We will be at POP 8/14-8/21 and requested a King bed in 50's section building 1. This was where we were last year and we loved the location. Fingers crossed we get our requests but even if we dont, we are still in Disney, woohoo!

Is this a preferred room?

We will be there at that time as well!

We will be there around that time too 8/15-8/22 requested connecting rooms in the 50's section and payed for a preferred. Will be happy with any decade but really hoping for the connecting rooms.
11 more days can't wait!!!!

I was wondering if anyone knew the status on the 60s being refurbed yet? We requested this decade for our trip that begins in 12 days!! We have paid for preferred if that helps.

This is the first time I've ever booked our room online. Can I make a request to be in a certain building when I do the online check-in or do I need to call for that?

60s is already completed and I saw confirmation on the refurb thread that someone called direct to the resort and someone recently returned and stayed in the 60s. The 60s were completed before the 50s...it appears they are going to be done soon which is awesome!

If you want to try for a specific building then you need to call Disney reservations ahead of time -- you can do it today -- and add those notes to your reservation. The online check-in does not provide for open requests such as buildings. Last time I used online check-in, in January, the room request choices were: 1. ground floor 2. crib 3. fridge

I didn't remember the request section from last year. That is great. Are there any other choices besides those three?

I'm soo happy! We weren't going to be able to go to WDW this year but found out a couple of days ago, it looks like we can! We are booked from 12-12 to 12-17. Doing things low key this year! loved pop last year!! Can't wait. We just took a standard room. We've always stayed preferred before. I asked for a refurbished room. Any suggestions on the best buildings? Last year we were in the jungle book building. :cool1:

We stayed in the 70's building and my kids loved it. The 60's is near the flower pool and that is great too. Depends on whether or not you want action or quiet.

I always ask for 70's Big Wheel, non-preferred because it's close to Classic Hall and the closest building to the buses.

I'm doing my online check-in right now. They also have "Near Transportation" for room requests.

Do you think this could be interpreted as "near parking lots" We are not driving so I really do not want to be near the parking lots.

I really hate to call and wait through their system..but I think I am going to have to in order to make a room request. We are under the 4 wk mark...I should do that soon, right?

I might actually make a request similar to the "70's Big Wheel" since we want to be close to the main hall and the buses.

I would assume that near transportation would mean the buses, but I could be wrong.

I just called to make my room request. Was only on hold for about 10 seconds.

I called (407) 939-7429. On the website it says it's for Resort Room-Only Bookings. There was an automated thing where you had to respond to a few questions before you could speak with someone.

The Vacation Package Booking number is (407) 939-7675. Or there's one for all other questions: (407) 939-6244.

I wasn't sure which to call since I wasn't actually booking a room, just making a room request. Not sure it matters. Seems like I can always get to what I want no matter which number I call.

Just make sure your get e-mail conformation. I just added 60's section lake view last week and I got a conformation and it wasn't on there. Called back and they added it and sent me a new one. :yay:

I would just call. I hate calling also.

Ok... so I called the first number... that was less than helpful. The room-only number. That's actually the number for main reservations. They told me that they could not see my reservation because I had used a travel agent. She said I'd have to confirm through my travel agent my room request. I said that I know my travel agent had it.. I wanted to know if THEY had it. She said she couldn't say, but that if I called the resort directly, 407-938-4000, a couple days before, they'd be able to view it. So, of course, I called the direct number now. She said that they can't see my reservation until 3 days before. But she could ADD my request. So I told her I'd already requested 70's first floor, so I asked if she could add "building 10" to my request. She did. Oh, and the main reservations person said I would not be able to do online check-in since I used a travel agent. The person at the Pop front desk said yes I can. I wish they'd get their stories straight. :worried:

The bus stop is right next to a big parking lot. I think they will know that you mean the bus stop.
