I'm really looking forward to POP after reading all your comments. I was dis-appointed at first because I couldn't afford a moderate (will miss my coffee pot.LOL) but after reading all this I'm looking forward to POP. never stayed there but you make it sound very fun.:cool1::yay:

This is the second year we have signed up for a fridge/coffee pot swap! We did a swap at ASMO's last summer and had no problems at all! We've signed up for one at POP in December! Check out the ones available under the Budget Board! Good luck and enjoy your trip!:thumbsup2

Thank you so much for the thread! Posts 1 and 2 are wonderful. I am by no means a hotel fanatic, but, I have been concerned about the size of the Pop rooms. We have two rooms booked, and we are suppose to be getting connecting rooms (my grandmother is hearing impaired, so they "sort of guaranteed it to us" no idea how this will actually work.) So, in other words, I am excited about having the extra space of two rooms.

I will say though, I am excited about the resort itself, as I think the theming is adorable. There are many of the moderates and deluxes that actually don't appeal to me in theme in any way.

Anyway, I am very excited, as is my entire family! :yay:

:dance3:

I check into Pop Sunday night cannot wait to check this one out. Thanks for all the great information!!

Why not upgrade to 10 day PH. It'll only cost a few dollars more.
I am FORCING myself to take some DOWNtime for the first time - ever - for me - and us! Downtime means DTD, mini-golf, DTD, TS3 movie in 3D, laundry, pools!, ADRs we need to attend, etc. :thumbsup2 I'm thinking DOWN TIME won't be what I think it'll be, but I'm TRYING! :rolleyes1 ;)

You are going to love it. It was my first resort on my first trip to the world in 2007 and i loved it. Now i am going again this year i cant wait!

We booked our first stay in at POP and under the 30 day mark now. My dd and I are getting excited. She is a little upset we are not staying where we stayed last time All Star Music FS. We loved it. I heard good things about POP transportation and with it just being the 3 of us, I thought we could use a change. Any tips?

Yes! Make sure to get a room close to the Classic Hall thats where you check in and where the food court, shop and arcades are in.

Do you have a room # you would recommend? I am bringing my mother who is 70+. I have not booked a preferred room. It didn't seem to me that a preferred room got you any closer to the main building, just closer to the main pool. I do plan to put in a request that we are close to the Classic Hall, but would it be better to have a building if not a room in mind? I was thinking in the 70's section. (?) Any opinion?

TIA

Interested in knowing this too. Requested 70's refurbished and I'm hoping this was a good choice. 3 more days!

I dont have a room # for you but the building closest to the classic hall is the 60's building. But keep in mind that rooms facing the lake are a lot quieter than rooms facing the pool something to think about when asking for a preferred room. I think a bottom floor room would be best for your mother if she uses a wheel chair or a cart.

Asking for a specific room number is a bad idea because if they can't give you that specific room, they have no way to know what you would prefer instead. I would just request "as close to classic hall as possible."

Thanks for the response. I was wondering about the bottom floor. She isn't in a chair, but we anticipate renting on..possibly. Are the bottom rooms problematic with people walking/running around outside the room?

As for preferred, I thought they may in fact be louder since they face the pool. We don't need to face the pool, so I didn't spend the extra to put us there.

:thumbsup2 thanks sounds like a good plan!

Great thread! I have stayed at Pop 3 out of my 4 stays at WDW and I have always enjoyed it.

Loving the refurbed rooms! I wasn't planning on Pop again for my next trip...but I may be reconsidering it :goodvibes

We are going in October! Can't wait first time the whole family is staying at POP. I stayed there for a girls only trip back in August of last year.

Not really. We always try to get a ground floor room because it's so much easier with two little guys in a stroller. We've stayed first floor in the 50's, 70's, and 80's, poolside when possible. The only time noise was even a little bit of an issue was our most recent 50's stay and that was due to the music playing at the pool, not guest traffic. :goodvibes

Did you hear the people walking around in the room above you? I like to ask for a first floor room, but worried about hearing others above us.

We've requested a preferred room in the 70's building. I thought from the map that I saw it looked fairly close to the main building. Am I correct in assuming this? Since my husband and I were both 70's babies I thought that would be fun. Personally I'd love to stay in 80's but that didn't look as close. Any thoughts?
