I buy a prepaid credit card and take cash. The card costs $3.50 and works great, what I don't use I can use at home . I have envelopes made up for Mousekeepingwith MH glued on them, but istill need cash for tips and odds and ends which I will take out each day and leave locked up .

I was nervous about running up a huge bill to see at the end of the trip. I guessed at how much we would need each day, I got the cash, put each day's amounts in an envelope. We kept it in the safe in our room. My husband just got out each day's envelope and took the money. We never used all of the money, and we carried each day's extra money over for souvenirs. It worked great for us. We charged a few things to our room, but it was nice not having a huge bill to surprise us. It works the same way, but it just helped me mentally!

I think your envelope idea is a really good one. Great tip!

They were H2O products when we were there last August.

Gretchen

When we were there in Sept we stayed at Pop for a few days prior to moving to the Poly. The products were in the same size/shape containers but the Pop ones didn't say H2O while the Poly ones did. The soap was shaped different as well. I didn't try the Pop stuff because I assumed that they were the same old cheap value stuff...never occurred to me that they might be H2O!

I just wanted to say thanks for all the great tips, especially in the first post. I just found these boards and they are helping tremendously with my trip planning.

You can go up to wear you check-in at the POP and pay off your room charge at any point in your stay. We paid ours off every other day. :)

I have read that you can buy a half gallon of milk in the food court but I am wondering is milk an option for the refillable mugs? If so, what type of milk is it(whole, 2%,etc)? We will be there in a week   and I hate to have to buy a whole half gallon for ds.

Milk's not an option for the mugs. But they do have smaller milks; you don't ahve to buy a 1/2 gallon.

:)

They have small cartons of milk (8 oz) and small bottles (maybe 12 oz?). They also have small and larger chocolate milk.

Can anyone list the POP arcade card prices? I want to give my kids money for cards, seperate from their souvenier money and would like to have an idea of play time/$. Thanks so much!

DH bought a card for them last year, but has NO idea what he paid. :rolleyes1

I think you can make them for the amount that you want....$10, $20, etc.
Have fun!

My boys love the arcade at PC! Out of all the resorts we have stayed at on site including deluxe, this one wins hands down for them.

I agree you can buy points for $1 on up. I do remember that if you bought I think it was $10 worth you got extra points. I also agree that Pop has a great arcade.

Does anyone know how much it costs to play a game at the arcade? Is it (on average) .50, $1, $2? Just curious, I want to budget based on how many games I think we'll have time for.

Does anyone know how long the cards last? Do they expire? We went in Nov of 2006 and are going back down in Dec. My kids ran out of time to use them totally up! :lmao: Plus, friends that we were with gave them theirs! We love to kill that last hour or so in there before we get picked up by Magical Express and GO HOME!!! Do you think they'd still be good?

This thread is great! We've stayed at Pop 2x's and I've picked up even more good info! Can't wait to be back down there in Dec!

Another tip I learned is when you buy your cs there if you want the icecream sundae as dessrt they give you an hour to pick it up ,so you can eat your entree and then go get the sundae. We found that out half way thru our stay!!

I can't remember how much each game costs, sorry. But I do know that you get tickets when you win, and you can exchange them for prices. My DN was able to get a few little things.

The games start around 15 points per game. You buy the points on the red machines and they're put on your card. 50 points cost $1.00.

I don't know if the cards expire.

I will say that POP's arcade is much better than the one at Wilderness Lodge. At WL, there are less games, no tickets, and no prizes.
