I felt bad for some people on the ground floor because of all the foot traffic at all times of day. Maybe they weren't there, maybe they didn't hear it, but if you're going to be in the room a lot, I'd request an upper floor.

I hear this a lot and previously took it for the truth because it makes sense. But as since I've had two stays on the ground floor it just isn't always true. I really think most of the people walking past the ground floor rooms use the main paths(not the one that goes right by the room)and there are so many different ways to get around that it was actually quieter. On the upper floors, when kids run, or the carts go by, it actually kind of echoes. On the ground floor it doesn't. It's also a plus not to have to wait for the elevator or take the stairs. I like the ground floor rooms.
Darn! I just let out my best kept secret. :ssst:

thanks for all the fishing info! It's just going to be a quick 3 day trip, so i doubt dh will be bringing his pole. I think i'll just double check with the resort before hand, and tell him again to just fish at DTD.

SHHHH! You're not supposed to give that secret away! :rolleyes1 LOL! I prefer ground floor, but have only stayed on ground floor too. But it was quiet while we were there as well.
:yay:

Have you ever stayed 1st floor poolside? Now that's noisy. :lmao: We just leave the info channel on with the music as low as we can and still block the outside noise. I have stayed on the first floor 3 times and the quietest was on the backside of the building. It was so peaceful there. The one time we were next to the bigwheel and I swear every kid at Pop played in the center of the buidling by the big foozball guys and they all seemed to like screaming. Then there were the parents who's kids were crying and screaming at 3am so they put them outside of the room to wake everyone in the building up. :scared1: That time it didn't matter what floor you were on they were screaming so loud I thought someone got hurt. There are also the gardeners with there loud sidewalk trimmers who start work at 7 or 8am. That is definatly louder on the first floor. Honestly, there are probably 250 rooms in each building so it isn't going to be quiet anywhere. Turning on the TV or radio to music really helps us though.

have a question that maybe someone can help me out with...

we're going to be visiting POP in april. my ds is actually turning 10 the day we check in. poor thing, he'll be spending his entire bday in the car (ok, NOT poor thing...he's going to disney!:goodvibes )
anyway, i wondered if there was anyway we could have something already in our room when we arrive that evening. i've read about other resorts having card, balloons, cake delivered, etc. but couldn't find anything specific to POP. (i even searched thru the bday thread!)

tia...lovin' this thread!

Well, this part's okay, cuz we're going to be getting ready for rope drop at this time!!! Checkin' in tomorrow!!!! :yay: :woohoo:

This is where we had to walk by! Maybe that's why it seems like it would be noisy to me. We also walked on the lakeside of a few buildings and we were the only ones there.

Noise that we heard on the 3rd floor every morning? Sidewalk cleaning! :rotfl2: The first time we saw it, we joked about how clean Disney was. When we realized it was a daily thing we just couldn't believe it!

Ok I'm getting so excited about staying here. I was a little concerned about it at first after only staying at mods but after reading this thread I am excited.:goodvibes

I just have one question. I would like to ask for 1st floor connecting rooms, one with king and the other reg 2 beds. I know they are not guaranteed. The reason for connecting is my DH and I will stay in the king, (he is disabled) and the other will have my DD, and DS and mom(she too needs some assistance from time to time). We will be traveling with a scooter maybe 2,so need the extra space to park them. Plus would like pool side.
Now the question is we booked with AAA. I have asked them to request it but should I follow up with a phone call or fax before we arrive? I am really worried about it. :scared:
I have never used AAA before and my TA is not Disney savvy. :scared1: I know more than she does about the resorts.:sad2:

All you POP experts out there if you can give me some guidance I would appreciate it.

Thanks:flower3:

I would call right now to verify that "connecting rooms" is tagged onto your reservation. I've done this before. You could also ask about the poolside, but I think that's something they won't guarantee.

I'm not sure if it will be in the room when you get there. We ordered a basket as a surprise for ds on our last trip. It was waiting at registration when we arrived.

I hope I'm not jinxing myself.....BUT......DH came in the house last night after work and said price a trip to Disney for March or early April. Not for sure we are going, but I am so excited he is now thinking of it! He actaully wants to go mid March, but I told him Easter was in March this year (he didn't beleive till I proved it) and I said it will be really busy then. He said then March 3 or around there. I agian siad it will most likely be busy, but pirced it and the price wasn't too bad, plus I found a decent priced flight. But then he says well hey thats only 2 or 3 weeks away. So I priced the beginning of April, but the flight is really high. So I priced the next week and the flight was 100 cheaper per person. But he is a farmer and he thinks that is too late to go. UGH!
I will be happy going anytime, but I was trying to find the best deals too!
Anyways, we will most likely be staying at POP again! We really loved it.

OHH! And he told DD we were probably going to Disney. So thats a good sign. You can't tell a 3 YO and then back out! LOL!

Call Disney's reservations line for guests who have special needs. They may not talk to you because you booked with an agent. I am not 100% sure, but I think this department can block rooms for you ahead of time.

This thread has a lot of info, and the phone number you need is in post #7

Good luck planning! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Just back from Pop . They really try to honor your requests but they are just that . I would call ahead like about 5 days and ask about your requests. With scoters you will be seated on buses first always and they have wheelchair and stroller gates at the parks. Poolside at Pop can be noisy just a little warning . I always ask for not poolside although DD wants poolside next year !! Most TAs are not as Disney savvy as us Dissers and mine really appreciates all my input!! Some things I noticed this time no more Twinkie Tiramusu I was crushed , also the snax are much more limited , no more box of donuts, I used my snax as follows a Raspberry Suss in France and a cappucino, 4 Big suckers from DTD and 3 pretzel rods at Goofys . If I wanted a coffee in the parks I paid OOP. For those who asked about the arcade for $25 you get the best deal lots of bonus points when I find my notes I'll post exactly and games are between 15 and 75 points each ! I absolutely love Pop It is GREAT!!!Any ??? please ask!!

We'll be making our yearly trip in March & it'll be our first time staying over Easter. Any chance that Everything Pop will have Easter Baskets for sale? I've promised my 5 year old that the Easter Bunny will still come see him at Disney World.

I didn't read ahead to see if there was another reply(I am driving DH crazy over my time spent lately on the dis:) ), so forgive me if this is a repeat.

There was a nice selection of Easter baskets and goodies to fill it, available at the Pop store when we were there for Easter week 2 years ago. We also got to meet Mr.and Mrs. Bunny for pictures in MK, right next to Town Hall (I think it is what it is called.) I didn't have to pay the $20 for a picture with the bunny at the mall. It was a great time of year to be at Disney, as if there is a bad time:)

You could always ship one down an Easter basket, a few days early just to be safe. They will hold it at the desk for you!

hth!

They already had some Easter stuff in the parks, atPop and they also had Easter pins so I'm sure more will be coming. You can definately ship a package down ahead though I do every year with snax and sunscreen etc.

hi all. we'll be staying at pop for the second time from feb 24-mar 2... yay!
i have read there are some activities going on around pop sometimes (parade or bike races etc.). i dont remember any of that stuff from our trip 2 years ago but I guess I wasn't looking for it as DD was only 19 months. now she will be 3.5 and i am wondering if any of those activities are suitable for that age so we will be sure to try and check them out. thanks!!!!

I would ask when you check in . I didn't see any but I wasn't there a lot . I have heard about CM dancing at certain times but have not seen that either !!
