Hi all!!

Just back from nine days at the POP!! 10/1-10/10!!

Great resort!! Fun, clean, beautiful, and bright!! Our rooms were 4152 and 4153 connecting! Right under the playdoh towards the back facing the lake. Great location, about a 3 minute walk to classic hall!! So fun and so Disney!! Both rooms were refurbbed, good size, beds were pretty comfy. I loved the gift shop, lots of stuff to choose from, I felt like everyday there was something new for me to see. Food court was great, we were on the dining plan and never felt like we had a lack of choices. The food was usually always good. My only complaint is that the food court is CRAZY in the morning from around 8-11. I think it took us 20 minutes one day to get our food, wait in line, and sit down! Reading here I knew it would be busy, but I had no idea it would be that busy!! haha It was a minor inconvenience and didn't ruin our trip one bit! The pools were nice, I didn't swim in them once though, my brother and boyfriend used them quite a bit and loved them. A few nights I had planned on swimming but it was very chilly out, I read the pools were supposed to be heated, but it didn't feel like they were to me, but that's because I get really cold!! Everyone else in there seemed to be having the time of their lives! This was all at the Hippy Dippy pool, we checked out the others, but didn't swim there. We did go the 90's pool one night, because it was very quiet. We took a bottle of wine to celebrate my boyfriend proposing to me that day at Magic Kingdom! It was a nice place to relax. The CM's were all nice and helpful. I got lots of pics that I will probably post on the pop century picture thread. I didn't really pay attention to the refurbs going on, but one day we were walking around, it looked like they were working on building 1, floor 1. Anyone have any questions!?

I remember you said you were going down around the same time as us on this thread before we left!! I looked for you and any lime green mickey heads I could spot, couldn't find any though!! Haha .. Were your windows decorated! I wish we had brought stuff to decorate ours! There were some that were just so awesome!! It was really a fun stay!! Did you all enjoy your rooms?! I really do love POP!!

Thank you so much!! It was phenomenal!! He got it all on video and a photopass photographer was right beside us snapping so many pics!! It is def. a proposal I will never forget!!

Do any of you know what they are offering for bounceback right now?

I am not going for another month & change, but I was curious what the offers were. We were able to re-book our SW flights and now have $300 in credits that would need to use by July 2011.

When I was at Pop last month 9/11-9/18, the special offer sheet in the room was not a bounceback but the same special offers that are available to the public. I don't recall there was any conditions to your booking before checkout. I had hoped -- but really didn't expect -- they would have a full free dining at values bounceback for me like in 2009...

Hi- I'm obviously a newbie here. I just booked Pop today Oct 14 for Sunday Oct 24 for 3 nights. When I called I got a preferred room for 3 nights for $303- I asked for a standard room and I was told there weren't any (?)

Anyway I requested the 60's building on a upper floor. Traveling with my DH and 1 kid age 5. I also asked for a refrigerator for DH's insulin- he's diabetic.

We are flying on AirTran from Ohio- this is all so last minute- anything else I should do or know? I am worried about not getting our luggage tags in time- on the phone she said it was probably too late.

We have give a day, get a day vouchers for the adults.

Is preferred necessary at POP? Thinking about doing standard and using the extra money on a TS meal or something. I have heard Pop is pretty easy to get around.

I don't mind walking for a few minutes and we will have a car. It looks as though most sections have a parking lot close by?

Are all the buildings refurbed now?

The first post of this Groovier thread has a section on Standard vs. Preferred including a link to a preferred room map.

Opinion? I'd say most people on these boards don't say preferred is necessary, that it's just a matter of preference. Pop is very easy to get around, and the difference between a preferred room and a standard room may be just a few steps or around a corner.

Hi Jan,
If you don't get your luggage tags in time, you can pick up your luggage at the airport and take it with you to the resort. If you are using Magic Express, the driver will help you put it in the luggage compartment below the bus. It sounds like all of the standard rooms were booked for the time you are going to be there but you can check back in case there is a cancellation. All of the basics about the Pop can be found on page 1 of this thread. It is a great place to stay. Have fun!

Yes. Well you have to take the bus to a park, and the nswitch over to the resort bus (or monorail or boat) you want to go to

Make sure you tell them that you need a medical refrigerator for the insulin. They are free. Call and have it put on your ressie and when you get there, tell them you have a medical refrigerator. We had one for my daughters medicine last month - and it's a dorm-size fridge - we had her medicine in there and juice for sugar and there was enough room for waters, milks and chocolate!

Hubby told me to make a new reservation for February/March but not to cancel September just yet. Sounds like TWO Disney trips for me next year!

Two days ago I had to wait 11 months to get to Disney. Today, I only have to wait 4 months. I AM SO PSYCHED! Made all my ADRs. Put in my building requests and my medical refrigerator request. Now, the wait - but with the holidays coming up, it should go nice and fast!

Never been down there in February/March. Anyone give me some clue on what to pack - shorts/pants, sweaters/coats??????

Jan, For the heck of it I just checked www.disneyworld.com under special offers and it shows a std room available for your nights for $266. You might want to call back and ask them to check code AK9.
Also, be sure to ask them to notify special needs that the fridge is for a for your DH who is diabetic. If they say there is a fee for the fridge, call 407-939-7907 option 1 - this is special needs requests and they will note your reservation.

I *just* replied to this on the Pop Refurb thread, and I thought I was seeing double!

The weather in February is all over the place - it was pretty chilly when I went in February, so you really need to be prepared.
