Thanks Minnie&Nana for your helpful information! Do I need to go ahead and call to request this- my trip is in 6 weeks or wait until the week I leave?:)

Call them right away so they have time to make arrangements for you. It can be done even last minute, but makes things easier for them with notice. I call them as soon as I make a reservation.

Some will tell you to just tell them CM while making the reservation, but I have found it is much better to speak with special needs directly.

Every once in awhile a guest might get a new Special Needs CM who does not seem too helpful - just give them the info and call back the enxt day to speak with someone else and say you would just like to verify everything.

Feel free to PM or email me If can I can answer any questions or try to be of help. :goodvibes

Do let me know that everything gets worked out, okay? Thanks!

Christine

Can anyone tell me where to request that is semi quiet and a not far walk to the kiddie splash area near the hippy dippy pool? Thanks so much!

Maria has good advice - another possibility would be the back side of the 60's pool view would be quiet and very close to bus and food court. Have a look at this map and you can see areas that might appeal to your family. You've been to POP twice, so know to work with the CM at check in to find a room that will work best. :)

Have a wonderful trip!

Ooops, I wasn't even thinkning about the Hot beverages(I don't drink them when it's hot... sorry) Yes they did have coffee, and hot water for tea, I also think they had hot cocoa as well.

Yay! Last year (January) I think all I put in my mug was either coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. I don't really like pop/soda (whatever you want to call it.)

Geesh, I totally forgot where you'd gone!! So glad you had a great trip and can't wait for a TR and lots of photos!

Where was your room this time?

A CROW stealing food??

Welcome back!!

The trip was wonderful!

My trip report link is posted in my signature. I took a lot of pictures, and slowly getting them on. I'll post in the picture thread too, eventually.

You must have gotten the same room I had last year, on the end. They put that power washer right out side our window every few days or so. The last day we had a late MK night till 3am and needed our sleep as that was our travel day home. They woke us with the power washer. I called and asked if they could move it away from the window as I felt it should not be 3 feet from any room. They told me they would and never did. I traveled home with only a few hours sleep. I wrote a letter to Sam the main manager of Pop suggesting that they might want to look into why the guy parks that machine 3 feet from the window of that end room when he could put it in the center of the building so it is not so loud in the rooms giving their guests staying in that room a better experience with Pop. If it was still right outside the window of the end room it looks like my suggestion was ignored. lol Figures right.

We were on the end room (middle of 60's) next to Mowgli. The washer was about 10 foot from our window. They turned them on at 8:30 each morning. Only two mornings was it outside our door, but then they would go around the pool circle and make their way back. LOL! I watched a guy keep checking his watch one morning, and sure enough at 8:30 he started it up. I think thats too early. I know alot of people get up and go to the parks early, but alot do sleep in. (I don't but DH and DD do.)

I meant Disney Guidebooks for 2009! they have it!

I do not beleive any guidebooks are at Pop. None are written by Disney, so I doubt they would carry them. MAYBE Birnbaums, because that is the "offical" guide to Disney. But honestly, you would want to buy a guidebook BEFORE your trip, because you want to use that info in your planning.

Again, too, I have never seen any Disney "comic" books on site anywhere.

About half way thru our week a lot of high school kid's were there and it was very noisy when you were walking to and from your room, but when we were in the room I couldn't really hear them. So for ME I would say POP wasn't too bad with noise(but that is MY opinion, I'm sure someone else there the same time may disagree)

Oh and one last thing... the tye dye cheescake??? In my opinion...I loved HALF of it...the Cheescake part, WHY WHY WHY is there red velvet cake as the "crust" that is NOT cheescake! LOL

On Firday (March 13) a bucnh of cheerleaders arrived. they were having a competition and I think Friday was there only free day beofre it started. I saw a lot of them at MK that day. UGH!

I totally agree with you about the cheescake. The cheesecake part is awesome, but red velvet cake crust??? Blah. We always leave the crust. LOL!

I'm sure that you're gone now but if not - please take a picture of the latest drink offerings at the beverage station in Everything Pop. Oh, I also love pic's of the store. New or featured or holiday merchandise.

I did take one of the drink station. It is dark, and I haven;t gotten through my pictures yet, but I'll try to edit it lighter and post it, but it may be a few days till I get to it.

Hello POPpers! I just read this entire thread.:scared1: We are booked in a preferred room July 10-16th with a 40% our room:cool1: :cool1: . I'm still a little nervous about the small rooms/beds for our family of 4, but have gotten lots of great information from this thread. I have a DD14(15 next week) and a DS11(will be 12 in June) and they won't want to sleep together. Since we will likely be driving--20 hours!!--DS will bring the cot he uses for scouts and sleep on that. So I'm thinking I will add a request for a 4th floor quiet room. I will sleep pretty well, but be happier with less noise.

No apple juice?? Do they have any kind of juice now as I'm not keen on fizzy drinks.

thanks x

The only non "fizzy" drinks I noticed were lemonade, iced tea, powerade, and frozen coke & blue raspberry.

They did have apple juice and orange juice available, but it was botted so you have to purchase it separately.

correct, along with hot chocalate, and coffee. (I don't drink coffe, but DH does) The powerade was fruit punch.

Hi All!! I am staying at Pop in 20 days :cool1: !!!! One the first page (which is aweome by the way!!!) the food court is listed as opening for breakfast at 6am, but on a different website it says 7am. Can someone please tell me which is the real opening time is??? I am really hoping for 6!

it opens at 6, but only limited stuff is available. I beleive around 6:30 or 7 the rest starts to open up.

We're leaving tonight and will be in WDW tomorrow! I'm so excited!!!

Have fun! I wish I was in your suitcase! :rotfl:

Absolutely!!! ::yes:: Special Needs can have your linens washed and the room cleaned without chemicals. After you have a reservation call:

Special Resort Reservations: 407-939-7807 # 1

The CM's are wonderful and will block a room and have it ready and cleaned for you.

Hope this helps!!

Not sure what time you are arriving, but just let them know. When we were there last my son's face swelled and we ended up in the ER. They couldnt see what it was and said it looked like a reaction to something. So when we got back we asked for everything to be washed with "free" detergent. They bought us new pillows and everything was fine the rest of the 21 days we were there.

Actually, because she knows her child's needs now, it is far better to call special needs and let them make the arrangements ahead of time, rather than waiting until check-in. :)

I hope they still have Hot Chocolate - I would have that in the morning yum yum

We stayed in the 60's bldg last Dec. We were in room 5440, which I thought was a really good location. It's on the back side of the 60's bldg so no pool noise but just a quick elevator ride and walk to the pool. 60's bldg is close to Classic Hall but NOT close to any parking lot. If you're looking at a map, there are other closer parking lots than the one actually labelled for the 60's.

I needed to know is that Everything Pop has sell some apple Juice bottles? And what time the Everything Pop opens and closes?
