10 days out you goto www.disney.go.com log in to their website you have to have an acct it's free make sure disney has the email address you use then you will be able to access your reservation and complete online check in with your ressie infoit will take you step by step through it . it's very easy . if tyou sign up now you can play around with it and check it out so you know exactly what to do if you already have an acct you log in under travel plans I believe where you can pull up your ressie is also where the online check in will be it's actually always their you just cannot do it til 10 days out:)

I need to clarify myself..........I have never been to Disney or any of the resorts in August.;)

Just remember to use fast Pass for the rides you really want to do like Toy story mania etc or go very early like others have said or late to avoid the heat we have been going the past 5 yrs in august we goto the parks for a lil then go back and go swimming eat dinner then go back again :)

Ok, POPers, I need a vote. Should I do the online check-in or wait until we get there? I have seen discussion about this, but I'm not sure if it was in reference to the POP. Our plane is scheduled to land at 5:10pm, and so we will be getting to the resort pretty late. We will be using ME. We are hoping to get settled into the room a little and then go to DTD to eat dinner. I don't know how much time the check-in will add to the process, and if I understand it, we would have to wait in line anyway, to get the room keys. Thoughts? popcorn::

We did online check-in the last time we stayed at Pop in 2009. I see you are arriving after normal check-in time so I'm not sure if online check-in will save you any time really. We use it because we arrive before noon and were told there was a good chance that if we did online check in that our room would be ready for us and it was. I can't remember the exact time we arrived but it was probably around 10 or 10:30 in the morning. Not that we went to the room and stayed there, but it was nice to drop off our carryon luggage and freshen up a bit!

Thanks for this info. I have been going back and forth about whether or not to do online checkin because we will be arriving pretty early around 8am, not to get our room but to either get our parking pass and drive to HS or if the bus is there to take that over.

If we do the online check in, will the packet include our parking pass? We are not worried about room requests other than king bed. Do you have the option during online check in to put a room request if you haven't already? or does that need to be done way in advance?

TIA for the advice!

Well, Pop is official for us, yippee! I actually wanted Pop from the start because it's a quick walk to go check out AoA (which will be open by the time we go) and the kids are still young enough to enjoy all the decorations and stuff. But hubby was insisting on mod or renting points so I had been researching like crazy on which way to go. Then I offered him a compromise: he could do a cruise if we ended the cruise with a few nights at WDW. But I told him if we cruised, we could only afford Pop and he would have to be OK with that. And he said yes because he wants to cruise so badly!

So, September '12, we will be at Pop! Yea!

I can't verify about the parking pass, we did not have a car while on property and as far as requests we didn't have any, but when I was looking into online check-in before our 2009 trip I was told to do the online check-in and then fax or call in my room requests if I had any. I'm not sure if the online check-in process has changed at all or not in the past 2 years but I will being using it again soon! Sorry, I couldn't help more!

If you want to add a specific room request then you need to add that to your reservation in advance. The online check-in request choices I have seen for Pop have been:
1. refrigerator
2. crib (pack 'n play)
3. ground floor (sort of a room request)
4. near transportation (also sort of a room request)

For the parking pass, I'm not sure -- it might be in there and they discard it if you don't have a vehicle. I know I have been asked at the online check-in desk if I am parking a car, but I can't remember if they are ditching a pass or asking if I need one created. But I'm leaning toward it's in the packet and they discard it.

Parking pass will be in folder upon check in no matter what time that is.

I have done online check in several times and regular check in. If you don't care where your room is and won't ask to move do online because online check in CM's tend to tell you there are no other rooms left to move you to. If you are picky do regular check in. I have done 3 check ins this year all have had a shorter/faster line on the regular check in side, go figure. I have had a CM tell me that when doing online the computer picks your room for you as the rooms become available.

Gotcha!! Thanks so much for your help!!

I don't care where we are, but dbf has an opinion about it, apparently. He didn't at the time of booking, but NOW he does after we discussed and he looked at the maps. What a pain in my rump!!

"I don't want people over me (wants 4th floor), I don't want to hear people up late in the pool, I want to see the lake, I want to be by the buses, I want, I want, I want, etc...." I feel like I am bringing my kids with me. :rotfl:

I guess since I am making him get up at the butt crack o'dawn to make rope drop, it is the least I can do, right?? :rolleyes1

we want to stay in our favorite bldg/ 60s 3rd or 4th floor facing the lake. it's very quiet and close to the elevator. our last stay we were put in the 90s on the bottom floor facing the laudry ctr. did not like this location and it took forever to walk from the buses. we would actually drive to the foodcourt cause we like to eat our food in the room.

Just booked Pop for November - yippee!!! FWIW, I did online check-in in 10/09 and had room requests that I had put on the ressie and faxed in ahead of time and I got the requests for the most part. (I got that building we wanted and lakeside, just 3rd floor instead of 4th)

Sorry if I missed the answer to this question when I searched but ...

Do the windows at Pop open? From the pictures they look like standard hotel windows that don't open but I thought I'd double check. I'd hate to get to WDW and realize I should have packed our window security bar.

Thanks!

Not to worry - windows do not open at any Disney resort, except on a deluxe balcony. (Even if the windows did open, you'd not need a security bar.) :thumbsup2

On line check-in rooms are now assigned by computer, so if you have specific requests, might be worth checking in the regular line. :thumbsup2

We love the 60's facing the lake. :thumbsup2 But I would be happy with 50's or 70's also.

We got some Disney magic this trip. We usually get assigned to the 80's or 90's section. This time we got the 70's! Someone in our group was celebrating their 17th birthday and the girl checking us in pronounced her name wrong. I don't know if the castmember felt guilty about this or what :confused3 but off she went to get us a gift worth.... $42!! AWESOME!:banana::banana: So that started our trip off rather WELL! :hippie:

Rosie, if you have any room location requests, it is best NOT to do online check-in. Especially since you will be arriving early, go directly to the regular check-in counter and ask if they can meet your requests. Think Judy wanted to be near the pool, yes?:thumbsup2

Hi everyone. Only 4 days to go now! Should I call and reconfirm my room requests today? How do I know which number to call to get the actual front desk?
