Had a wonderful stay thanks to all the information I found on here. I had a preferred room, in the 70's section, bldg 10. Although I requested the 70's section, I fell in love with the themes from the 60's and 80's (just loved the color of the buildings). My room was not refurbished but I loved the decor in the rooms I had (requested a room change after the first night because the mattress in that room was just horrible). Rest of my stay was uneventful (except someone did try to break into my sister's car). I reported it to security and they took a report. This didn't affect the trip b/c we realized had left the kids portable DVD players out in the open. Once we took those down had no other problems.

Somebody please refresh my memory... Are all the DA rooms at POP king size bed rooms? DD needs frige for growth hormone injections so I'm thinking they will put us in DA room. We have two rooms booked 3 adults 2 kids; I was hoping for a king size DA room with connecting full bed rooms?

They won't put you in an accessible room just because you need a fridge.

There are only 18 king rooms in each building, you can certainly request one, but you may not get it. If having connecting rooms is more important to you than getting a king room, make sure that you give connecting rooms priority when you make your request.

Had a wonderful, fun filled perfect trip. Got the room request...50's building 3, lake view and end room!!!
Since my hubs family owns a travel agency I was able to have a tour of the new refurbed rooms and got a little scoop!! The renos will not be done for another 9 to 12 months as they will not be doing them during the summer due to high volume!! I took some pictures and will post them soon. The flat screen was originally mounted on the wall and after they did one whole building they went in and took them down and set them on the dresser...they couldnt swivel on the wall so now on the dresser they can face whichever bed you want!
In the bathroom they installed a curved shower curtain for a little more room. I thought the dresser space was decent.
As for the property across the lake they are planning on being done 2012.
She said there will be one building dedicated to family suites and the rest will be rooms like at POP....the pools are going to be an Ariel pool and a race car pool!!
The cast members all went above and beyond for us this trip and it was a great experience for my 1st time DWer friend.

Thank you for the update. Its good to know that all the rooms wont be re-do for several months. For me it helps a lot, because I will ask for a re-done room in hopes the beds are better. I have a bad back and last time the beds were really bad. Did they say if any of the preferred rooms would be done by late Aug?

I agree that you won't necessarily get a Handicap Accessible room just because you have requested a fridge for medical reasons. If you want a king room you may request one in addition to your request for connecting rooms.

We were thinking about asking for back side of jukebox again to see the fireworks, but if the 60s are all that we may have to reconsider.

I like the lake view side of building 3 personally! The 60's is just closer to the food court etc....I personally think it would be loud if you were facing the pool! I like quieter better!
The pools are open 24hrs now!

Im wondering how to request what I like, Ill list it below and anyone who has any feed back, that would be great.

1. New room, so we get a new bed
2. Close to main building (we are paying for preferred)
3. King bed

Last week one of the 50's bldgs still not refurbed. Had a 3400 room (Tramp Bldg from lady & The Tramp). It had the lake view.

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering, does anyone have a favorite pool at Pop? Is one 'usually' less crowded than another?
And does anyone know if the pools are 24hr or if they close at midnight still?
