Has anyone ever requested an extra luggage rack for your room (I guess that is what it is called- the small metal rack with black bands that holds your suitcase)? I have never asked for one because I figured they only had one per room. It would be great to have one if there were extras available.

Ok... so I called the first number... that was less than helpful. The room-only number. That's actually the number for main reservations. They told me that they could not see my reservation because I had used a travel agent. She said I'd have to confirm through my travel agent my room request. I said that I know my travel agent had it.. I wanted to know if THEY had it. She said she couldn't say, but that if I called the resort directly, 407-938-4000, a couple days before, they'd be able to view it. So, of course, I called the direct number now. She said that they can't see my reservation until 3 days before. But she could ADD my request. So I told her I'd already requested 70's first floor, so I asked if she could add "building 10" to my request. She did. Oh, and the main reservations person said I would not be able to do online check-in since I used a travel agent. The person at the Pop front desk said yes I can. I wish they'd get their stories straight. :worried:

Ugh I've had this issue before. You do have to do everything through the travel agent. That's good to know that Pop can add a request even if you booked with a TA, thanks for the info. I do know that you CAN do online check-in even if you used a travel agent. I booked with AAA using a TA last year and did the online check-in. Once you get your paperwork from Disney, the reservation is yours and you can make requests and things like that, so you can definitely do online check-in. Thanks for the info!

especially since there is only 3 drawers. Would make living out of a suitcase a lot easier

My TA has always made my online check in for me !! But are you sure you are talking to POP I have been told that it is not actually Pop but a central line!!!

Ok POP people please help! We just decided we need to change our Aug 2011 trip from CSR to POP due to money. I'm only really sad about the queen beds! anyways I was just reading the menu for POP and didn't see Breadsticks on it.:scared1: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me they do have them? I always get them at the Allstars and they are my favorite snack.:cool1:

Also what are my chances of getting a king room, upper floor if we go preferred? DD likes to fall asleep with us sometimes and is a bed hog! DH and I barely fit in the doubles as it is:confused3

Thanks for the help!

Just a did a quick search and I found that you can get a side of breadsticks at the Pizza Shop area at Pop for $1.89. Not sure if they are the same. Here is the link http://allears.net/menu/menu_popct.htm

Do not know about the king room.

You won't be able to get a king room unless your daughter is under three.

If she is under 3, there are only 12 rooms in the entire resort that fit your qualifications, and all of them are handicap accessible. So it's possible, but your chances aren't great.

When in August 2011 are you going we should be there August 19th thru 27th dates not set in stone yet , but DGDs(Twins) turn 16 on the 22nd !!!

Yes, I saw that and that what I was wondering:confused3 at the allstars its like 4.99 for breadsticks:confused:

Sorry yes she will be 1.5 at the time. I was under the impression from the first post there was 81 Standard King rooms, with 20 on the first floors? This is our first trip with DD and when DH and I go we only request a top floor room for the noise, but now with DD its a whole new ball game. And I wouldn't want a handicap accessible room, I would feel bed thinking someone else might better need that room.

I will say we LOVED at Allstars, the service and CM's were better then at the POLY:scared1: I am excited to be bringing DD for the first time even at 1.5 I think she will love the big icons! We are going the 20th thru the 25th, then cruising the Dream for the weekend! That's so nice to get to be there for their birthdays! Make you put it on your ressie so you will get special treatment! last year we went for DH b-day and he got so much attention, he loved it! A signed pic from Minnie and Mickey and lots of free cup cakes (which he didn't need!):rotfl2:

Hey Dizzie! There are 80 kings size beds but for a top floor and stuff in either standard or preferred it narrows it down more. But if you request King Size Bed , top floor they'll get the king size bed is priority!

And as for the breadsticks they are the exact same ones and are yummy and come with yummy sauce on the side

:cool1: Thank you!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana: I had a nightmare last night about not having my breadsticks!:rotfl2: I can't wait to wash them down with some tie-dye cheesecake!

Sounds like a good idea for the room request! thanks!:)

There are 20 king rooms on the top floors, but only 12 of them are preferred. All of the king rooms on the top floors are handicap accessible. From what I can see on the map in post 1, there are only 3 preferred, non-handicap acessible, king rooms, and none of them are on the 4th floor.

oh sorry it doesn't have tp be 4th floor just not ground!

Maybe i am confussed by the first post with the map :confused3 I thought 2 king standard rooms per floor on the lower 3 floors, so 6 per building, so 60 rooms total. by taking out the ground floor rooms that leaves 40 rooms. With like 16 maybe (trying to do quick math :rotfl2:) that are preferred.

Am I wrong?:confused3

Okay, maybe I'm missing something but why would they put handicapped rooms on the top floors? I know there are elevators, but why would you make it more difficult for them to get to their room?:confused3

I don't think they are. I believe the handicapped rooms are on floors 1-3 not 4 and King bed rooms that are NOT handicapped rooms are still only on floors 1-3. But maybe I am wrong too :surfweb:

I don't have any paperwork from Disney!!!! I just have my confirmation from my TA! :scared:

I just booked my 10/24-10/30/10 trip  via phone to 1-407-w-disney phone line and I gave my request (preferred room, ground floor, pool side but most important adjoining room with MIL) Now I would like all those requests but the very most important thing is that our rooms are together. I asked the woman who helped us make the reservation about the 10 day check in and she said NOT to do this if I had those requests. She said I would have a better chance getting my requests if I checked in the day of IN PERSON. Anybody have a different opinion or was I given good advice here:confused:? I am not a picky person and would not feel my trip was ruined if I didn't get what I wanted but we really need those adjoining rooms with MIL or she will not be happy :scared1:

TIA,
Tina

Do you have a package deal? Did you not get the package booklet that has the coupons for the arcade, mini-golf, etc? Disney should have mailed this to your TA and then your TA mails it to you. Your Disney reservation # would be on that and that is the number you use for online check-in.

Ask your TA to give you the Disney reservation #. That is what you need for online check-in. I used Dreams Unlimited and I was able to do online check-in with no issues.

Maybe i am confussed by the first post with the map :confused3 I thought 2 king standard rooms per floor on the lower 3 floors, so 6 per building,

It's only buildings 2, 4, 6, 8, & 9.

so 60 rooms total.

So it's actually 30...

by taking out the ground floor rooms that leaves 40 rooms.

...which leaves 20 rooms

With like 16 maybe (trying to do quick math :rotfl2:) that are preferred.

As far as preferred goes, there are 4 in building 4 and 2 in building 6, so you have a total of 6. Can you tell that I have a little bit of a math obsession? :)

You can certainly request it, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. There is, of course the possibility that they would put you in a handicap accessible room if they don't need it for someone who is actually handicapped, which would open up your options. Some of them have regular bathtubs and some have roll-in showers. I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

Okay, so this is based on one experience only, but last year I had room requests on my reservation AND I checked in online, and I got the exact room request I wanted. I asked for ground floor in a 50s building and got it.
