We have checked in later than that and there has always been someone at the desk. We also asked about getting tickets after midnight if we did 2 separate ressies and I was told by a CM that someone is always there. Just check with them when you check in and they'll tell you exactly how to do this!

thanks for the fast reply!

is there someone at the front desk at all times? reason i am asking is because i am flying southwest and have to do 24 hour check in for boarding pass and my flight is around 10:00pm. will they do this for you?

Yes someone is always at the front desk!! They will do the Boarding passes for you also I have had them done at Mk too !!

We have about 28 days until we arrive at POP for those jsut returning how was the line at check in did anyone check in beteween 2 -3 pm?

Also if you used ME can you tell me what your total wait time from check in to baording the bus was?

Well we flew into Orlando around 9:30pm so things weren't busy at all. We did claim our bags ourselves, but did use the ME for transportation. We waited in the terminal only 2-3 minutes, boarded and sat on the bus maybe 10-15 mins. The bus wasn't dedicated just for Pop their were other resort drop-offs. I don't know if was because the time of day or what. But on the return the bus was just for Pop.
Check-in at Pop, walk straight to the counter.

I agree, however DD wants prefered and poolside !!

Thats what we had last trip and I want it everytime now. It was so awesome to open your door and the pool was right there. We were 2 doors down from Baloo. It was jsut perfect for us. The down side was that we walked by the pool everytime we elft or came b ack and DD wanted to swim ALL the time. so sometimes we had to bribe her to do other stuff. The kid is at Disney and wants to swim all day! LOL!:confused3

We were there in Marc h and had not one noise issue at all.

Yeah, well, don't plan on her out-growing that any time soon. DGD13 is on a swim team, goes to the pool nearly every day and STILL I have to drag her from the Hippy Dippy!

Good to know! My usual room request is 4th floor, lake view...Always very quiet. This year, DGD wants to be where the action is - 1st floor, 60's poolside. I'm sort of panicky. Me likes me sleep. ;)

If you cherish your sleep I would not recommend pool side. We were in room 5203, 2nd floor 50's building, just above the kiddie pool. It was noisy. If you're a sound sleeper you should have no problem. If you're a light sleeper like me...not good. There is a quiet time between 10 PM to midnight. But it was rarely honored. Our last night I had to call, as there was a child screaming every 5 seconds. This was at 11:30PM. I called and within 5 minutes it got quiet.

Blessings,
Winnie

Yeah, thanx. I think you may be right...But I'm just goofy enough to go ahead and try it...once.

This is turning out to be my "Never say never" trip. I've always said I would never go during the summer, never do free dining, never pay for a preferred room at POP, never stay for less than 10 days, never park hop, never make ADRs for character meals nearly every day, and - most of all - never request a poolside room! :rotfl:

I guess it was the 60's building then. I assumed it was the 50's since our room started with a 5. I'm not as up on exacts as some. sorry.

But we were right over the kiddie pool by the dippy pool if that helps.

yeah, that's 60's! :) 50's has the bowling pin pool.

You were in a pretty noisy location then!!

And I bet that as long as you keep your positive attitude and focus on your grand-daughter that you will have an awesome trip! :thumbsup2

We swore we'd never go in the summer, but our August trip (including an appearance by Hurricane Katrina) was really a great trip!

Happy planning! :wizard:

Thanks for your quick replies! I had figured that someone on the boards would have the answer.

You're welcome. We're going back for our wedding anniversary at the end of this month. Can't wait!!

Blessings,
Winnie

Does anyone know what are the dimensions of the safe in the rooms at Pop? I'm trying to figure out if the door/opening will be large enough for me to place my laptop inside. Thanks in advance!

My 15.4" Toshiba laptop (14"WX10.5"H) fit fine in the safe at Pop. It has to stand on its side but there was room for other small items in the safe as well. Below is a picture of it in the safe.

Ahhh, thanx for that. Nice to be reminded of what's really important. We'll be happy to be at Disney no matter what & when! :yay: When our blood starts to boil, we'll hit the pool! So we might end up being very happy to have it right outside our door!

Exactly! Our first trip we stayed at Ft. Wilderness in Feb. We didn't use the pool much. Too much to see and do.

The August trip was free dining, and we were at Pop.

It was so hot, that we would leave the parks mid afternoon, and eat dinner at Pop.
Then, as the sun was setting we would hit the pool.

I sat there the first night, balmy air, relaxing pool water, families all around just in love with being together (it was a particularily positive bunch that night), and I thought "OH, so this is what people like about vacations that focus on the pool!"

We were only two rooms away from the bowling pin pool, just behind the jukebox, and we spent A LOT of time in the pool.

Happy planning everyone! :wizard:

Hey there MOM, is granny good to go now? I hope so. Someone has to keep your 'rowdy' group under control. :lmao:
