I understand that there are no coffee makers in Pop (not even to rent) but do they provide you with cups like they do in the other resorts for coffee (like @ CB??)

no coffee cups are provided, but they do provide the room with plastic cups (for cold drinks) We usually get the refillable mugs ~ I know most people hate the coffee, but I can tolerate it.

One time I took the kids without DH (he is the coffee runner in the morning while I get ready) and I didn't want to have to go to the food court every morning to get my coffee with the kids etc. I bought a small coffee maker that brews right into a travel type mug (so no glass carafe to worry about breaking) and my own coffee from home. It worked out great and it only cost $10. Maybe you can bring a small coffee maker from home?

I have never know the pools to be creepy warm! But who knows.... maybe in the warmer months. :)

I checked in online yesterday (we leave next Wednesday! :goodvibes) but I'm wondering how I can add a room request? I wanted top floor in the 70s really, but any top floor room will do. Is this still possible to do once I've checked in online? My mum rang up to get hers a few days before but I wasn't sure whether I could do this because I've already checked in.

Thanks in advance :thumbsup2

Are the pools ever like... creepy warm? I don't really know how to describe it, but sometimes when you get into a pool it's just too warm. Like you plunged into a cup of iced tea that's been warmed up by the sun.:crazy2: I guess stagnant is kinda a word that comes to mind? I really think I'm not explaining this right, but too warm pools always squick me out.:guilty:

In December I'll take creepy warm. When its hot out- yuck. I don't want to feel like I'm swimming in pee.

Thanks! I just don't want to feel like I'm taking a bath with a bunch of kids this September.

Looks like we will be there the same time... :)

We will be:) I'll have to check out your PTR, I'm obsessing over them since I'm almost there too. Trying to read everyone's "must dos" and what not.

I don't want to start a panic but half way through our stay my husband went to the front desk and asked that all our bed linens to be changed (we had brought our own top, bottom and pillow cases from home that we just put over the hotel linens...we don't like how they use a flat sheet on the bottom, always comes out) b/c he had red bites/rash on his ankles...he has had this happen on during our past stays @Pop...they don't itch. Anyway when we came back from the parks that night our beds had been stripped but not made, no clean towels, trash not emptied...we called Housekeeping and @1/2 later someone came and made up the room. We think there must have been some confusion because of my DH request...but we didn't make a big deal about it and neither did they...maybe if we had fussed more we could have gotten something...

There have been several threads about rashes in the ankle area. I did a quick search and found this one http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1369601&referrerid=93883 If this is what your DH had it had nothing to do with the linens or bedding. Just FYI for your piece of mind.

I figured why not give it a try.... If it saves standing in line waiting then all the better...

One thing that I did notice is the times for Magical Express say 12am but have my correct flight numbers. Anyone else notice that?

I've noticed this in the past. I don't think it's a big deal. I think they do that because airlines change flight times. may be easier to put in the time closer to the date. :confused3

Hi! Can you tell me how to do/where to go for online check in? Was it easy enough? Can you request a specific room? Thanks!! Have a great trip!!:wizard:

It was very easy. just need your reservation number, your last name, and check-in date. the hardest one is your reservation number. Unless you're Dory and forget things almost instantly.

You can't put in request, but I sent a fax. I check in tomorrow morning so here's hoping it works out.

Thanks SO much, going to check it out now! :)

I see your trip is in one day!! Have a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay:

I put a request in when I first booked... not sure if that will be attached to the online check in... Guess Ill find out when I get there LOL.... The only thing I am a little worried about is that I asked for a higher floor and since have buggered my back and am not walking as great as I was "feeling better today fingers crossedd" so I might have to do some sweet talking once I get there if there is any space closer to the bus etc?

I just want to get there!!!!!:cool1:

Just back yesterday.

We flew in Wednesday the 19th, returned home Tuesday the 25th. This was my 3rd stay at POP, and we loved it as always.

Weather was great in my opinion. We had normal light showers once a day, and a soaking rain once on Sunday.

Crowds level was higher than I am used to - we usually go at the end of September. I was shocked at how busy the food court was at 8&10 am yesterday. We were getting ready to leave, but you could tell a lot of the people were just getting going for the day. I guess thats why I love mornings so much - all these people aren't at the parks;)

The room was clean every day. The only issue I saw was on our last day. I was searching the floor to make sure we didn't lose anything, and saw that there were chip crumbs on the floor from someone before us. Not a big deal. Our one room issue was the toilet that was hard to flush. My kids couldn't do it, you had to hold the handle down until it flushed.

I had checked in online, and also faxed down my room request. My request included: building number (choice of 2), bed rails, and unscented cleaners for my DD3 who has asthma.
We got the building we wanted, ground floor facing the pool. There were no bed rails on the bed, and I had no problems with smells in the room. So 2/3.

Let me know if you have any questions!!

Booked the POP over Christmas, in a standard room, which area is the best to request ?

We've stayed at the Preferred in Movies and thought we had a great room - great walk to the pool and food court - we had no complaints

Which area would you chose?

Thanks, we actually changed our plans last week, and we're leaving in 63 minutes, but I'm not counting :rotfl2:

DFi and I love Pop at Christmas. We've always requested 50's 4th floor. It's close to classic hall and has either a great view of the pool or lake, with a few views of the parking lot (be sure to request a non-parking lot view, or a pool or lake view)
