We did online check in for this trip (our 3rd at Pop) and the line when we arrived early, 7:30AM was pretty short. We had maybe 2 people ahead of us and it didn't take long to get through them. I do want to make a note that the last two times we stayed at Pop we got our room requests. This time however I only got 1 part of our request.

Our request was:
4th floor
60's Playdoh
Fireworks view

We got:
4th floor
50's Lady
Pool view

We asked about our requested room but was told that we would have to wait until 3:00PM if we wanted a room that fullfilled our request of the fireworks but it would be 4th floor 50's Jukebox. We decided to stay with what we had as they were allowing us to check in to our room right then (7:30AM). We were able to get all our stuff into our room and still make it to MK for rope drop. AWESOME!:thumbsup2

I thought you could but just not reserve things like cribs and whatnot. I may not even make a request, since it really doesn't matter to me!

Oh well. Since I've never been, I don't really have a preference! I'll know what to pick for next time, though. Thanks!

It will also allow you to select "ground floor". Originally it didn't allow that either, so maybe at sometime in the (near) future you will be able to submit more requests online.

What is the earliest you can do online check in? we are cruising the four nights before so I don't know if it will work for us but if possible I'm all about getting the details out of the way before vacation.

Thanks,
Debbie

Woohoo!! :cool1: :woohoo: :dance3: Single digit dancing - only 5 more sleeps :cool1: :woohoo: :dance3:

Yesterday I saw The Princess and the Frog. I loved it! Now I can't wait to meet Tiana and Naveen :goodvibes

I'm officially back from my first stay at a value (Pop) and I'm please to say it likely won't be my last! Pop exceeded my expectations. It was very clean, things were in good condition (no wear & tear).
I did online check in even with my laundry list of requests (2 connecting rooms, 1 being a king room, lake view, high floor). They did have all of that ready when we checked in, but in building 2 (50's). I asked is anything was available in the 60's - CM called and they were able to put us in building 5 (60's). We were in rooms 5152 and 5153. Connecting, 1 king, ground floor, no lake view but no pool (that was the point). I have to say the ground floor worked very well with having 2 little ones in a stroller. I don't mind using an elevator, but it made it that much easier. And although we couldn't see Illuminations from our window, we did view it from Generation Gap bridge a few times.
Building 5 is very convenient to Lobby, food court and buses! I would think building 10 (70's) would be easy to get to the buses too.

My only negative comment would be that the king bed wasn't as comfortable as the doubles. My DMom slept in a double with DS in the other (DD in a pack & play) while DH & I had the king. The king had a lump in the middle (just like ours at home) and was kind of hard. I went into my DS's bed on a few morning when he woke up at 5:30am and his was very comfortable!

I found there to be plenty of storage even with a P&P, double stroller, and fridge!

My kids loved the theming. DS4 really took notice of the theming and enjoyed checking out the various decades.

I am looking forward to going back (maybe October ;)).

We returned last week from 2 separate stays at Pop. It wasn't bad and I would definitely stay there again when I'm not staying on points. We were in the 90s section the first time and the 60s the second time. I much preferred the 60s as it was about half the distance to the bus stops. The rooms were clean and the busses ran efficiently. Food court had plenty of variety but it seemed we were always waiting for them to make the food, even for staples like fries and nuggets. Luggage service was great as they let me store 3 bags long term from our first stay while we went our our cruise. I loved being about to check my bags for SWA since I was returning to the airport with the kids by myself.

We did have a couple of issues and that was with our second stay. When we returned from the parks our second night, the night safety latch was completely removed from our door. I called to inquire about it and it took maintenance about an hour to respond. When he got there, he said that he received a call about it earlier in the day about it being broken but when he came to check on it, he said it was fine (which is the way it was when we left for the day). Then, when I returned that night, it was gone. So, why was it removed when maintenance said it was fine (and it was fine we when left)? Plus, who removed it? They had no record of who removed but they did replace it promptly. The maintenance man even seemed concerned as he told me to make sure all my belongings were still there. Then, the next night as I was laying in the bed closest to the door (still wide awake), I heard someone insert their key in my door twice. I jumped up and looked out the window and no one was at our door but I know it was my door because I heard the clicking sound it makes. I'm assuming that someone was just at the wrong door as I saw a lady a few doors down smoking and don't think anyone would be trying to get in my room with someone else standing right there. Still, it did concern me since I returned the night before with a broken latch on the door and it was just me and the kids. We were in a more secluded area too with the lake view.

Again, overall we thought it was a great value and so far our favorite value.

We just got back out first stay at Pop Dec 12 -18th. We did online check in and I had paid for a preferred room.

We were in the 60's building room 5360- third floor from outside our room we looked down on the Goofy water jet play area. I had requested a ground floor room. We arrived at 12:30 and room was ready by 1:15.

The room was clean and met all our needs. The beds were very comfy. I am used to sleeping in a pitch dark room so getting used to the light outside was kinda difficult. The only noise we heard were a few kids each morning running to the stairs excited to start their day.

The bus were fine although I cannot even imagine standing inline with no shade when it's hot outside! Having stayed in a Deluxe and a Mod before I would the bus service was the same as the mod. We waited 10-15 mins for each bus and they were filled with 10 or more standing when we pulled out of the bus stop. Last year at the AKL mid November we waited maybe 10 mins max for a bus and they were never filled.

All in all we had a great time at Pop and would not hesitate to stay there again. Our dd loved it. We are taking advantage of the bounceback offer in our room and will be trying the Wilderness Lodge next trip.

During Christmas dinner we "tentatively" finalized a WDW trip for December 5th -- 11th, 2010. That week is probably the Pop Warner football week. Can anybody who was there for that week this year comment on the impact of Pop Warner for Pop Century and for the parks?

32 days until our January trip!!!!!

Me and my Ds has started the ball rolling for our 7th trip to the world. We decided to stay for the 6th time at POP:cool1: July 6th to the 14th.I will make the reservations next week:cool1:

How close to the lake are the rooms? CAn you "play" at the lake at all? Do I want a fourth floor, for quiet and view, or first floor for easy? Two kids and a DH who misses living near water.

Tell me your favorite decade building and why.20 days til we arrive, and I need to send in my room reuquest soon!

I'm bumping your question, because I am wondering the same thing! I wanted to go 12/2 - 12/7 or 12/9 - 12/14

Pop Warner kids don't stay at Pop, so it won't be an issue there.

We were their during POP Warner week 2008. For the most part we didn't see them. One day later in the week (after I think the football games were done) the MK was busier than it had been all week. l remember seeing lots of FB players and cheerleaders. Other then that, including at the POP, we hardly noticed them! HTH;)

No you can't play in the lake, or even go in it. I think young kids can fish in it, but thats it.
