I just the FAQ portion of this thread and I have to say I am getting very excited about our first stay at POP next year! I also visited All Ears so I could see the food court menu. Can anyone share their favorite menu items from "Everything Pop!" I have a feeling we will be eating there allot since we are on the QSDP. Thanks!

We will be going to Disney in September and staying at POP for the first time and are really excited. Which rooms face Epcot so we can see the fireworks at night? We dont want to be by the pools at all so we are hoping that these do not fall into that area.

thanks!

Hi, we just got back from our first stay at Pop and we loved it. We were in building 2 (50's) and facing the lake. By going up to the fourth floor, the wing closest to the lake, we were able to see the fireworks from Epcot. We watched the fireworks on 2 different nights and were able to see pretty well. In fact we never did watch Illuminations while at Epcot, so we only have the 2 nights watching from Pop.

I really liked our room location. I thought our building was fairly close to Everything Pop, the buses, and the pool. The only drawback is that we were right above the unloading area for laundry. The mornings we left the room for early EMHs we didn't notice the loading/unloading, but the 2 mornings we slept a little later the noise from the golfcarts backing in and out was a little loud. But if we do decide to stay at Pop on our next visit, I will still request that same area.

Enjoy your stay!!

The Nachos were great! You can request any of the toppings be put on the side or left off. Greek salad was just so-so, but I'm not a fan of olives. The child's macaroni and cheese was horrible. DH liked the shrimp and pasta (can't remember what it was called) from the Asian counter, and the meatball sandwich. One thing we finally learned by our last night, if you want lettuce, pickles, or tomato for your hamburger, tell them or you will get it plain. Burgers were okay btw.

Sorry I can't comment on more, we didn't eat in there except for 2, maybe 3 times in the late afternoon/evening.

The Mom's TV dinners are good if you want a meat and vegetable, and it is not the same every night.

Building 3 facing the lake is also a good location. The higher you are the better the view, but you are able to see from lower levels. If you cannot see from your building so watch from the lake near buildings 2 and 3.

I'm not sure where people are getting the standard pool view at? The TA site shows, standard....Preferred..and Preferred Pool View. No mention of a Standard Pool view...just the standard rooms

On the Disney website, when you look for the pricing for 2012, they now have 4 types of rooms for Pop: Standard, Pool View, Preferred Pool View, and Preferred. I'm thinking that the regular Pool View that's being referred to might be of the Bowling Pin Pool or the Computer Pool. Just a guess though. :confused3

Would you share the dates you checked? I've been checking both TA and the Disney site for 2012, but still only 3 booking categories showing up.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Found it!

I love the Chicken Alfredo and the Tyedye cheesecake, you can also get an icecream sundae as dessert , you can get it after your meal by showing your receipt.

Jenseib - look at my post directly above yours, from 8:44 this morning, for explanation. :thumbsup2 The categories are all listed, just not booking yet. Disney continues to have one of the worst websites of any in the hospitality industry.

Hey jenseib! :goodvibes

Try here: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/pop-century-resort/

Click on the left sidebar link for Room Types and Pricing. I clicked on the 2012 Fall Value Season and came up with 4 sets of rates for that season(I'm pricing a Christmas graduation trip for my DD's High School graduation :santa: ).

Disney needs to sprinkle some pixie dust on their website. pixiedust:

jenseib must be typing before she reads all the posts b/c I posted the info before she posted .:thumbsup2

Let's try to read all replies before posting as it makes it much easier for folks to find answers...and saves pages as we are getting near time to start a new thread.:goodvibes

Thanks everyone!:goodvibes

I love the Shrimp Lo Mein. While not a large meal, it is really tasty. The pizza is also a popular choice with our family- 2 quick service credits pays for 1 large pizza, 2 drinks and 2 desserts. The pizza would feed 3-4 depending on age and appetite.

Christine I see the 4 !!! I am still presuming the Preferred Pool view is the 60's ,/50's, the Pool view would be the 90,s or 80,s and the preferred would be the 60's, 70's and 50's that are not pool view and yes I know no pool in the 70's
For me I could care less about a Pool view , in fact I prefer the Lakeside !!Also like ground floor , but Judy:scared1:she would like the Preferred Pool view !!!

Pool view preferred??? Guess she enjoys the excitement around the pool! :yay:
I'm with you, give me a peaceful lake view - no pref required.:thumbsup2

It is not showing for a booking option, but it is listed here: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/res...ason+-+Weekday

I read it, but it still isn't booking that way, so unless someone see that link... they would never know that extra Cat. is available, and also at this point and time they are not booking the 4th cat.

I did, but it doesn't allow for booking the 4th cat and says nothing about summer rates either...which would be more.

I do and did, (and many others repeat posts all the time...didn't really liked being singled out there) but it had nothing to do with the actual booking site...which is where someone had said it was located. They also list prices of dinners, etc at wrong prices on the site all the time. And say things are or are not included, when it isn't true. I haven't checked lately, but last I checked it said the Wonderland teaparty (with the wrong price) includes lunch, which is hasn't for almost 2 years now. When it comes down to it, I only go by what the actual booking site says, as you are paying for that upfront.

You are better off reading stuff on All Ears to get more accurate info...though thats not updated all the time either.

I Love the turkey Cabbita, Nachos, Chicken pam is very good also. We love the QSDP this will be our second year using it. We also ordered a large pizza last year and that was good also. I'm a huge fan of the tie dye cheesecake also. :thumbsup2

I did not read a post saying they were able to book it, only that they saw it on the Disney site. I did ask everyone to please read all posts before posting, but you posted right after mine so it appeared that you did not read it at all and being a long time member of this thread, I expected you would.

I have said the same about the Disney site - and allears may be a very good site, but often has incorrect information. There is not one source with perfect up to date information, which is why people come here, hoping to find the latest and correct info. We try to do our best to keep it accurate, but we have no control over members posting what they saw on the disneyworld.com site or elsewhere - they are only trying to be helpful.:thumbsup2

The 4th category is irrelevant at this time b/c it is not bookable, so let's end the discussion here by letting everyone know:

www.disneyworld.com does have 4 POP categories listed, but it is not loaded on the booking site at this time, therefore cannot yet be booked. When a DISer is able to book a std pool view room on that site, please let us know.:flower3:
