Yes, I saw that and that what I was wondering:confused3 at the allstars its like 4.99 for breadsticks:confused:

Sorry yes she will be 1.5 at the time. I was under the impression from the first post there was 81 Standard King rooms, with 20 on the first floors? This is our first trip with DD and when DH and I go we only request a top floor room for the noise, but now with DD its a whole new ball game. And I wouldn't want a handicap accessible room, I would feel bed thinking someone else might better need that room.

I will say we LOVED at Allstars, the service and CM's were better then at the POLY:scared1: I am excited to be bringing DD for the first time even at 1.5 I think she will love the big icons! We are going the 20th thru the 25th, then cruising the Dream for the weekend! That's so nice to get to be there for their birthdays! Make you put it on your ressie so you will get special treatment! last year we went for DH b-day and he got so much attention, he loved it! A signed pic from Minnie and Mickey and lots of free cup cakes (which he didn't need!):rotfl2:

I smell a MEET!!!!!!!:banana: We have only ever stayed at Pop as we loved it soooo much the first time and everytime since !!Your chances are better for the King with an infant though!!We always get 2 rooms as there are 5 of us !! Usually we got connecting but as the girls are older now close by will be fine !! They still have GRANNY in with them:lmao::lmao:Your DD will prolly love The Goofy Jets that are in the 70's !! I love sitting by the Lake in the morning it is sooo quiet and peaceful!!

Booked a quick trip for 9/3-9/5 and staying at Pop :cool1: It has been a while. Unfortunately, not there for very long...just a quick day at MK to celebrate being new passholders! :yay:

Do you have a package deal? Did you not get the package booklet that has the coupons for the arcade, mini-golf, etc? Disney should have mailed this to your TA and then your TA mails it to you. Your Disney reservation # would be on that and that is the number you use for online check-in.

Ask your TA to give you the Disney reservation #. That is what you need for online check-in. I used Dreams Unlimited and I was able to do online check-in with no issues.

OOoh that explains it..... I'm NOT a package. We're room only. We have AP's. I also don't really need the coupons because we get discounts as AP holders and/or DVC members all over the place. I know what coupons you mean though, because we had a AAA package once upon a time. I was going to do online check in today, but haven't done it yet. I wonder if my reservation number that I have will work. I didn't use DREAMS!!!

Okay, so this is based on one experience only, but last year I had room requests on my reservation AND I checked in online, and I got the exact room request I wanted. I asked for ground floor in a 50s building and got it.

We did online check in for our stay last night. I'm pretty sure I'd only used it once before. The first time, we didn't get our request. Yesterday, we did. I can't find anything to say which is really better when it comes to getting your requested building. I know we've made requests and NOT used it, and still didn't get what we wanted. When we don't get our choice, we've simply asked the CM while checking in and have been able to get what we want with no problem.

Off topic, but... This morning, I saw a man, seemed to have just checked in, pushing a stroller with a microwave on it to a room! I thought it was wild. This is something you've not allowed/supposed to have at there, isn't it?? :confused3

I just completed online check in. My request was ground floor 70's section. under requests, it had ground floor.... didn't mention the 70's at all. THAT was the important part of the request. So there's this button that says edit request. So I click it, and it takes me to 4 check boxes. One said ground floor... the other said Near Transportation (which I don't care about) and the other two were pack n play and refrigerator. That's it. No box to write in a particular building or section!! I also requested rehabbed.. but that wasn't on there either. I'm going to call tomorrow and ask. Sigh:crazy2:

Weird. It had a part to add so many characters worth of request info before. Thinking about, you are right though. I don't remember seeing that when I checked in wednesday night. My only request for last night was ground floor. We didn't care which building we got. We got 90's, new room, ground floor. Room 8117 to be exact. :rotfl: It was a great location for us since we drive. We parked in the 80's lot on the map and were super close to our door. Hope you're able to get what you want! If you don't, please just ask the CM. They've always been able to get what we really wanted with just a short phone call. :goodvibes

So you think maybe they changed the form? :confused3 I don't care for the 80's or 90's..... just not the decades that I want to reminisce about! :hippie: I'm a 70's gal!

It's only buildings 2, 4, 6, 8, & 9.

So it's actually 30...

