What number do I use to fax requests to POP, how should I word it, and when should I fax it???

I agree what happened to the 180 days. When we made our reservation for 11/30-12/7, they informed it has changed to 90 days for ADRs.

On the first page is a number. I use that fax number twice so far and it's worked. Also there should be a link to a copy of the fax I sent it. So far we have received our requests each time. All Ears also has suggestions on how to do a fax, which is where I got my idea of how to write it up. I think they suggest 4 days prior. We have always arrived on a Sunday and have sent our faxes on the Wed prio after 4 PM.

I just booked a quick trip for my brother and I right before he starts school again! :banana: I booked Pop because I've been there twice before and love it, and he's never been (the darn resort snob has a great sister who treats him to moderate + deluxe!) I love POP and can't wait to show him. I booked a standard room and would really be unhappy with a parking lot view. I don't have any kind of specific view request, I just don't want to see the parking lot. Any suggestions on how to word the request and if this kind of thing can be honored? Thanks!

Hey everyone. I have a question. I am going to be paying my deposit today for Pop and I want to put in a request. I think I'd like to stay in the 50's building this time, I'm not sure. Last year we stayed in 70's. We have a 3 year old who will most likely be exhausted when we get back to the hotel, so I'd like to be close enough to the bus stops and classic hall. We are doing standard, not preferred. What building #'s in particular would you all recommend for any of the buildings? Thanks so much :)

Followup question..lol..Is 80's #9 a good close location? I'm looking at the maps, and I just don't know what I should request. Thanks!

There's another tidbit farther down on the first post that says:

'60s = 840 feet
'80s = 945 feet
'90s = 945 feet
'70s = 950 feet
'50s = 980 feet

So 50's is the farthest. I happen to like 50's and I was in the farthest out room: backside of Jukebox, 4th floor. We are used to staying at Shades of Green and walking to the Poly alot. That's 15-20 minutes so Pop was a piece of cake. I've read that people really like the 90's because some how they cut threw and are at the bus in no time. Hope this helps.

Can you see the illuminations from there? And if we get too tired, we might be at POP before 9. :surfweb:

:sad2:No you can't see illuminations from there. I would recommend the Tramp building #3 or the jukebox building #2. Request top floor, lake & fireworks view. This has been our request and you can see illuminations in a distance. You get a quite room being on the top floor. If you are wanting a king bed instead of 2 doubles, go for the jukebox building and make sure you include that on your request since the rooms lakeside with a fireworks view in the Tramp building are 2 doubles.

Hope this helps:thumbsup2

I'm aiming for an 8:15am ADR at Tusker House at AK. Do I need to be at the AK bus stop by 7 or do you think 7:30 is good? Has anyone done this recently from Pop?

Great question! We are hoping (fingers crossed) that we can get an ADR for Tusker House between 8:00-8:15 and I was wondering what time we'd need to leave.

Also, what about an early reservation for Crystal Palace? We are shooting for an ADR for there for about the same time.

We always give ourselves an hour to get from our resort to our early morning adrs. This has always been enough time and sometimes we're a little early.

Is there a pool in the 70's area? Close to building 7 or is there just the Goofy's water fountain thingy?

I would say yes. Sometimes the early buses that take people to ADR's make more than one stop. I beleive the AK bus may make more than one stop as well, if my momory serves me right this early AM. LOL!

I would allow no less than an hour. Yes, you may be early. One morning, we had CRT at 8:15, and we were running a little bit behind. We didn't get to the bus stop until 7:20, there was a huge line for MK, and we knew we wouldn't make it on the first bus.... The buses don't run as often before park opening.

We had a Tusker 8am ADR, and were at the bus stop at 7. Remember that TUsker is WAAAYYYY back in the back of AK, so you need to allow for walking time once you get in the park!

Keep in mind, though, that you can't really see IllumiNations from Pop. You can see a few of the fireworks, but IllumiNations is not a fireworks show. Most of the show takes place on the lagoon and can't be seen from outside the park.

Thanks for the info. It's times like this that I wish I had a car. I may do a cab. Thanks

I am looking for advice from all the POP veterans! This will be our first time at the POP. "We" = me, DH, DS14, DD10, DSIL, DBIL, DNeph09, DNiece07. We paid for 3 preferred rooms due to a really bad room assignment at CSR several years ago. We have requested 2 connecting rooms, with one adjoining room. We are trying to figure out what is the best area of the resort for us. Here are some facts:
1. would like to be close to the bus stops and classic hall (after our 20+ minute walk at CSR, this is a must for my DH)
2. don't care about noise from pools - everyone else but me can sleep like the dead
3. wouldn't mind being near pools but is not a make/break factor
4. we're driving so expect to be schlepping luggage
5. are arriving very early and plan to leave luggage, register and probably not get a room in the morning. We'll come back later for to find out our room assignment
6. really, just want to be in a convenient location. A fun "view" would be nice...

Are we asking too much? We typically stay at SOG and already know that the room will be much smaller. But the atmosphere of the hotel will, I hope, neutralize that!
I have to fax any requests this week. Any suggestions???
thanks!!

Good news! There are very short walks from all the buildings at Pop.

Not sure if you've looked at the very first post but there are links to building maps that show where the preferred rooms are located. Look under "Classic Years rooms".

Also listed in the first post is this:

*worse case, rooms furthest from Classic Hall will take 6-7 minutes to walk to the building.

The only thing that matters is what your family is looking for. My family has stayed in the 50's building 4th floor, lakeview (Jukebox building, closest to the parking lot, we had our own car, very quiet) we could see fireworks from Epcot and Magic Kingdom and the 70's building big wheel, 3rd floor, lakeview (shorter walk to classic hall for us, very quiet). We have only done standard.

I've only stayed at POP, but from what I have read, the values are MUCH less spread out than the mods and deluxes. So I would guess the longest walk at POP will seem short to you compared to what you experienced before :thumbsup2 Our room was 90's 4th floor last trip. We cut across the parking lot and were to the bus stop in 5 minutes or less (and we had a 4 year old with us). There are spots in the 90's building 1st floor that are close to the parking lot too - that would be even shorter.

I'm new fairly new to this site and will be arriving at POP on August 21. We're looking for a room overlooking the lake with a view of the nighttime fireworks. I'm being advised that 60's bldg 4 and 50's bldg 3 are the est bets?? Any advice.....

Also, how far are these ares from the main hall (drink refill station) and the busses??

Thanks again.....:wizard:
