I considered a Standard room but! Which Standard room is the 70's it's a standard or a preferred room! OH! One more thing Does Everything POP sell any of Disney Books?

Have a look at this map - the preferred locations are hi-lighted in yellow, so easy to see where standard is located.

What kind of Disney books? They sell some cookbooks and books about WDW and some paperback books (like you'd find at an airport). Can't recall what else. Someone else will know for sure! :)

.... You will probably never see one - Disney has traps everywhere, where guests would not notice...boxes hidden in shrubbery.....

You know, I took the Backage Magic Tour back in September. While we were walking around the backstage grounds of EPCOT, someone in our group made the comment that they were impressed that in the parks rodents who don't wear red pants aren't seen. She smiled, thanked him for the compliment, and said that they spend lots of money to take signifant precautions to mitigate a that scream of surprise from happening! She wouldn't go into details although she did say that do their best to not use poisons.

Have you looked at Post #1? There are detailed maps that show which buildings have rooms that are preferred and moreover, the specific rooms that are standard or preferred in the "Classic Rooms" seciton. :)

Amazing, isn't it? Disney really does do a great job...even with all our sightings, it's really a drop in the bucket. Does that make sense?

MLK is in Jan, not Feb. Are you thinking Presidents day? I know alot of schools have break then, but I don't know many that do it in Jan. Some people do go for a long weekend over the weekend of MLK, but I think the next weekend should be just fine.

As for the noise debate...I just got back yesterday from a 1st floor, 60's poolside room. I had one last year too, a few doors down. I noticed more noise this year than the other two, but still not much. I never notice other room noise, or only a hum of noise. never heard the famous toilet flush in the 3 times we've gone. I would hear some outside noise, but very minimal. After 11 or so it was for the most part quiet, and if it was bothering me after midnight, I would go out and say something (hasn't happened yet though).
the down side is at 8:30 in the monring they turn on the powerwashers to scrube the sidewalks and pool decks. The first morning it was plugged in right next to our room. I was up, but DH and DD were still sleeping and DH was having a fit. DD slept through it. 4 days later they had made full circle and were in front of our door again. this never bothered me, as I got up early each day, but for those who want to sleep in, this isn;t so great.

You must have gotten the same room I had last year, on the end. They put that power washer right out side our window every few days or so. The last day we had a late MK night till 3am and needed our sleep as that was our travel day home. They woke us with the power washer. I called and asked if they could move it away from the window as I felt it should not be 3 feet from any room. They told me they would and never did. I traveled home with only a few hours sleep. I wrote a letter to Sam the main manager of Pop suggesting that they might want to look into why the guy parks that machine 3 feet from the window of that end room when he could put it in the center of the building so it is not so loud in the rooms giving their guests staying in that room a better experience with Pop. If it was still right outside the window of the end room it looks like my suggestion was ignored. lol Figures right.

heading down today ~ anything I can find out for anyone? Pictures you would like to see of something?

Hi Everyone! I just got home early this AM (1:30 ahh!) POP was awesome! This was my first stay at POP and I LOVED it so much I booked a return trip in Sept (hoping for free dining)
We arrived at POP about 10:30 am on check in day and I was checked in right away (only one person in line in front of me) On my reservation I requested a 50's room, first floor, poolview. The CM told me my room was a 90's 4th floor (AHH the one place I didn't want to be!) I asked if it was possible to check and see if anything was avaiable in my original requests and he was able to get me a 50's poolview on the 2nd floor!! I loved this location!
About half way thru our week a lot of high school kid's were there and it was very noisy when you were walking to and from your room, but when we were in the room I couldn't really hear them. So for ME I would say POP wasn't too bad with noise(but that is MY opinion, I'm sure someone else there the same time may disagree)
I did decide to purchase the refillable mug and for me it was well worth it. Every AM I stopped by and filled it up. Drank it on the way to the park and it lasted a little in the AM in the park. I then used the Mug while I was at the park to keep my water cold (I bought water at wal-mart and carried it in my backback, when I was thirsty for cold water I would stop at a counter service place and ask for a glass of ice... then pour the ice and my water in the cup and it stayed cold for quite a while)the each night when I got back to POP I woud refill again! Totally worth it!!!

BuckeyeGal, Thanks for this thread! There was SO much info on here that really made my stay great, like the tension rod and curtain, that really made getting ready in the AM for Mom and me really helpful. Also, knowing that there was a laundry room was very helpful, I was abe to do wash half way thru the week and didn't go home with tons of dirty laundry. I also never heard about a fridge swap until this page and I was able to "swap" a fridge that week which helped me for saving some $ on meals (like Bfast and sandwiches) There was so much more than that so thank you!

If anyone has questions about anything while I was there I am more than happy to try and help!

Oh and one last thing... the tye dye cheescake??? In my opinion...I loved HALF of it...the Cheescake part, WHY WHY WHY is there red velvet cake as the "crust" that is NOT cheescake! LOL

Thanks for the review. We are staying at Pop for the first time in August. Love hearing great things about the resort. Hope you'll post pictures!

I'm sure that you're gone now but if not - please take a picture of the latest drink offerings at the beverage station in Everything Pop. Oh, I also love pic's of the store. New or featured or holiday merchandise.

My daughter is in culinary school and for their senior product they are doing a hippy diner theme. She made the tye dye cheesecake yesterday to take in today because nobody thought it could be done. Now if we only had a piece from POP to do a taste test lol

mickeystoontown: I will attempt to post pictures... not quite sure how to, I'm going to upload them later today to my account on shutterfly, so hopefully after that I can load them here.

Not sure if this is possible or not or if it has been asked...I am HIGHLY allergic to most laundry detergents. Not sure what POP uses, but would I be able to request that they use a certain detergent to wash our sheets in? Any feedback would be great! Thanks!

I am very computer illiterate but was able to post my pics from photobucket. Just register on www.photobucket.com. Once you've registered, you can upload pics from your computer onto their site. Once they are uploaded, you'll see three links underneath each picture. Copy the third/bottom link. Come back to these boards and then paste the link to whatever thread you want to post your pictures to. Then click Submit Reply. Your pictures should be posted! Super easy to do. Hope to see your pictures soon.

I think you can call ahead and make a request that your room be VIP cleaned. This is done specifically for people who have allergies. Wonder if they can do a VIP on your linens?

Yes, I believe you can if you put a special request in on your resort reservation. Disney resorts go out of their way to make their guests comfortable and get them what they need for their rooms. First thing I would do is call CRO explain the situation and see if best thing would be for you to request specially washed linens on your reservation or how it should be handled.
