Can I check in early at Pop? Like 8:30 am? I know the room won't be ready but I want to check in early because of how busy it seems that Saturday is going to be.

Yes, we did that last year. We arrived probably around 9. Our room wasn't ready, but we were able to register and call back later to get our room number. We did not plan on visiting a park that day, but spent the day visiting the other resorts and seeing the decorations.

Have a great time!!!

Did my online check in for Pop. We arrive next Saturday. We paid for a preffered room but I also requested ground floor online. Crossing my fingers and hoping for a great room location.

Trying to decide if I should call back and go for preferred room.... My hubby and I both have back problems.. Did notice the hike if you wind up in the back... Are there elevators? Please say yes! If not - I need go ask for a ground floor.

Do all the rabbits, ducks and gators appear all year round? Going to be there in 4 weeks 2 days and would love to get some photos of the various wildlife.

There are elevators!!

We have been in 'standard' rooms (or at least that's what we paid for) the past 2 years & really didn't notice much of a difference at all in terms of walking. We were in building 6 this time around & it was an easy walk.

Got back Saturday night from 7 nights at Pop! Had a great trip!! Check in was a bit of a hassle for the first time, for some reason they had my MIL and I requesting to be "travelling with" people we had never heard of and NOT each other!!! So getting a room together proved to be a challenge for the person checking us in, but she was finally able to do it - YAY. The most important thing for me was to be in connecting rooms since we had 3 adults & 3 kids and the whole reason we get the second room (even without the extra adult) is for the kids to have a place to go to bed on their own. So that was good.

We found basically everything to be the same as it has been -- rooms were fine (beds still not great, loud toilets but life goes on), had a nice Mousekeeper who gave us some towel animals (the second day we were there we came back to the room after breakfast with the girls in their Minnie dresses and she gave them both a Minnie head and then left an elephant & a bunny 2 other days), food quality was good (OMG -- get a milkshake!!! They can be a dessert or a snack credit), food court was packed most days, but we were there at busy times. Bus schedule seemed to be working well.

Did online check-in yesterday for DS and myself! 5 days and we'll be there!!!:cool1: It's a surprise for my son for his birthday/Christmas present this year. We'll be letting him know on Friday!!!

Gotta say for everyone coming to POP. Don't fret over the room location. You will be walking around or scooter-ing miles in the park. Miles!

So another 20 yards or not really won't make a difference at the end of the day. If we get a different section each time we're staying there - then great. Different photo ops.

Just go and please enjoy.

OMGoodness...how did you keep it secret? I hope you have a wonderful time!

Checking the ticker, January 7th we will be at WDW!!!

By this time next month, I'm thinking the plane will have landed and we will be on ME heading over to POP.

Hi Everybody,
We are staying at the pop in january and will have a rental the entire time. I read posts 1 &2 in here to see if they had any information on this but did not see it.

Does someone have directions from the pop to the parks/downtown, etc? I know we can find out once we get there but I was hoping (master planner) to be able to get it all down ahead of time.

Thanks,
Debbie
Just follow the Disney bus :)

The Big Wheel can be found in front of one of the 70's buildings.

Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head can be found on the path that goes from the 70's buildings towards the 80's building.

I think the Twister Game can be found in front of the 70's building.

Take a walk along the path near Hourglass lake and you will see signs with interesting facts from the different years starting with 1950.

The whole Pop Century Resort is a photo op. Lots of big icons and look for cute bunnies, ducks and lizards.

Thanks!!

Only 9 more sleeps!!!!

just got back from a week long trip at pop. had a pretty good experience for the most part. cm's were extremely great and helpful and the food court was awesome. absolutely loved the quick service dining plan

So good to hear! Are you doing a trip rpt? We're going to Pop for the 1st time on Saturday. What bldg were you in? Did your family eat any of the 'Mom's Night Out' meals? My kids are looking forward to the fried chicken. :-)

Good morning everyone! Got back yesterday from a 7 day stay at Pop. Had a great time! I have a trip report going which you can find in my siggie. I'll be adding more to it as soon as I get some of my laundry going.

Got back 2 days ago from a fabulous 7 day trip to the world and POP Century!
I must say I love this resort. It is so lively, without being in your face. The colors and scheming is perfect. I loved the whole experience. We actually stayed a bit in the room this time, late rising, early to bed and just relaxed a bit in between and found that this resort was as comfortable as any high priced competitor.

They even gave us presents for our honeymoon! Of course I believe this was due to a phone call a restaurant manager made saying that most of the restaurants hadn't made much of a deal of our celebrating our honeymoon. But none the less, POP didn't have to give us those things, goes to show they do care.

For all of you headed to POP, enjoy the sights, smells and the over all experience!! :dance3:

We are making our first trip to WDW, so naturally our first stay at Pop--some family has been, but before online check-in. Saw a comment on another site that said they waited longer in that line than they would have in the regular line. The post here that mentioned it hasn't been yet. We check in next Thur, hopefully middle of the afternoon. Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Ms Daisy

4 years ago we tried it and have been going back each year since then. The rooms are nice, food is good and the buses are easy to use to get to the parks. The theming is alot of fun. We'll be going back this year for 2 weeks and are looking forward to it!:thumbsup2:cool1:

Help, please! I chose a standard room but still want to make a request when I register online. What should I request? Anything particularly fun/cute? We have 2 dcs going. TIA!
