Can anyone share their experiences with ordering a cake to your room or just ordering one in general?

Hey all you POPers,
I'm trying to keep up with the latest Pop information for our upcoming stay in December (will be our first time at Pop!) and wanted to make sure that this is the most up-to-date and correct info regarding the pool closings/refurbs?
Pop Century – Computer Pool – October 13 – 23, 2009 & Bowling Pin Pool – October 26 – November 6, 2009

Here is the latest from Stitch Kingdom:

# Bowling Pool at Pop Century is currently expected to close on October 26 and is expected to re-open on November 7, 2009. Guests may continue to use the Hippy Dippy Pool (feature pool) and Computer Pool (quiet pool).

# Computer Pool at Pop Century is currently expected to close on November 9 and is expected to re-open on November 21, 2009. Guests may continue to use the Hippy Dippy Pool (feature pool) and Bowling Pool (quiet pool).

Is there a way to enter the food court without walking threw the gift shop everytime? I love the stores but so do my kids. We plan on spending a day at the resort before we go to MNSSHP on the 31st. So if we are there I don't want to have to walk threw the gift shop all the time. I have a hard time saying no at Disney! We will probably use the food court in the evening as most of are adr's are late breakfest or lunch.

KELLY ~ there are doors directly into the food court from the back side, right behind the big 80's and 90's icons. The food court is open to the gift shop though (only separated by a small wall in some places)

There are doors on the sides of the building facing the Hippy Dippy Pool and the rooms that enter into the food court directly from the outside without going through the gift shop. Have a great trip!

Just left Pop yesterday.

Ok, I'll admit it, I was hesitant on staying at a (gasp) "Value", but, dollar for dollar (preferred room paid), I like POP better than the Wilderness Lodge.

My only hang-up from 10 days, were those pesky scooters zooming up with parties of 15+ to pre-board a bus.

I have no issues with 1 person boarding to "assist", but when 2 scooters take up an entire bus to Epcot, I've got issues.

Other complaint, ME.....apparently some people chose to "sleep in" yesterday and missed their DME bus back to MCO, which then caused everyone else to be delayed....IMO, they should've been refused to board. I was scheduled on the 9:45 am ME yesterday and didn't get on a bus until 11:15am, for a 12:40pm flight to PHL. Luckily for me, I chose to fly SW this year instead of Spirit and that I used RAC.

We booked bounceback w/ free dining next year too! But I won't be paying for a preferred room, it didn't seem so preferred to me....Bldg.1 4th floor!!!!!!!!!!

But all others in the party should get in line , it is not fair that they take all the seats and usually wander up at the last minute when there is already a bus full in line . Disney really needs to make those changes !!!

JLKennedy glad you enjoyed your trip. This is our first trip at a value also. Thanks for the great report. Sorry about the scooters. We went in April and also had a problem with them at POFQ. It wasn't the people on the scooters it was the bus driver and rude guest. After the people loaded that were with the scooter all the other guest enterd the back and the bus driver let them. Leaving all the other people that were in the front of the line waiting for another bus. We just got on the next bus not nothing to ruin a vacation over.

Well I did not fax a request. We booked preferred so it will be interesting to see what room we are put in. Looking very forward to our first stay at a value. Today is the big reveal for ds6. When he comes home from school today I will try and post a pic later of my special way I am surprising him!

I did online check-in yesterday (9 days away now! ) Only problem is that my boyfriend's last name is spelled wrong, an "N" instead of a "M" for the second letter. I had asked them to fix it, originally it was fixed and at some point it reverted

Is it worth asking them to fix it on the card when we get there? We're not in any kind of hurry, we're getting to Pop probably around 11, but not really doing anything until MNSSHP that night. But I don't really want to hold anyone behind us up.

3 months and 1 day until our trip! Gosh, I think this time is going to fly, so much will be going on in the months until then. I had a dream last night we were on vacation and I was so happy.

I can't wait to see POP!

When we were there a month ago I couldn't even find the powerade, which we'd been told about. Lite lemonade was about it. I at least wanted diet/caffeine free so drank a lot of Sprite Zero (which gets old really fast). No caffeine free diet Coke and the iced tea was terrible, in my opinion. I drank it in all the TS restaurants and it was fine, but not at Pop or the one CS (Restaurantasauros) that I tried it at. We had thought going in that I could go down the night before and get apple juice (if they still had it) or powerade for breakfast in the morning but just ended up using snack credits for AJ instead.