...which leaves 20 rooms

As far as preferred goes, there are 4 in building 4 and 2 in building 6, so you have a total of 6. Can you tell that I have a little bit of a math obsession? :)

You can certainly request it, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. There is, of course the possibility that they would put you in a handicap accessible room if they don't need it for someone who is actually handicapped, which would open up your options. Some of them have regular bathtubs and some have roll-in showers. I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

Hmm... Would I be crazy to put a or request? I see very small odds in us getting that and if I can't get the preferred, king room, I'd rather just ask for a top floor quiet area, maybe lake facing. Either way I will stress till we get there, then forget all about it cause hey "we are at DISNEY" who cares!:rotfl2:

Last year I checked in online and have requested (at allstar movies) Upper floor, Love Bug or dalmations. We got a ground floor in love bug. I politely asked if there were any top floor rooms open, as DH and I are light sleepers. The CM asked and we were changed to Mighty Ducks, top floor, loved the room. I think its a 50/50 chance either way, if you don't get what you want, just ask and be nice!

:banana:Dh and the family will think I'm nuts (Ok they already do! They don't understand the world of DIS) I think its so fun! Our orig plan was to stay at CSR but due to money we needed to down-grade ;), I think DD will like pop so much better! The big icons and the goofy jets! It would be nice sitting by the lake in the am, maybe some day when DD is 30 and DH is in his 50's :rotfl2: Although DD is quite a sleeper:banana:

Agreed. If we end up going the fridge route over the cooler, I will purchase one of the 1.7 c feet from Walmart for around $60 bucks, lol.

I did attempt to get in on a swap but it looks like a lot of the fridges are lost.

That is such a good idea, to buy your own little fridge! Especially right now with back to school-you can get one for $50-$70 which is what it would cost us to rent one from POP. I guess as long as you have the room to haul it with you and are planning to stay at Values for your next trips this would be a good investment.

Thanks for the idea, I will talk to DH about it!:thumbsup2

ok, I think I lost it in the 200+ pages here, but is the 70's refurbed? Someone posted that was a great building for nonpreferred rooms. Just wondering. I really need to get some paper and start writing stuff down as I read it. LOL:santa:

I asked a few days ago about the 70's and was told that they're finished. The only ones not done are the 50's.

You probably already know this, but some of the 70's buildings are preferred. We always request 70's Big Wheel Bldg 10, non perferred. It's close to Classic Hall and the buses

Oh, I would definitely still request it, just be prepared if you don't get it.

List your requests in order of importance, such as:
Quiet location
King room
Lake facing

This year and last year we bought hangers at Wal-mart upon arrival (we drove down). Hangers are the best. I did one outfit per hanger (both shorts and shirt).

This worked well for us and the drawers were left for the unhangables like socks and undies.

With the smaller dresser issue...what do you guys think about those hangable cubbies? It's almost like hanging dresser drawers. We have 2 rooms and I was thinking if I could find maybe 2-4 that would really help with space. Especially for the boys, most of their clothes are folded.

I think the fridge option is $10 a day. They like that number. Internet is $10 a day. Anyway, you can buy a dorm fridge at Target for $49.99. And keep it. I actually had one in my cart, but then I kept looking at it, and I kept thinking how is that gonna fit?:confused3 We normally would have room, but on the way to Disney we're taking DS18 to college and we'll have all his worldly belongings.... but he's a boy.... so its only a fraction of what we had for DD... but then we didn't have take her to college on the way to Disney either. She went in-state. I put the fridge back! We'll have to stick with ice in ziploc bags and daily trips to the ice machine. I like to keep milk and water cold. I drink lactaid milk and so far as I've ever seen, none of the resort food courts have it.

Hitting self on forehead!! Why didn't I think of that!! I just bought 2 regular cubes for DD8's tiny clothes. What a great idea!! That would have been even better and they're on sale all over town because this is the back to school tax free weekend in Virginia. Do I have time to run out again and shop... less than 24 hours to go!:hyper:

Is there a picture somewhere that shows what the current refillable mugs look like?

Nevermind, I found it on the first page of this thread.

Just made my payment for our first trip to Pop and so excited!
We are totally undecided about where we want to stay (everyone wants a different spot). My DH suggested we just wing it and see what we get. (or maybe he wants me to quit asking him what he thinks?) Has anyone just not made a request? I'm thinking no matter what we request we may not get it anyway because we are a late (11 p.m.) arrival.
