Ok, POPers, I need a vote. Should I do the online check-in or wait until we get there? I have seen discussion about this, but I'm not sure if it was in reference to the POP. Our plane is scheduled to land at 5:10pm, and so we will be getting to the resort pretty late. We will be using ME. We are hoping to get settled into the room a little and then go to DTD to eat dinner. I don't know how much time the check-in will add to the process, and if I understand it, we would have to wait in line anyway, to get the room keys. Thoughts? popcorn::

I'm gonna jump on the "should I do online check-in or not" question. We will be ariving to POP about 1:00pm on Sept 21st.
What do you do?

Myself I never use the online check in. Pop's check in is really speedy and well organized IMO. The past 2 times we have stayed there it has been less than a 3 minute wait. It really is well organized both time there was a gentleman in the lobby standing at the front of the check in line. I think he was there to make sure things we running efficent.

Just checking my countdown.... I've been traveling for work these last 2 weeks & need some grounding!!!

ETA: WOOT! Under 3 weeks now!

Thanks for all the "Laundry" replies! I think I will try late one night when we get back from the parks. I can't imagin wasting precious morning time doing laundry, rather be at the parks! I will bring my own quaters, so no machine worries there! I'm gonna try those purex all in 1 sheets today to make sure DD nor I have an allergy to them, if not we will bring those!:thumbsup2 I figure 2 loads will get us through 8/9 days:goodvibes

I use the Purex 3 in 1 Pure and Clean version sheets. I have extreme sensitive skin and they do not bother me, however the other "aromaed" ones do. The pure and clean are in the white box. I swear by them!! I hope they work for you, so convenient, especially traveling.

Dumb question: How long does it take to do one laundry load? Wash and dry. Thanks.

Not a dumb question at all - "normal" time to wash - FOREVER to dry thoroughly! I put them through one half hour cycle and then hung them up on the line across the shower to finish drying. To thoroughly dry? At least three cycles.

Drying time probably depends on how full your load is and whether you are drying jeans or lighter fabrics. The dry cycles last about 20-25 minutes and I found I needed 2 ( at $2.00 each). Washing was also about 25 minutes so I think the total time in the machines was around 1 & 1/4 hours.

Can anyone tell me if the new tvs (since refurb) have the slot to hook up a laptop for viewing movies, photos, etc?

We were there last year and had a refurbed room and tv. I think I remember my husband saying that we could've done that, but we didn't bring the plug.

Can someone confirm that my recollection is correct?

Well when I went into my step son and his GF room (no flames he is 20 and lives on his own) they had is playstation hooked up. So I would say yes. We just purchased the girls a sony portable dvd player and I plan on bringing the cables to hook to the tv if we need it.

I have done it both ways and have no complaints about either ! My self I like the Online Check in! Its ready to go when you walk up the keys may have to be made but that takes a min or so no big deal :)

We take ME to Pop (about 35-45 minutes), and then get in line for on line check in. It takes only about 10-15 minutes to complete this process. So, I plan that after we land at MCO, we should be checked in at Pop within 1.5 hours, depending on traffic from MCO and where we stop to shop in the airport. It's easy and saves time.:surfweb:

I check-in on the 28th of August......can anyone tell me the crowd level at the resort or is it always busy? I'm sorry.........I have never been in August and I am somewhat concerned. I also dread the heat!!! Yikes.....I graduated from the University of Central Florida (my first degree) and I never got use to the heat!

I need to clarify myself..........I have never been to Disney or any of the resorts in August.;)

I cannot help you but we are checking in on the 27th. I'm not sure how busy it will be. There is still are rooms for the Fd promo during my dates. Last year we went in September and I didn't find it that busy.

Last year we also went in September but we stayed at POR........it wasn't too busy at the resort! The parks were manageable as well. :)

Great, thanks!

I love how we feel the need to add "flame" disclaimers to our posts :rotfl: I've gotten my share believe me!

I've been in August and September and it will be HOT so be prepared (go to parks early, take a break in the afternoon, go back in the evening; lots of water, sunscreen, etc...) Food court is still gonna be busy during prime dining times. The crowds will probably have gone down while your there since schools start going back at the middle-end of August. No matter what you still AT DISNEY - ENJOY! :goodvibes

I looked at touring plans to check the crowd levels. Since you are a month from your trip, you can use it too since they allow you to use it 30 days prior to your trip without a subscription. It will help you see the best parks to go to each day and what the lines look like while you are there.
Not knowing how long you will be there I looked at Aug 27th thru Sept 4th and it looks like it will be pretty slow,:thumbsup2

on the touring plan scale of 1-10

most of the days are a 4 (meaning your big ticket rides are about 30 min wait)
there are 2 days with a 2 :cool1: (big ticket rides are about 20 min wait)
and 2 days are a 5 (big ticket rides are 45 min wait)

(big ticket rides are Toy Story Mania, Rock n roller coaster, Space Mountain, Peter Pan, Splash Mountain, Expedition Everest, Soarin', Test Track, etc)

We went August 16-22 last year and it was definitely hot but we are from TX where our summers are in the 100's now for 26 straight days so 92 on average was not unbearable. Use lots of sunscreen, drink lots of water, get alot of pool time but most of all HAVE FUN!!!
We will be there December 16-23 this year:banana: We will miss not getting alot of pool time in December but we are soooo excited to be there with all the Christmas decorations.
