Approximately how long does it take on DME from the airport to POP? We will be getting our own bags since they wouldn't get to the room until late. Just trying to see if we should eat at the airport or could wait until we get to POP. How many stops are there before we get to POP? Thanks.

The one time I used DME to Pop was January 2008. It took about 35 minutes on the road after a 20 minute wait to get on the bus. Pop was the first stop.

Hi, I tried to do a search for this thread but it didn't work. On the cake thread I read reports of getting the chef at Pop to make a cake for you and then it being delivered to your room.....

Were you looking for the Cake Thread itself? If so, I have it linked in Post #1 of this thread. Just go to Page 1 of this thread and do a search ( [Ctrl] + [F] ) for "Celebration Cake".

In mid September, I had a similar experience, although I would say that for us, it was more than 20 minutes to get through the first line before getting in queue for the bus pick-up line. That process was more like 35 minutes on this particular Saturday afternoon.

When we were there last month, we just happened to get in line right as they were loading the last people on the bus. We were only on the bus for 5 minutes, tops, when it pulled away. It took about 20 minutes to get to Pop and get unloaded.

I think it depends how long the line is to get on the bus. You may want to get a bag of chips for a snack or just wait until you get there and get some yummy snacks from the food court. :)

If we have a reservation at 8:20pm at Crystal Palace on a day when Magic Kingdom closes at 8pm, will we have a problem catching a bus back to Pop if the buses only run one hour past park closing? The park originally was set to close at 9pm, but they changed the hours so that they close at 8pm. I called Disney Dining and they said that my ressies were still good. I'm still worried about it though. Should I be? Or am I worrying needlessly?

You may want to post this on the transportation board. They know everything over there! :)

I'm not sure about the bus directly from MK, but if another park has evening EMH the night you are going, you could take the monorail to the TTC, then catch a bus to the park that has EMH, and then get a bus back to your hotel.

That is the worst case scenario answer.
I'm sure someone will know better about getting a bus directly from MK. In any case, HTH!

They will not strand you.

They will not completely stop the busses until every last guest is gone.

Anyone else read this thread??? http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2030610

Has the wheels in my head kind of turning. (need nail biting emoticon here :lmao: ) I certainly don't want to perpetuate a rumor mill, but I just want to know (as in NOW) if there is any validity to thoughts that POP will temporarily close, and/or if it will impact our upcoming trip in Feb. Like everyone else here, I have planned to the "T"- down to the fridge, a stroller swap, connecting rooms for BFF joining us for 1/2 the trip, etc. Having to change resorts would be a headache at this stage of the game :headache: .

Anyone else a bit concerned????

Sounds like it is just a rumor right now. I was wondering if they would do something like that again because of the economy. What got me wondering is they keep coming out with so many deals.

I've only been back into Disney since early 2007, but I don't remember all these deals last year. I could be wrong.

I hope they don't temp. close POP! We love it there and are thinking of switching our Oct. reservation over there.

Ooh I hope this is just a rumor I am booked at Pop in May!! I too don't want to switch resorts !! May be an upgrade at the same rate might soften the blow !! Just thought what about the fridge swaps ??????

I am not going to get too concerned until I hear more. I also think that Disney would have no choice but to put the existing reservation guests into an other resort. I'd be okay so long as they offer me something else at the same price. I did post on the other thread and asked that the original poster keep everybody updated. Hopefully, they will.

I did see that thread as well...
But, imo, it makes no sense to launch such a big promo (for six months of the year!) and THEN go back and say, "Wait, we're going to close two resorts that have been open to booking." It probably would cost them more time & money to try and move all of those guests who already booked.

If they WERE to close resorts, I would hope that they'd wait to see how things finalized with the 4/3 deal (ends 12/20), and then close resorts for the 2nd half of 2009.

Also, do you think they would keep adding on to DVC if they were going to close some resorts?

Interesting. We are booked for the Free Dining Bounceback in Sept/Oct of 2009. If there were to close (even temporarily) the Pop, I wonder where they would move us to.

I'm totally hypothesizing, lol.
I'm secretly wishing they come out with a free dining promo for the first half of 2009... I'd switch to free dining over the 4/3. ;) It'd save us a few more bucks. And I'd be able to bump to maybe a mod.

Has anybody tried the new Reuben Flatbread at Pop ?? It sounds good ! I love reubens and wanted to try it !!

Just had it on Thursday night. I HATE corned beef and I forgot to ask for it without. I scraped that off and gave it to DH. The rest was pretty decent. The saurkraut wasn't "sour" enough for me, though! I am german and like it really tart.

We just got back last night from a week at Pop. Remember, we hated it last time but needed cheap this time around and so we decided to try it again. We are SO glad we did. I had asked for a room on 3rd or 4th floor, near a laundry room.

We got room 8363 - 90's section, looking at the computer pool. FANTASTIC location. Just right across the parking lot from the busses, loved the view. Great great room. We swam in the computer pool and in the kids wading pool near the 60's. Fabulous each time. Used the laundry room 3x. Food court was great. Bus service was great. It was packed, but it didn't FEEL packed.

Walked around the resort early morning and late at night. It really is a cool resort. So so so so so glad we gave it another shot. WE booked bounceback for August ;) Asked for 80's section this time!

We will be at Pop in 3 weeks with our Nephews. This will be thier first time to the USA! And thier first time to WDW. We have 8 nights at Pop with Deluxe dinning. We have preferred but we like the 90's section the best. We will have stayed thier 5 times.
