Yes, those are excellent locations for being lake side and a view of the fireworks - it is the top of IllumiNations you can see and sometimes Wishes in the distance...not from all rooms, but if the room does not face the fireworks you can usually just step outside and look in that direction. My advise would be to request:

1.Fireworks view
2.4th floor
3.Lake side

Of course, put these in order of importance and not more than 3. :thumbsup2 Not all rooms lake side have a fireworks view and not all fireworks view would be lake side.

Definitely ask at check-in if they could possibly find a room to fit your request. Often a different room is assigned but the CM will try to find another ~ although it will be very crowded and the resort likely full, so try not to be too disappointed if they are not able to accommodate the requests.

Hope this helps and have a great trip!! :goodvibes

I didn't realize that not all of the fireworks views were lakeside. I left lakeside off my request to keep it down to 3, maybe I'll change it in my letter I fax. I don't now how lucky I'll be anyway because we won't be checking in until proabably at least 8:00pm. I'm going to do online check-in to get our names in the system, but I know that won't help our room assignments.

I think preferred rooms are the 50's 60's and 70's !! The preferred is cuz thy are close to Classic Hall The 60's has a lot of poolside preferred ad some that are Lake side and quieter but close to Classic !! The 50'spreferred are not necessarily poolside but again close to Classic , the 70's doesn't have apool so are just close to classic !! I would put Connecting rooms plus 1 adjoining , close to Foodcourt !! As you have preferred you should have NO problemwith close to classic and my guess is connecting is very important !!I don't stay at the mods or deluxes as they are tooooo spread out !! Pop is much closer to everything !! I love it !!

So we are booked for Pop from Oct 15-19th with free dining! I'm so so excited! I will be 26 weeks preggo when we go but, I don't care!:rotfl: This will be our 2nd trip to Disney and 2nd time at Pop. We stayed last Sept during free dining. I think this year we might try MNSSHP. Our little girl was only 2 last year so I don't think she would have enjoyed it. But she loves scary stuff, so she'll probably get a kick out of it :)

Hello fellow Niagara Falls resident! Well from the other side of the river! :goodvibes I agree, we stayed at POR last year and found the resort way too spread out. We hardly used our mugs, only first thing on the way to the buses and after the parks on the way through from the buses. We have not stayed at Pop but stayed at All Stars Movies and found we used our mugs way more and didn't have to trek to the pool with all our gear. I am so glad we are staying at Pop with a preferred room this time around. 1 month and 7days to go! YAH WHO!!! :cool1:

First timers at POP. We are excited! Any tips from fellow vets. would be appreciated. Also, if I wish to be near Classic Hall, Hippy Dipyy Pool, what is the best location to request? :)

Also we are still in search for a POP fridge, but our dates are taken. Hate to pay per day, as we are staying for two weeks, and that is going to really add up! Do you'all think I should purchase one at Walmart and leave it behind? Any other suggestions?:confused3

If you want to be close to the main hall and the pool, it's best to book at preferred room and request a 60s pool view room.

As for the fridge right now you can get one for 60-100 since school is starting. If you want to leave it behind, you could always start a free swap.

Enjoy your trip!

Someone recently posted that they found a dorm fridge at the WalMart near WDW for $45. Several DISer's also suggested picking up a cooler - they said this worked great!

Good luck! :thumbsup2

We usually order from garden grocer and get a styrofoam cooler or two from them. We fill it with ice from the ice machine and just leave it behind when we leave. Works great for us!:)

Hey everyone - 4 days till we arrived and I faxed down a room request. I'll let everyone know if I get what I requested. I used the format suggested on page 1 by Jen (or something sort of similiar) and faxed 4 days prior after 4pm.

My work has given me an aircard in case I need to check e-mail while there, so I think I should be able to get online now without paying the online fee. YEAH!!

Hello... My gf and I stayed at the Coronado a few months ago and decided we really wanted to check out MNSSHP this year. We decided to stay in POP this time around to save on costs.. but I've been reading that it is loud, and chaotic. Is this true? Would one of the other Value resorts be a better fit for a couple? Not interested in any real amenities besides a quiet room. Any responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Our package is now all booked!! I'm very excited to stay at POP for the first time, however, I'm sad that I can't discuss it with the kids! This will be a Christmas present for them and then we leave on Jan 30th. :)

My fiance and I stay at pop all the time. Normally we stay in a standard room and request 4th floor 50s building. We've always faced the pool, but never noticed any noise. We were once in the 70s building but also never had any noise issues there either.

Is there anyway to request a specific area ahead of time, or does that occur at check-in? Thanks again!

We put in a request when booking the room. Normally we also send a fax 7 days before arrival, but this year I think we're going to try online check-in and see how that goes. The one time I didn't fax, we ended up in the 70s. This trip we're staying preferred and DFi wants to stay near the pool so our request reflex that's.

We too just paid off our trip for September this morning...yeah....:cool1:

I feel so bad to be wishing the summer away, although our weather here has not been too summer like. But still I can not wait to go...it seems we count down to the 90 adr window...then countdown to the 45 day mark for payments...and now we are awaiting the 30 day countdown! Nothing like wishing time away.

My DH and I went to Disney last September without our kids and did 2 character meals then and still had a blast. The character still interact with you and still sign autographs and everything. We did Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree (when it was still a character meal, I will miss it this trip :sad1:

Have fun and don't feel silly, Disney is all about being a kid again...even if you are not with any.:dance3:

Yeay! You are going in September too! I totally hear you about the crummy weather... we haven't had much of a summer here in Toronto either! Maybe we'll see you at PoP! Have a great trip!

Anyone else planning a trip for September 20-October 2nd 2010? Just wanted to share my excitment with someone!!

I'm debating btwn Preferred and regular. Last time in 2008 I got lucky and was the first standard room next to the block of preferreds in the 70's.

I'm worried about noise from the pool late at night (going in May) if we get assigned a preferred room in the 60s near the pool.

The only reason I'm thinking preferrred is for my mom. It's a long walk to some of those far rooms after you've been at the parks all day!

We leave tomorrow and arrive on Friday. Anyone have any requests of things they want pictues of or to check on? I have an aircard so I will have access to the internet.

Let me know. I'm getting so excited I think I'm going to bust at the seams.
