A bit of info to clarify the 2 of the new booking categories and higher price mentioned for POP:

Pop Century will now be a few dollars ($5 per night, to be exact) more expensive than the All-Star resorts.

- Pop Century also has two new views for 2012: Standard Pool View and Preferred Pool View

Does anyone know if they fixed the lighting in the last "P" on the sign?
About halfway through our trip the sign turned into "PO Century". Everyone on the night buses agreed that yes, it sure felt like a poor century to us.

Sounds like DreamWorks have sabotaged the sign for free advertising for Kung Fu Panda 2:lmao:

Thanks for the info. Thankfully for me I hate being near the pool. I'm also glad I wasn't loosing my mind on the 5.00. We will continue to stay at pop for me it is worth the extra 50.00 for the 10 days we go. I'm sure disney already knows that.

Could anyone tell me in regardings to connecting rooms (2 rooms with a door between them) - is it possible to get 1 king and 2 doubles?

 Oh, yes that is possible. At POP connecting rooms are generally every other room. We had 6 rooms in a row and every other was a connecting room, all dbl rooms. Every king HC room I've had at POP had a connecting room.

Good luck - easier to get connecting rooms during a slow season or if you have more children than adults, but we had all adults with the 6 rooms so it is still possible. Be sure reservations are linked in the Disney reservation system. Have fun!! :goodvibes

Do you mean 3 rooms total? If so, then no, you can't. You can get 1 king and 1 standard connecting, but there aren't 3 rooms that are connected to each other. You can see which rooms are connecting in the map in the first post.

We stayed at POP in October 2009. Hubby is itching to get back there. I noticed online that they are now offering a pool view preffered along with the regular preferred room locations? We were in the 70's building on that trip and I questioned it because it was a preferred room but seemed so far away. I am just used to AS Sports where a preferred location is right on top of everything:)

If you want to be by the main pool. I would just go with pool preferred. I guess there is suppose to be
Preferred
Pool preferred and
standard pool view also now.

I'm guessing the pool view preferred will be in the 60's. The other ones will be in the 50's and 90's sections.

Awesome! Thanks so much. I really dislike trying to figure out different scenaros but can't seem to do anything but these days. I was so much looking forward to us time. And 10-days in the same room was a bit much last time. 2 rooms at POP seems like a much better idea - especially if we're lucky enough that POP can accomodate us into 1 king & 1 double rom.

Alesia, I meant 2 rooms only, just 1 with 2 double beds. Thanks for the map!

We will be going to Disney in September and staying at POP for the first time and are really excited. Which rooms face Epcot so we can see the fireworks at night? We dont want to be by the pools at all so we are hoping that these do not fall into that area.

thanks!

I'm not sure where people are getting the standard pool view at? The TA site shows, standard....Preferred..and Preferred Pool View. No mention of a Standard Pool view...just the standard rooms

Pretty sure she meant 2.:thumbsup2 I had to read it a couple of times to be sure.:goodvibes

The quote was from Mouseplanet and they usually get it right. I wondered the same as you, so can only assume Disney will get it all worked out and not have a std pool category. I checked the TA site too and see the same as you. Who knows...

Would be silly to charge extra for any pool view at POP, but these days Disney execs are about sqeezing every penny out a guest.:sad2: Sad.

Let's hope not. I think 3 catergories is enough. I only see the 3 also but you never know. There was a issue with POR also but it seems disney fixed that one. I personally would never want a pool view. But I can see some who would.

I priced out a 7 day trip for March with pool view and dining, both of which we like...and it will cost us almost $1000 more than our 2009 trip. I think for that money, I'm gonna try and convince DH to do the cruise again and maybe stay a night or 2 at Universal.

We just did a price out also and even if FD does comes out again our package is around 200.00 more. But that is sticking with the QSDP again. 50.00 of it is the 5.00 more a night thing. I'm guessing the rest is ticket prices and probably the values themselves went up.

I'm glad it is not a 1000.00. :scared1: Love the lowes hotles at Universal we stayed at RPR once very nice.

LOL...we saw that too!~ The night we returned from 3am EMH at MK would have been 5/29 (or technically the 30th by then!), and it was 4am before we even got a bus back. So yeah....we felt like we were at the Po' hotel too.
