the crowds? Is the food court packed solid? We would have our own car, so the bus situation wouldn't be an issue. I am just scared of long lines in the food court, packed pools, and tour groups. Any opinions are greatly appreciated!

I think any place in June will be like that.

Haven't seen any equipment on our two trips. I haven't seen anyone fishing either.

I am looking forward to my August trip to POP this year. I have booked a preferred room. My last stay, my preferred room was in the 60's, I was wondering if anyone knows if there are preferred rooms in the 50's or 70's also. Thanks!

Yes there are. Check out Post #1 in the "CLASSIC YEARS’ ROOMS (1950’s – 1990’s)" section for the link to a map and a list of room numbers of preferred rooms.

That is so perfect, thanks! (I've learned I should probably read the first page of these threads :goodvibes )

You're most welcome! Hopefully you'll find lots of other new tidbits of information there, too!
